Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself? How does this relate to the Creator? What does it say about unity? Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28?

To sum up the significance of being under Jesus Christ reminds me of a verse from Revelation committed to memory years ago. (My words) ..."Worthy is the Lamb ...to receive all power, wealth, wisdom and strength, honor, glory, and praise". Repeating this verse falling asleep, usually brings great nights sleep.

Unity within our churches is suspect if we look closely at what God is calling us to be and to do. Obedience is probably the number one problem in our churches. God calls disobedience sin.

1 Corinthians 15:24-28 take me back to the scripture from Rev 5.
Psalms 127:1 Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is useless.

God's purpose in sending Christ was to unite Jews and Gentiles in one body with Jesus as the head.

In 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 Christ will conquer all evil including death. Everything will be under His authority.

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ,
John.

John 1:2-3 [The Word] was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

The Word who became flesh and dwelt among us is the same Word that has always existed as God and through whom all things were made. He is the Creator and original Owner. At some point, rebellion occurred in the heavenlies and Lucifer became Satan, the Enemy of God. When humanity sinned, "property rights" were handed over to this Enemy as the creation known as Earth became a dwelling place of wickedness. But when time has been fulfilled, the day is coming when all things in heaven and earth will again be under the headship of Christ Jesus, when He is sent out from heaven as the King of kings and Lord of lords to finalize the destruction of evil. This relates to the Creator because everything in existence will be restored to His rightful ownership, submitted to His authority, and united under His reign.

Since believers are already seen by the LORD as completed in the character of Christ and received in the heavenlies, this unity must be of highest importance to us. Just as there is total unity in the divine Trinity, we are called by the Father's will to preserve this unity in Christ as His body through the Holy Spirit. We must desire harmony and the common goals of the LORD in order to function together as His healthy, holy body. And one day all of creation will function in this perfect, complete unity when Christ takes back His rightful authority. No more disputes or divisions or conflict anywhere ever.

As to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, it could take a thesis to explore all that this could mean! In speaking of Christ's delivery of the kingdom to the Father after defeating every enemy of that kingdom, my impression is that He is continuing to operate in subjection to the Father's authority at this time as He sits next to the throne in heaven serving as our Priestly Mediator today. His divine work right now seems to be completion of the building of this kingdom, with His divine power focused to that end. This seems to say that when the kingdom of saints is presented to the Father, then God will be pleased to restore all things in heaven and earth, not just the Church, under the headship of Christ. It's certainly obvious that all things are not operating under His headship at this time! The Son will return in full might and glory to reclaim everything and completely destroy sin and death once and for all. The entirety of creation will then again be filled with the fullness of God the Trinity, who will be all in all.

I really look forward to other insights in the forum!

Jesus is the centre of all things. Being the centre of history (from the birth of whom history is dated, both BC and AD) and the heart of all creation, He will rise up and assume command of all that is His. He will rule with an iron rod. He has trod the winepress of the wrath of God. That which does not conform to His plan will be wiped out under wrath. Unity will prevail in HiIs Kingdom, as in Heaven, so it will be on the earth.

The Creator gave dominion to Adam, who gave it to satan by believing him and eating the forbidden fruit. Jesus came as a man and won it back from satan through his death and resurrection, defeating him in anyman's terms! He (calling Himself the Son of Man) took back authority over the earth and returned it to those who love him by giving them authority in the Name of Jesus.

There will be no dissentient in this new creation, for Jesus will rule with His iron rod. He will bring unity to all people, and we shall all live as one under him, having love toward one another and preferring one another above ourselves. This will bring peace and joy

!Cor 15:24-28 talks of the end when Jesus takes over until He has put all His enemies under His feet, finally including death! Having completed all the victories, Jesus will present the finished product to God His Father, Himself being subject to the Father. There will remain only unity between them on the question of dominion over earth.

God's church is to be under one head. However, we are split into denominations, each one exclaiming their way is the best way, often causing quarrels among christians. But we will be brought under one head - Christ himself - who claims or recognizes no denominations or practices. Instead, ALL people are ONE family in Christ Jesus, who sacrificed himself for all of us. In Corinthians we are told Jesus will destroy every sovereignity, authority and power. So all authority (including the heads of all denominations) will no longer exist but become subject to Jesus. One church. One way. One Head. Jesus
Praise God! Pat

The significance means all believers will be in same accord, in unity with Jesus being the Head of the Church in Heaven and on Earth. We are one in Christ. God has revealed to us His Plans in acordance with His pleasures, His intentions for us.

All of these Plans were predestined for us before creation by God Himself for His glory.

Unity - to unify (all things) one head (Jesus) and consummate them in Christ all things in Heaven and on Earth WILL BE IN UNITY (in one accord).

Relative to 1 Corth. 15:24-28: when all things in Heven and on Earth are complete in one accord and unity and according to God's will and predestined plans/purposes, then Jesus turns this over to God. It is complete all is done..one supreme God. He will be everything to everyone, supreme, the indwelling factor of life.

In Ephesians 1-22 It says " and has put all things under His feet and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church. Like it says in 1;9-10 made known the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure. Also to be put in effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment. I like the word ALL things inheaven and on earth together under one head even Christ. To me the significance is that when All things have come together according to the plan and will of God for those that follow Him in obedience and submitt to His will no matter the cost will rule and reign with Him. Him being the head and authority over us no matter what nation or color we are as long as we believe CHrist died for our sins. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit Created all things. The father gave to Christ the Authority over us When he went to the Cross and sacrificed His life for that purpose. So He is the head He is the ALL AND ALL. Every Knee will bow to Him in that day.

Eph. 4: 3-4 keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, There is one body, and one Spirit even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.

After Christ has put all things under His feet and destroyed, especially death. when all things are subdued then Christ shall relinquish all in all to God. ( the creator) 1 Corinthians 15: 24- 28. God is # 1 the creator and ruler over the universe. Praise God. : :D

I agree with our sister Patricia, I think that at this time God the Father, Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit are the only true unity working to unfold God's iminant plan for us His church. We are destined to be one but as yet continue to find things to bicker about a pull away from becoming one church in Christ Jesus. At some time this will end and all will become subject to Jesus as He has givens us forknowledge in His word. Once everthing that the Father has given Him to do is perfected, put under His feet, then He will turn it all over to the Father and become again subject to the Father as we all are but then to give the true praise worthy only to the one tru God and Lord of All.

Just as Jesus could do nothing except that which the Father sent and told him to do when we come under one head we to will only do that that Jesus and the Father has set before us in one voice and one accord and that being to worship and please our Lord. Even when we thing we have the flesh under the Lords control we are all subject to being unfair in our opinons about others. We know we're not to judge and most of the time don't mean it as judging but think we have the right to voice our opinion. If that opinion is at the expense of anothers character we need to take it to Jesus who sees things as they really are.
We will be in unity as the only thoughts we will have is about the Lord and what we can do to worship and please him.
How can we say to the Creator that he created this one or that one or this thing or that thing wrong he is the creator and created everything perfect, Man in his lack of wisdom created the problems. God gave us this world but we used our free will to think we know how it should be run and never ask the creator what our responsibility was in the world he created.
1 Corinthians reminds us that as Jesus laid down his will to do the Fathers and through his obedience overcame to world and death so in the end will those that endure to the end to be gathered with Him in glory. All enemies, sickness, presecution, troubles and death will be under his control we will see through godly eyes how great, how just God is and always has been.

The Trinity is ONE and in perfect unity - I have never had problems with this as I have been taught it is so.
By the atoning death of Christ He is worthy to receive all Glory Honor and Praise - he is the head of the church for whom He died and rose again.
I think instead of denominational barriers hindering us we scould all come together and give Him first place.
Whether we like it or not we will be subject to Him - Jesus earned that right.

God created us for His praise, His glory, and we have been self indulging ever since. He allows sin to reign to give us an opportunity to choose life or death. He sent His Son to give us life, to establish His kingdom on earth and to bring us back to where we were intended to be, praisers and worshippers of the one true God. To that end there must be a single purpose, one unified force in complete agreement, with one Head, Jesus Christ. This will be done at a latter dated as every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. As for now, we as Christians should work to agree with and come to a common understanding of the truth, the word of God. Studies like this bring us to unity of the spirit and to the service of the one true head of the body, our Savior.
1 Corinthians 15: 24-28 set the tone for this as once Christ has dominion over all of creation He will then turn to the Father and restore true order once and for all time by placing all in the Fathers hand. Hallelujah and praises for evermore!

That when the time comes Christ will return and make his will be known to his followers here on earth. All things will be brought together as one. All enemies will be destroyed even death, which means we will live in heaven with Christ.

Even in the days of the early Church there were divisions spring up, Paul reveals these in his letters to the Romans, Ephesians and Corinthians, and even he was trying to forestall the deepening of these divisions in those days, now those divisions are more commonly known as denominations. In my opinion the significance of Eph 1:9-10 is that Christ will remove all these divisions (denominations) and the truths and strongholds that have been so long treasured by man will be crushed under Christ's heel, we will return to the pure unadulterated worship of God that Jesus advocated during His first ministry here on earth. Therefore there will no longer be Baptists, Methodists, Salvationists, etc., we will all be united as one under Christ.

I believe this verse relates to 1Cor 15:24-28 because after the Body of Christ is reunited, then the Second Coming will begin, where Christ will conquer the prince of this world for the last time and all of His enemies will be cast down. They will be crushed beneath His heal just as is foretold in Gen 3:15. I believe that the Bible relates the timing here, although I don't believe we are being given license to ignore the teaching to not watch for signs, but to continue to be ready and to continue to spread the Gospel.

(NIV Study Bible)God was not keeping his plan a secret(the mistery of His will),but His plan for the world could not be fully understood until Christ rose from the dead. His puppose for sending Christ was to unite the Jews and Gentiles in one body with Christ as the head. When the time is right (when the times have reached their fullfillment),He will bring us together(unity),he will bring us together to be with him forever. This is the Creator's plan(Gods plan)Then everyone will understand. On that day everyone and everything will bow to Jesus as Lord.
(EXTRA CREDIT) 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 Although God the Father and God the Son are equal, each has a special work to do and area of sovereign control.(15:28).Christ is "not lower in place"to the Father, but his work is to defeat all evil on earth.First Jesus defeated sin and death on the cross. In the final days,he will defeat Satan and all evil.World events will seem to be out of controll, and justice may seem scarce. But God is in controll, allowing evil to remain for a time untill He sends Jesus to earth again. Then Christ will present to God a perfect new world.
Some people believe the world will be destroyed, some don't.Again this is part of Gods mistery,we will have to wait and see. But, Jesus will present a perfect "Church" to God.Amen

Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself? How does this relate to the Creator? What does it say about unity?
I BELIEVE THAT UNDER ONE HEAD, CHRIST MEANS THAT ALL WHO WORSHIP HIM WILL BE BROUGHT TOGETHER UNDER CHRIST THE ONE WHO PAID THE PRICE FOR US. WE WILL ALL BE GATHERED TOGETHER TO WORSHIP THE ONE TRUE LORD, THE WORD, THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT. JESUS IS AND WILL BE KING OF KING AND LORD OF LORD OVER ALL THAT REMAIN UPON THIS EARTH. WE WILL BE TAUGHT HOW TO TRULY WORSHIP GOD AS WE SHOULD. WE WILL BE LEAD BY THE TRUE LEADER, JESUS. GOD IN HIS INFIINITE GLORY WILL RECEIVE HIS KINGDOM ON EARTH THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED FROM THE BEGINNING BEFORE THE FALL. IN UNITY WE WILL BE ONE UNDER CHRIST OUR LORD, OUR KING OF KING, OUR SAVIOR, OUR REDEEMER. GOD'S OWNERSHIP WILL BE RESTORED ON THIS EARTH UNDER ONE AUTHORITY, HIS.
Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28?
1 COR 15: 24Then [cometh] the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.26 The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death.27For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under [him, it is] manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
JESUS WILL CONQUER, HE WILL RULE OVER ALL WITH GREAT AUTHORITY AND POWER DEFEATING THE EVIL AND SATAN. WHEN ALL IS COMPLETE HE WILL GIVE THE AUTHORITY OVER TO THE FATHER FOR HIS GLORY.

Q2a.) (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself?

Q2a.) I guess, the concept of unity of command comes to mind. Splintered leadership results in nothing being accomplished. Look at our world now.

Q2b.) How does this relate to the Creator?

Q2b.) "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation." (Colossians 1:15)

Q2c.) What does it say about unity?

Q2c.) He is before all things and in him all things hold together. (Colssians 1:17)

Q2d.) Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28?

Q2d.) Christ must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. Until the perfect order created in the beginning, Christ will reign until God's plan is accomplished.

Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself?
When the times has reached its fullness, Christ will be known as King over Israel, and Head over the church. God has predestined that the Christians will share in this mystery, God's revelation of the church founded in Christ Jesus.

How does this relate to the Creator?
In the beginning God said, "let US make man in OUR image." God had such dreams for us, He gave mankind dominion over the earth. Adam could eat from any tree-but one, Adam failed that test, he lost dominion over the earth to Satan, Satan now has dominion over the earth; But he knows his time is short, so he is about deceiving peoples and nations with his lies.
God cursed Satan, there will be emnity (great hatred) between Satan's seed and the seed, (descendants) of the woman, Jesus Christ. Jesus is a jew of all jews, Satan tried to kill the Son, but was defeated. PRAISE GOD! He has tried to wipe out the Hebrew people, the "Apple of God's eye." This is why we see such hatred toward the Hebrew people, and why we see such hatred growing towards the Christian, who have been adopted into Christ. We believers share in the blessings of the covenant of Abraham. PRAISE GOD!
Christ gave back to us what was lost when sin came into the heart of man, fellowship with The Almighty God. Thank you Father for you had a plan right from the beginning, for You loved us so much, You sent Your only begotten Son, to die for us, to take back the dominion that was lost, to adopt us into Your Family. PRAISE AND WORSHIP TO YOU ALMIGHTY GOD, TO THE SON, AND TO THE HOLY GHOST.

What does it say about unity?
Unity is found only IN CHRIST JESUS. One day every knee will bow, everyone will confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord!!!

Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28?
After the millennial kingdom has been fulfilled, the wicked will be judged, and Jesus will have destroyed all dominion, authority and power and Satan and his followers wil be consumned. In the New Jerusalem, the city of the living God, both Jew and Gentile will be inhabiting the city along with the saints of all ages, regardless of their dispensational background; And most important of all, there will be God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Unity is found in the Trinity, and unity will be found in the believers who are part of the family, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

The significance that all things will be brought under one head – Christ himself is that all things in heaven and on earth, nothing left, will be gathered up or summed up in Christ, so that Christ is to be the all and in all, the sum of the parts and Christ is the head of all things.

This relates to the Creator that God is creator all things so He is able to make this happen
It also says that all things will be united so that each thing will part of each other, each thing will relate to each other, each thing will influence each other.

In relation to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, it says that all things that will be brought under Christ include all rule, all authority and power in heaven and on earth. All things will be put under Him, so that all things will be subject to Him.

Q2. (Ephesians 1:9-10) What is the significance that all things will be brought under one head -- Christ himself?

In all walks of life, people have found Christ Jesus as their Savior. Here in these latter days, the fulfillment of the Gentiles is being revealed. Many folks are finding themselves being entrenched into the Hebrew roots and following the culture of the Hebrew of ancient times. As time travels, so has the introduction of the full gospel to all nations and to all walks of life.

Those who have chosen to live in obedience have noticed their lives to be richly blessed beyond measure and continue to seek His will in their lives and are seeking His righteousness and the Kingdom of God in their heart, their mind, their body and soul.

His purpose was to make His salvation available to the Gentiles, and then the Jews would be jealous and want it for themselves. Now if the Gentiles were enriched because the Jews turned down God's offer of salvation, think how much greater a blessing the world will share when the Jews finally accept it. We are told by Paul to remember, we are just a branch, not the root. For since the Jews' rejection meant that God offered salvation to the rest of the world, how much more wonderful their acceptance will be. Excerpts from Romans 11

Paul had a vision of a church where the Jews and the Gentiles would be united in their love of God and in obedience to Christ. While respecting God’s law, this ideal church would look to Christ alone for salvation. Who we are is irrelevant and to what religion we belong to is irrelevant because in the end all that matters is our faith in Christ.

“Thank You Father, for the faith of Abraham.”

How does this relate to the Creator? Our Creator God Almighty is the One who put this plan into motion when He gave design to the heavens and the earth. I say again, Jesus Christ is God’s will in action. Everyone one of us who has ever been given breath has a part to play in His Story.

What does it say about unity? And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. We are all one body, we have the same Spirit, and we have all been called to the same glorious future. There is only one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and there is only one God and Father, who is over us all and in us all and living through us all.

Extra Credit: How does this verse relate to 1 Corinthians 15:24-28?

Although God the Father and God the Son are equal, the visible action of the invisible in command, each has a special position in the realm of things to come. Christ Jesus is not situated lower by any means as He sits at the right hand of The Throne. His work is to defeat evil on earth. He defeated sin and death at the cross and in the end, He will defeat satan and all evil. Everything around us may appear that the world has gone crazy and justice has vanished but God is in control and is allowing evil to remain until He sends Jesus to earth again. We all have some part to play in this plan and we will know what that part is in due time.

I heard this said the other day and it really touched my heart, because the truth is, Jesus loves us and will never stop. "When we are all collected into the Kingdom of God and all is said and done, when Jesus closes that last and final door, and He looks out at those who have chosen not to love Him, He will still love them. His love will never die."
