It is symbolic of the anointing of the Holy Spirit and provides a stimulus for faith. The pray-er's faith is key here, their faith brings God's healing and forgiveness of sins to the sick person. To confess sin is to humble oneself and repent. By verbally confessing it to another we demonstrate our willingness to obey God and be humbled. We also are letting it go. What a load off of one's chest to confess. It must then be followed by prayer to heal. (A symbol of bandaging the wound so healing can occur).

Q3. (5:14-16) In the healing prayer, what is the role of oil? What is the role of the prayer of faith? What is the role of faith? What is the role of confession of sins?

The oil is quite frequently representative of the Holy Spirit - being poured on the person who is sick. Priests and kings were annointed in the old testament and it all seems to represent the annointing of the Holy Spirit to equip/to fill people with God's presence to accomplish an end. Such as being healed.

Faith and prayer - means to act upon our belief in the triune God. To speak to HIm, to align ourselves properly with Him - - Asking, many times is for our own benefit - to help us see our sin and stumbling blocks in our lives. Confession of sins, removes the blockers that prevent God from healing us.

Q3. (5:14-16) In the healing prayer, what is the role of oil? What is the role of the prayer of faith? What is the role of faith? What is the role of confession of sins?

Oil is a symbolic representation of the Holy Spirit. As the oil is poured out and anointed, so the Holy Spirit is poured out on the sick person and he is anointed. The oil may contain medicinal properties too, depending on its purity, but mainly, it is a symbolic representation.

Prayer of faith effects the healing process. In other words, it is the starting point for the healing. It contains the deadly punch for satan to start fleeing. :(

The role of faith is to unite the sick person, the person who prays and God. When these three are united in faith, then the work of healing starts.

Confession to each other starts a chain reaction. The soul is freed from its bondage. Prayer is initiated for the forgiveness and the healing process starts.

3d.) It restores our relationship with God so that our prayers will be heard. David writes: "When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of the summer. Then I acknowedged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the LORD'--and you forgave the guilt of my sin." (Psalm 32:3-5)

In the healing prayer, what is the role of oil? What is the role of the

prayer of faith? What is the role of faith? What is the role of confession of sins?

The role of the oil is symbolism in the sense that the Holy Spirit is

being poured out upon the person.

The role of the prayer of faith is to stand, without doubt, upon the

word of God, and claim the promise of God with regard to healing.

The role of faith is to please God, for "Without faith, it is impossible

to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is,

and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him".

The role of confession of sins is to truly repent and leave no obstacle

to prevent healing in a sick person. He that covereth his sins shall

not prosper, (shall not be made whole).

The oil is symbolic. The oil has no healing powers but God can work through anything and anyone.

When we pray, unless we believe that what we ask for will be granted by God, then our prayer will be to no avail. Praying in faith, then, is important for us to get results from God.

Confessing one's sins frees up one's heart and mind to receive God's forgiveness in Christ. When we are not burdened by sin, then the channels through which our healing will flow become unclogged and we can then better receive that healing. We are also better able to concentrate on developing our faith which is very important in the healing process.

The oil is a symbol of the presence of God's powerful Holy Spirit.

The prayer of faith was suppose to save the sick person or make the sick person well and free from demonic possession. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.

By confessing one's sins to another christian, the person is making himself accountable for his sins. He is piercing the darkness. Praying for each other and their sin is an act of faith.

In the healing prayer, what is the role of oil? What is the role of the prayer of faith? What is the role of faith? What is the role of confession of sins?

Oil is symbolic indication of the pouring on of the Holy Spirit. Praying in faith is praying with belief in God that He can heal. Faith is belief and trust in God that He will hear our prayers offered in faith. James tells us that confession of sin is required for healing to come and be effective and preceeds healing.

is the role of the prayer of faith? What is the role of faith?

What is the role of confession of sins?

The oil repersents the Holy Spirit. And the prayer of faith is that the one we are praying for is being healed. And the role of faith will help us to draw closer to God. When we confess our sins to one another and forgiving one another. Then the healing can happen.

The role of oil is to signify the presence of the Holy Spirit..

The prayer of faith using the name of Jesus is powerful and this calls God into the healing ministry.. You must believe. Faith brings about action.. By confession of sins we admit our wrongdoings to another and be made ourselves accountable for our own sins.

Annonting with oil is symbolic of the presense of God's Holy Spirit.

It is a point of contact,a stimulus of faith

role of the prayer of faith

The prayer of faith is faith in action.

The faith of the sick person is important, but it is the prayer of the elders,by faith that effects the healing.

role of faith

Christian maturity, anointing with oil, praying in the name of Jesus, etc are all meaningless unless the one doing the praying does so in faith.

role of confession of sins

By confessing one's sins to a fellow believer,a person makes himself accountable for his sin.

He can finally let go this sin to God and healing can begin

After confession comes prayer, and from the prayer of faith comes healing.

The role of oil is sybolic of the presence of the Holy Spirit

The prayer of faith is required for healing of sin as well as healing of body

The role of confession is important - especially for recurring sin. Speaking to others helps is 'piercing' the sin. However confession should be to mature Christians or priests.

The role of the oil is symbolic of the restoration of the weary Christian by the Holy Spirit. Though the anointing may be a more common practice than ceremonial it is still important as refreshing, encouraging and uplifting. The anointing and prayer are to be used together. The restoration is spiritual, not physical.

THE ROLE OF OIL IN THE HEALING PRAYER IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT . OIL WAS USED IN THE OLD TESTAMENT TO SANCTIFY OR SET SOMETHING APART UNTO GOD; TO MAKE IT HOLY UNTO GOD.IN THIS CASE, THE SICK PERSON BEING PRAYED FOR IS BEING SANCTIFIED UNTO GOD FOR HEALING.

THE ROLE OF THE PRAYER OF FAITH IS TO PUT OUR COMPLETE TRUST IN GOD FOR HIS HEALING VIRTUE AND POWER TO FLOW UPON THE SICK AND BRING DIVINE HEALING SO THAT HE GETS ALL THE GLORY. THE FAITH TO BELIEVE COMES FROM GOD AND SO DOES THE HEALING. WE JUST HAVE TO BE YIELDED VESSELS UNTO GOD.

THE ROLE OF FAITH IS NEEDED IN THE HEALING BECAUSE BY FAITH WE CALL THOSE THINGS THAT ARE NOT AS THOUGH THEY ARE.FAITH PLEASES GOD. WE HONOR GOD WHEN WE TELL HIM WE BELIEVE HE HAS ALREADY PAID THE PRICE FOR OUR HEALING BY HIS STRIPES ON CALVARY.FAITH IS AN ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL FACTOR WHEN COMING TO GOD ON BEHALF OF THE SICK.

CONFESSION OF SINS IS NECESSARY BECAUSE IT CAN HINDER THE FLOW OF GOD'S POWER IF THE PERSON BEING PRAYED FOR HAS SINS OF UNFORGIVENESS, HATRED, BITTERNESS, RESENTMENT..ETC IN THEIR HEARTS. IT'S NOT THAT GOD CANT STILL HEAL BUT HE CHOOSES NOT TO BECAUSE HE SAYS IN HIS WORD IF WE HARBOR GRUDGES AGAINST OTHERS , HE WILL NOT HEAR OUR PRAYERS....GOD BLESS....
