because Jesus said that he would. are we now doubting his WORD? just believe in Jesus (GOD) he'll take care of the rest. let him have the reins.
Why do we get impatient with this?
because we want everything yesterday. and the devil is there putting the doubt in our minds. don't let him have the chance.
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
it causes us to sin some more. because the devil got in.

We get impatient with this because God's timing is perfect and ours is, "I want it NOW!" We don't trust Him enough when we are impatient.
When impatient, when we stray from trusting Him, we tend to do things to "fix" it on our own - PRIDE, sin enters in and we mess things up. In the process, we miss what blessings God is giving us in the 'waiting time".

I think everyone who believes in the Word knows that God will exalt the humble, because he states it there. Personally, I know that He will.
Why do we get impatient with this?
Our impatience comes from not wanting to suffer through the ucomfortable stuff (being humble is not easy!). Then, if this is true, and our eyes are only on the end result, then are our hearts truly in the right place?!
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
Pride = sin = distance from our Lord!
Being humble is something that I constantly have to work on. At the same time, the people I admire the most are humble people. Why is it so hard for me?!

Mat 23:12 states: "Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (KJV)
This is clear and to the point, there is no doubt after reading Matthew’s verse. Additionally, we know that Jesus' life was one of servanthood. Everything He did was from a servant's heart (humble) in obedience to the Father.
Why do we get impatient with this?
Webster's defines impatient as: restless or short of temper especially under irritation, delay, or opposition, eagerly desirous. None of these characteristics show Godly influence or wisdom. They show me concentration of/on self. In that focus, there is no servant heart. He who obediently serves cannot be about his own business or concerns, they are second and his master's are first. Finally, it is hard to see a humbled person when all you hear is ME, MINE.!
I also know that we learn impatience, from childhood. We want everything now. In my travels around the world I have sat down many places and watched other cultures, other races and even different age groups. Each group has its own characteristics but when it comes to impatience all groups are the same. That's right, at times we are as children, only concerned with our own selfish motives and desires. This is tough to swallow but it is true.
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
Imbalanced attitudes and actions. I call them imbalanced because our Christian lives are directed by the Word and it gives us balance in all things. Yet, when we act out from self we are not in balance with who we are supposed to be. To add insult to injury, people who have heard us say we are Christian's, disciples of Jesus, often say to us in those moments, "I thought you were a Christian, you're certainly not acting like one now. Some Christian you are."
People of this world look for opportunity to criticize our actions. We must be careful not to allow self to give them that opportunity. One thing I learned long ago and also reread in our past study of James is written in James1:19-20: Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. (KJV)
Keep looking up, and God Bless.

we should humble ourselves because God commanded us to. Jesus is our Rabbi - we are supposed to walk as He did - - and we know that by obedience God will exalt us - - and even if he chose not to exalt us - that would and should be enough!
Why do we get impatient with this?
because we are a fast passed people - we even get upset when we go to MacDonald's - if we have to wait one minute more. we are result oriented - we suffer from lack of faith - and trusting God.
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
sin - and then taking control - not being humble

OUR IMPATIENCE SOMETIMES LEADS US TO SIN. WE DON'T "SEE" AND WE GET THE ATTITUDE OF "WHAT'S THE USE" SO WE BACKSLIDE.
WE MUST REMEMBER THAT " EVERY KNEE WILL BOW AND EVERY TONGUE WILL CONFESS THAT JESUS IS LORD" EITHER NOW OR LATER. I PREFER NOW SO I CAN ENJOY ALL THE MANY BLESSINGS HE GIVES DAILY...

(a) We know we're supposed to humble ourselves like Jesus did. But how can we know whether or not God will exalt us?
We can know whether or not God will exalt us by believing the Scriptures. The climax of the hymn is the early Christian confession, "Jesus Christ is Lord". For Christians there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, who is one with God and shares God's Lordship, therefore if we believe this we will be exalted like our Lord Jesus Christ.
(b) We get impatient with this because we are human. We get impatient with waiting for God to work in and through us.
© Our impatience sometimes leads us to exalt ourselves rather than wait on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Because he told us he would…
"whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Mat 23:12b)
"he who humbles himself will be exalted." (Luk 14:11).
What more do we need? We have God's Word.
OK. Fine. But how long must I humble myself before I receive God's exaltation... A week? A month? A year? What? My entire life? Whoa, hold on there. What's in it for me..?
Our impatience leads us to seek exaltation now, not later. The evil one tempts us saying “Why wait? Enjoy life now. Live for today”.
But when we “live for today”, we are rebellion against God. We offend him when we value the here and now over the abundant riches he has promised to bestow upon us in his glorious kingdom.
Heavenly Father, you offer me more abundance than all the world’s riches. Forgive me when I seek to myself before others. Give me strength to serve my brother, as your precious son served me. In his glorious name I pray. Amen.

I was once wrongly accused of some underhanded motives in a situation in my old church. (You’re usually accused of such by people who actually HAVE underhanded motives!) I had been held in high regard through the years and I valued my reputation. This really hurt me and I would’ve loved to create a scene over it. But I was convicted to die to my pride, hold my tongue, be nice to these people, and wait on the Lord to be my Vindicator. It was several years before I saw what God had in mind, but He clearly resolved it. And He restored me to an even higher position of favor. If I had impatiently tried to control things myself, I am certain it would’ve been disaster and I would have suffered even greater hurt and loss – and truly damaged my witness to others. I cannot do God’s work like God can! Wait on the Lord.

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."
(James 4:10)
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he
may lift you up in due time." (1 Peter 5:6)
The word of God is truth he cannot lie and he we see two places he says he will lift or exalt us up. We need to be humble and do as Christ our example.
Why do we get impatient with this?
Being human we want to be exalted by others and lifted up at the time we do things. This is the human part of us but we need not the praise of man for we shall receive all we need in heaven from the Father if we just do as we should.
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
When we do not wait upon the Lord you will receive the glory from those here on this earth and once you have the glory of man you need not expect Jesus to still reward you. You have already received your reward. If we will but wait the reward is much greater from our Father and Lord.

We know God will exalt us if we humble ourselves because scripture tells us this will happen.
Matthew 23:12 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Job 22:29 When men are brought low and you say 'Lift them up!" then he will save the downcast.
Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.
Luke 14:11 For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself wil be exalted.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.
We become impatient because, as I Peter 5:6 tells us we will be lifted up in due time, which is God's time and His timing is perfect but we may want it sooner than He plans for us. Our impatience can lead us to taking things into our own hands, which can lead us into sin and separation from God.

We can know that God will exalt us because He said He would. "For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." (Matthew 23:12) I believe the Word of God without question.
Why do we get impatient with this?
Patience is not a virtue that most of us have. When we are told that we will receive a gift as great as this, we want it NOW!
What does our impatience sometimes lead to?
When we become impatient, we are allowing Satan to rule our lives instead of God. Satan is always trying to put doubts in our minds concerning our Faith. We have to learn how to turn Satan off and keep our eyes on Jesus.
There is more joy in Jesus in 24 hours than there is in the world in 365 days. I know, I've tried them both.

tells us to humble ourselves under the might hand of God, and He will exalt us in due time. The book of 1 Thes. tells us that we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.
WE get impatient because there is a constant, ongoing battle between the flesh and the Spirit, and the mind is hostile toward God. We want to be obedient, but the flesh at times overcomes our desire for God.
Our impatience will lead to our taking control of the situations in our lives, instead of waiting for the leading of the Holy SPirit. When we start doing things our way, then I believe that God leaves us to ourselves, until we
realize the error of our ways, and turn in repentance to Him.

Its a promise to us that he will.
1Pe 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time
We get impatient becuase we get tired of waiting for him. We want to get it done. This leads us into not getting the best that God wants us to have

The point is to himble ourselves whether or not God exalts us, if we humble ourselves so we can be exalted, we are not truly humbling ourselves. If we get impatient, once again we are not truly humbling ourselves, which can lead to anger, resentment, pride, rebellion, and self promotion.
