Q2. (Ephesians 4:11) How can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congregations?
We can stir up the gift of evangelism among our congregation by reminding them of the gift given to them by the Holy Spirit and by encouraging them to fulfill the great commission that Jesus himself has given to us.

What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift?
A person with this gift might be earmarked as an evangelist because of the passion he/she has for bringing the message of salvation to those who are without Christ. They travel from place to place preaching and teaching the message of salvation and seeing the lost come to repentance.

How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our midst?
The Spirit-gifted evangelists might be encouraged when we support them by our prayers and give financially to the ministry.

Stiring up the gift of evanglism among member of a congregations is not always an easy project. I believe the people have to come out of their comfort zone and look around at the needs out side of the building. I was in a church where i had a food program for the community. We would give them a box of food once a month and invite them to church .I would either prech a message on salvation or have some one else do it then invite them to pray the sinners. pray many souls were saved on those days. This was just one of many ways.

An Evanglist is a Gatherer or bringer of Good news to the unsaved An Evangelist is one who has a heart for the lost. It burns in their souls No matter where they are they have to tell people about Jesus the Savior.
An evanglist Implies the unfolding of a plan for making the gospel known to all the world ( Romans 1:16)

It illustrates an attitude of humility necessary for receiving a call to areas where there is no God much like missionaries. They will go into unknown situations ( Is. 6:1- 13 ) I have always believed a missionary is an Evangelist that goes into other countrys. Here at home a missionary does the work of an Evanglist. They travel and preach the gospel.

An Evangelist connotes an inner compulsion to lead the whole world to an understanding 0f Jesus Christ ( 2 Cor. 5: 14-20 ).

By recognizing their gift, encouraging them in the areas of ministry outside of the church. Praying for them to have the boldness and courage to step out. Reading in Is. where God ask" who will go " In ( Is 6 :1 )

The Evangelist refers primarily to a special gift of preaching or witnessing in a way that brings unbelievers into the experience of salvation It functionally, the gift og evangelist operates for the establishment of new works while pastors and teachers follow up to organize and sustain. Essentially, the gift of evangelist operates to establish converts and to gather themspiritually and literally into the body ofChrist

By being in unity, speaking and teaching the truth (accurately), have the love of God and Jesus Christ in our hearts and having God's Holy Spirit.

Phillips ability to "WIN" people to Christ is key. Having a heart for the lost and being a soul winner is so valuable - it seems easy to do, yet is difficult for many of us.

It is a true weakness for many church bodies. We want to win souls but seem convinced we are not talented - don't have a witness story for others - have fears that block us from witnessing. all are excuses for what God has called us.
Psalms 127:1 Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is useless.

Q2. (Ephesians 4:11) How can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congregations? What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our midst?

Stirring up the gift of evangelism among the congregation is a difficult one but essential. I think the telling of testimonies is most important and valuable. People need to delight in giving their testimony - telling their story This way we learn how to minister to one another so everyone develops those skills which can then be applied elsewhere. People generally can't do anything until they can see how it's done and watch the processThle Bible says it's by the Blood of the lamb and their testimony, so that is what we need to practice and observe until it comes naturally.

The earmarks of a person with the gift of evangelism might be their ability to communicate freely with everybody, and a large number of people brought into the Kingdom. They are good Bible students, travellers etc.

To encourage a Spirit-gifted evangelist in our midst, help his program financially. We should financially back those we want to encourage so they don't constantly have money worries. Opportunities to speak will be important. Prayer support during their services will help.. Keeping in touch with encouragement , will help too as it is sometimes lonely work. Providing follow-up for their proteges will be important if they are not doing it themselves, and creates a team feeling.

In order to stir up the gift of evangelism it would have to be aroused by the laying on of hands. It would have to be taught and preached about with fire. The whole congregation should be in one mind and one accord in support of evangelizing.
The individual who has this gift displays an inclination to talk to anyone about the Lord and His gospel.
It should also be taught that we are to sow seeds, plant and water. It is God who will grant the increase. We cannot induce anyone to come to the Lord lest it be of their own free will. We seem to expect persons who hear our message to drop to their knees on the spot and accept Jesus as their Savior. More often than not it is a process that requires time and effort. Anyone interested in evangelizing should be aware of this from the start. It saves a person from becoming quickly discouraged.

The gift of evangelism can be stirred in the congregation by first telling the congregation the importance of evangelism. It is the great commision given to us by the the Lord Jesus Christ himself. Next, the members of the congragation should be helped on how to identify their gift. There are people who have spiritual gifts but do not know. I have come across a document by the late Selwyn Hughes on how to identfy your spiritual gifts.

Question1) Try to move a member from where they are up to another level and in many cases maybe evangelism/outreach telling non believes about the plan of salvation. Most times the harvest fields are right in our own communities.
Question2) A christian that has a natgural passion to tell others about Christ and one whoi loves sharing their own testimonies of what God has done for them. They are constantly talking about their love of Christ and like to trave such as a Missionary. My thoughts are that particular christian should start in their own hometowns and then travel to other areas of the state or country and then become a full Missionary who travels to other countries.

Question 3)As christians, we can encourage the evangelist by letting them know you are praying for them to win soles for God's Kingdom. Encouage them to go out and share the word and let them know that they can do it. Those that God has called to Evangelism, God WILL equip them by providing whatever they need to be able to go out into the Harvest Fields which are wide open.

When we read in The Book of Mt. 28:18-20 :-
Jesus gave the great Commisssion - we are to go -whether it is next door or to another Country and make Disciples . It is not an option but a Command to all who call Jesus " Lord ". We are not all evangelists in the formal sense but we have received gifts that we can use to help fulfil the great commssion.
Also in Mt. 9:37-38-
Jesus urged his Disciples to pray for workers. We are to pray so that Te Lord will raise more workers in Our Churches , for the Harvest is great but workers are few.

Q2. (Ephesians 4:11) How can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congregations? What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our midst?
We can stir up the gift of evangelism by learning what an evangelist is and by becoming true evangelist spreading the good news of Christ. We must humble ourselves and offer the use our skills and our talents where needed in our communities, our congregations, spreading the world throughout the land. Evangelist should be examples of Christ, following in his footsteps, teaching as he taught, loving and understanding, living a Christ-like life. Spreading the word where ever it can be spread. As he told the disciples sell all that you have and follow me. One should not be troubled with the things left behind. He should take up his cross and follow Christ learning the ways of God. Traveling and spreading the good news. We can encourage the spirit-gifted evangelist amongst us by learning the ways of evangelism, so that we can too become filled with this gift of evangelism that Christ has given to his followers. We too can spread the word in places where we are making sure that everyone has heard of Christ our Savior. Making sure that we spread the good news of Christ and that many have heard of the good news that Christ is our Savior, that God is merciful and loving and that you too can have the gift of salvation.

We have to express and instill to members the importance od saving souls. This is a matter of life or death, eternally. It is still okay to tell others that the wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life. The love of God comes to mind and God wants us to have this kind of love for our neighbor. This type of love will prompt us to action not just lip service. We can build up and encouarage each other. The prayers of God's children can cause thing to happen in a postive and life changing way. When we come together touching and agreeing, God has told us He will be in the midst. Guess What? It only takes two or three. So come on and make this united effort and join together in prayer and stir up the gift of evangelism in each of our congregation. We can do all things through Christ that strengthen all believers. Just think of the power we have in Christ. PRAISE GOD!
Rejoice always , pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you........1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

By preaching the Great Commission to our congregations, as disciples [followers of Christ] we are commanded to go out and proclaim the Gospel.
Perhaps when people hear the word evangelise they automatically see in their minds, huge crusades and the like, and doubt enters their minds that they can't do that sort of thing. We all have family members, friends, work colleagues, ect who don't know Christ whom we can evangelise one on one to. As long we are honest in ourselves and our answers to their questions and show the joy and the hope we have in our Lord Jesus Christ. Remember 'we can do all things in Christ who strengthens us.'

One who is very passionate about Christ.

By covering them in prayer, by writing encouraging notes/letters, and supporting the ministry financially.

By allowing them to speak and proclaim what the Holy Spirit has placed in them will bring about salvation and conviction of sin to the congregation. They have an earnest love for the "lost". By preaching on the lost and what will happen to their souls if not told about Jesus Christ and what He will do for them.It gains converts to Christ. By testimonies and the willingness to encourage them to testify what the Holy Spirit has done in their lives.

Q2. (Ephesians 4:11) How can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congregations?

“Prayer is the Spirit , speaking truth to truth” Phillip James Bailey

We can ask God to continue to pour out His Spirit upon all flesh, just like He said He would do. We can put angels on assignment:

Matthew 18:18
Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Notice that He… is talking to ye…. We bind evil spirit’s in the name of Jesus here on earth and they are bound in heaven. My own assumption here is that they are bound until judgment day. I can’t imagine that God would release them once they are bound . And whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. When we call upon God to open the portals of heaven to release some angels, they are loosed from heaven where their habitation is until they are put on assignment. God has given the angels charge over us.. Psalm 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

So, they are sent by Word. Again it is ye that He is talking to about loosening something on earth that shall be loosed in heaven.

Psalm 103:20
Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice.

In Genesis 28 the angels moved up and down a ladder:

Genesis 28:12
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

We must first be sure that we have all the facts straight. The only way to get truth is through the reading of the Word. So once we have our facts right, we get pretty excited. We become over flowing when we read His Word and then go out and share it and spill His Word out.

Since we here on earth, who work in His garden ... it is up to us to plant the seed of truth and share the seed of that which we have learned. This can stir up anyone who is willing to listen. Truth really does set us free. But it is the Holy Spirit who will prepare the hearts of men and women to receive the truth, but that doesn’t mean that we can not call upon God to prepare a loved ones heart to receive the truth. Hello… We have not because we ask not. It’s all in the asking because God is not a pushy God. He is humble. God has perfect timing for someone who they say doesn’t keep time.

Genesis 17:21
But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. If God didn’t have a sense of time, why did He make a time covenant with Isaac?

Exodus 9:5
And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.

What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? Anyone who is willing to be set aside for God to read His word, to have faith that what God says in His Word that He will do and has done, and to search for Him diligently, they will be rewarded. Anyone who listens to Creflo Dollar knows that the Word is the seed which makes things grow. It was the Word of God that called light.... out of the darkness.... in creation. Now Jesus.... is the light of the world. He was there in the beginning with God and He was God.

Truth speaking to truth. Deep calling unto deep. If we dig deep we will find truth and revelation.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our midst? To pray that God will continue to pour out His Spirit of truth upon all those who are already positioned for His Kingdom work. We can also encourage them by sending financial gifts of seed faith. It does take money to promote truth. How will they go to the uttermost parts of the earth, if they are not sent? We all need to flush our monies into God’s system because if we flush it anywhere else, it is lost seed.
"Prayer is the spirit, speaking truth to truth". Philip James Bailey

by encougaging those with the gift of evagelism, letting them know that they are truly gifted and should be using that gift to further God's Kingdom.

The way they carry themselves and lead their families, they knowledge and being able to lead others to under stand the Gospel of Christ.

We can encourage everyone to pray for those with the gift of evangelism and prsy our selves that the Spirit will use us and them in a mighty way for the praise and glory of the Father.

HOw can we stir up the gift of evangelism among members of our congreation? What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? How can we encourage and stimulate the Spirit-gifted evangelists in our mist?

We can sit and encourage the person to be bold for the Lord and we can pray for the people who have the desire or even the gift of evangelizing. There is bible studies for them as well and classes in the church for teaching of evangelism. The earmarks could be that in conversations they can bring the Word into the conversations alot and in studies in the church itself,it all has to do with the guidance of the Holy Spirirt.

We can stir up the gift of evangelism in our congregations by watching those around us who seem to have that gift and give them opportunies & encouragement & direction.

To me, the person with this gift has no trouble getting people to listen, has a Spirit-led way of knowing exactly what to say to each person & can present the gospel in a winsome manner.

Tell them that. Encourage them to use the gift they have.
