Daniel's whole life had been faithfully devoted to the LORD. I think he was encouraged because he knew God and had experienced God's great and faithful mercy. His life had been preserved more than once by miraculous intervention from the LORD. He was encouraged by knowing God would keep His Word, that His covenant of love and this prophecy would be fulfilled - because of God's righteousness and His mercy.

Daniel was encouraged by the bible itself he had read the book of Jeremiah and had studied this out to know that the end of the 70 years was at hand. He knew of Gods faithfulness and he stood on the word of God's prophet to believe it was the time for this to happen.
What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass?
The fact that Daniel did not just do what others told him to do. Even the law did not stop him from calling on God three times a day. Daniel had put God to the test and found him faithful and true.

He realized while studying the Scriptures that the 70 years of exile for the Israelites is almost finished, and that the prophecy of destruction of Babylon is near at hand.
What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass?
Daniel was a prayer "warrior". He prayed to God three times a day, and he was not afraid to stand his ground for his beliefs. He believed the Scriptures and God's promises.

DANIEL UNDERSTOOD THE SCRIPTURES GIVEN BY THE PROPHET JEREMIAH THAT DESOLUTION ON JERUSALEM WOULD LAST 70 YEARS BECAUSE OF UNFAITHFULNESS TO THE LORD. ALL OF ISRAEL HAD TRANSGRESSED THE LAW AND TURNED AWAY FROM THE LORD. SO DANIEL ASKED FORGIVENESS AND RESTORATION OF ISRAEL BECAUSE HE WAS A RIGHTEOUS MAN AND HE KNEW OF GOD'S MERCY. DANIEL WAS INTERCESSOR FOR THE ENTIRE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE WAS PRAYING TO THE KING INSTEAD OF PRAYING TO GOD.
What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? BECAUSE DANIEL WAS CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MOST RIGHTEOUS MEN IN HISTORY, RIGHT ALONG WITH NOAH AND JOB. HE WAS DEVOTED TO GOD AND WHEN HE KNEW THAT PRAYING TO ANYONE EXCEPT THE KING WOULD LEAD TO PUNISHMENT HE DID IT ANYWAY.
BECAUSE DANIEL KNEW GOD AND KNEW THAT THE 70 YEARS WERE ABOUT TO BE OVER SO HE PRAYED FOR MERCY FOR THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL. DANIEL NEVER COMPROMISED HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD EVEN AFTER SERVING 60 YEARS UNDER THE PAGAN GOVERMENTS.

He longed for his people to go back and berestored their homeland so that they would serve and honor God.
Daniel understood also that what the prophets have said had come to pass.
"'This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,' declares the LORD, 'and will make it desolate forever.'" (Jeremiah 25:11-12; see also Jeremiah 29:10; 2 Chronicles 36:20-21 and Zechariah 1:12)
What trait on Daniel's part brings this encouragement to pass? Daniel was faithful and uncompromising to do what was righteous in the eyes of the lord. He prayed that Israel must be restored for the people were named after the God and for his sake, Daniel prayed for forgiveness of his people.
15"Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16O Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.
Help me o Lord to do well in this lesson.. Amen

Daniel was a man after God's heart. He studied the Torah and the Prophets, he was obedient and understood that Israel was in trouble. Israel's history of going away from God and their actions shows their disobedience of God's law. Daniel knows God and knows God's lovingkindness - Hebrew - Chesed Daniel had stood firm to God's law even in captivity - - he didn't eat the king's choice food - he ate as God had instructed. he was contantly believing God and living as God instructed. He knew God answered obedience and He knew God blessed obedience. To seek God is to know God will answer - Daniel Did.

We, like Daniel, should pray for God to deliver our nation from the hands of our enemies even though we have gotten far away from God as a nation. We should pray that our country as a whole will turn back to God and to the principles established by our forefathers when our nation was founded.

He know what was said by the prophet Jeremiah. He know what was coming. But he also knew what God could do, if he went before him asking his forgiveness. He know that the people would be restored.

Daniel pleaded with God to bring about the promished return of his people to thier land. The prophet Jeremiah had written that God would not allow the captivds to return to their land for 70 years (Jermiah 25:11, 12, 29:10)a Daniel had read this prophecy and kew that this 70 year period was coming to an end.
Daniel knew just how to prayHe had read God's words and believed them. As he prayed he fasted, confessed his sins, and pleaded that God would revel his will. He prayed with complete surrender to God and with complete openness to what God was saying to him.

2. Knowing that if God gave his word it would happen, Daniel didn't take the easy way out and sit back and wait. Daniel knew exactly where he stood, no more no less, and he had to do his part. How often do we get lazy and say 'God said this will happen, on to the next item' , giving no more tha a casual thought to anything. We have more responsibility than to sit back and wait for the goodies to roll in.
