As "mediator" of a new covenant, Jesus act as a go-between, He intercedes to God on behalf of the people praying that they keep their part to the covenant so that they may obtain blessings and the promises of the covenant.

My questions are "What was going on between Father and Jesus when the world was being created, and then when He was here?" I'm also trying to develop as a writer, and clarify my thoughts on paper. I've just completed the Life Coaching qualification and want to focus on life skills for youth in order to win some for him. At my age this is probably a laugh, but then Sarah laughed, didn't she?

I value being able to write and read the responses of others, because they offer a different perspective from mine.

Q1. (Hebrews 8:6) In what sense is Jesus the "mediator" of a new covenant? What did he do to mediate this?

Jesus mediated the new covenant by being here on earth as one of us (seeing that there was not one of us who could negotiate with satan on God's terms!) He was the form of God that we could comprehend. He took the form of Man (human flesh) in order to take back the lost territory that man had given away. He could touch both us and the Father! He was both the promise of God to us, and the response of men to the Father. He was the go-between , taking us with Him if we will. He was the covenant between God and man, and He offered Himself as the one to be cursed, so eager was He to overcome our curse.

He actually became the unblemished sacrificial lamb for all time. offering His own body in favour of us, because satan could not deal with Him or those He would cover.

The old covenant was the covenant of law between God and Israel. The new and better way is the covenant of grace-- Christ offered Himself in order to mediate the new covenant. Christ's offer to forgive our sins and bring us to God through his sacrificial death. This covenant is new in extent-- It goes beyond Israel and Judah to include all the Gentle nations. It is a new application because it is written on our hearts and in our minds. It offers a new way to forgiveness, not through animal sacrifices but through faith.

He is our mediator because He brings us before the Father as blameless, when the devil bring upour sins. He became our mediator when He died to save us from our sins. When He sat down at the right hand of Power He became our defender and Saviour from the sins we fall into through the weakness in our flesh, Glory to God for the promise He has saw fit to make to us through His Son.

Jesus is the mediator of a New Covenant between God and man as / when He died on the cross, which removed our sins and the sins of the people of Israel who broke the old covenant by touching the Ark of the Covenant and not keeping it in its holy place, among many other sins. No earthly high priest could do this - mediate between God and man for the purpose of removing the sins of man and starting fresh again with a New Covenant given by God. Only Jesus who reigns as High Priest in Heaven at our Father's side, could possibly do this.

(Hebrews 8:6) In what sense is Jesus the "mediator" of a new covenant?

* because of God's love, he sent Jesus to serve as the "mediator" of a New Covenant. "Mediator" is mesitēs, "one who mediates between two parties to remove a disagreement or reach a common goal, mediator, arbitrator"

* Between God and man a covenant is accompanied by signs, sacrifices, and a solemn oath that sealed the relationship with promises of blessing for keeping the covenant and curses for breaking it.

What did he do to mediate this?

* Jesus' service as priest 2 is not in the earthly, man-made tabernacle, 3 but in the original, true 4 sanctuary 5 that God himself has set up for himself in heaven.

Jesus became our mediator when He conquered death, hell and the grave and ascended to the right hand of God in heaven. In doing this He established the New Testament (covenant), that which contains far better promises than the Old, eg; eternity with Him in heaven. He is continually interceding for you and me, a go between us and the Father

The priests were the mediators before Christ, the sin offerings were brought to them and they offered it to the LORD. Jesus became our sin offering and our mediator. For those who live by the law; Jesus quickly pointed out that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and all require an atonement for sin. We too must live by the law or deny that our sins must be forgiven. The law has change a bit because now we live by the spirit of the law and not by the letter of the law. The spirit of the law in some respects is much harder to obey than the letter. (just one point: The letter says that one must not commit murder. The spirit says that hating someone is like murder.)

The old sacrifice was not perfect, Jesus became our perfect atoning sacrifice. Perfect because Gods plan is perfect, no other sacrifice lives forever. Think about it, once the sacrifice was burned it was gone, Jesus lives!! He also became our mediator when he rose from the grave and ascended to heaven, seated at the right hand of the Father.

Christ is our Mediator of the new Covenant in that, He is always seated at right hand of God praying for us. He was the final, perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Jesus is the mediator between God & man in the New Covenant because he died on the cross for our sins which separated us from God. Each time we pray He is there interceding for us to the Father.

Jesus is our mediator because He was sent by God. He goes before God and intercedes for us .

What did he do to mediate this?

Jesus became our mediator of the new covenant when He went to the Cross and died for us. rolleyes.gif

If we meet today and you forget me, you have lost nothing. But if you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you have lost everything.

There is more joy in Jesus in 24 hours than there is in the world in 365 days. I know, I've tried them both.

The people of Israel broke the Old Covenant bringing upon the people an awful curse. But because of God's love, he sent Jesus to serve as the "mediator" of a New Covenant. "Jesus died on the cross to mediate this.

Jesus is mediator in that He brought peace between us and God while we were still at war with Him by paying the penalty of death in our stead. He shed His own blood on the cross that we may have peace with God. That is the New Covenant. Jesus is our peace with God to everlasting life with God in Christ.

Q1. (Hebrews 8:6) In what sense is Jesus the "mediator" of a new covenant?
Jesus is the atonement for our sins. He shed blood to free of from the slavery of sin and his death is our final judgement against our sins.

What did he do to mediate this?
Jesus gave of himself freely, lovingly, and willingly. He died for our sakes giving us a new covenant with God a covenant of grace. Freeing us from the slavery of sins and from the death sentence for our sins.

Jesus promised us blessings for keeping the covenant . He is our way to the Father. We have to go through Him and the Holy Spirit to get to Father God. He shed His blood ONCE for ALL. Jesus is a righteous person that sacrificed Himself rather than the involuntary sacrifice of animals for blood.

Jesus is the perfect mediator between us and God. Christ mediates for us to God.
Jesus was sent for us to be that final perfect sacrifice, to die on the cross, to rebridge the gap between God and ourselves.
