Q5. (Hebrews 13:16, 20-21) What are the actual requests being made of God in this great benediction?
God is being asked to equip the believer with all that he needs to do the will of God.
What "pleases" God according to verses 16 and 20?
God is pleased when we do good and share what we have with those in need. He is also pleased when we do His will.
Why should we "make it our aim to please him" (2 Corinthians 5:9, NRSV)?
We should make it our business to please God to bring Him glory. For that we were created.

Since these Jewish Christians ; because of their witness to the Messiah, no longer worshiped with other Jews, they should consider praise and acts of service their sacrifice-- ones they could offer anywhere , anytime .This must have reminded them of the prophet Hosea's words, " Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips." ( Hosea 14:2, )A sacrifice on the cross and telling others about it. Acts of kindness and sharing are particularly pleasing to God even when they go unoticed by others. ( Hebrews 11: 5-6 ) talks about Enoch and how he pleased God with his faith. Also verse 6 says without faith it is impossible to please God.
This verse includes two results of Christ's death; and resurrection, God works in us to make us the kind of people that would please Him, and He equips us to do the kind of work that would please Him. God wants to change us from within and then use us to help others.
( 2 Corinthians 5: 9 ) While eternal life is a free gift given on the basis of God's grace to each of us we will still be judged by Christ. This judgement will reward us for how we have lived. God's precious gift of salvation does not free us from the requirements for faithful obedience. All Christians must give account for how they have lived, Living according to God's will, being obedient to what the word tells us. Let our lives represent Christ to glorify Him and the father. We were created for His Glory.

Requests in this benediction are to do good & share with others, be equipped to do His will.
These things please God. He wants us to grow & help others grow too. Praise Him!

We are required to do good and share, to obey those who rule over us, be submissive (I believe that means actively co-operative and contributing positively to the programs they have established) in order to bring the pastors joy, and to pray for pastors as Paul asked the Hebrews to pray for him.
We make it our aim to please Him because He has built our real home (Not made with hands) in Heaven with Him, and that's where we want to be eventually! Also, and more so, because He is totally worthy of all our praise and worship and adoration.

heb.13:16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
I see a request that God, through Jesus make us perfect in our works for Him that His will and His will only be done in our lives.
Pleasing to God is our doing good and sacrificing our lives to Him for His Glory. The blood of the everlasting covenant, which would be that of Jesus makes Him pleased.
2Cor.5: 9Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
Paul is saying it is our duty to labor so that we can be accepted of Him. I believe that He is saying that we should work that we please God in all we do so that He will accept our sacrifice as good and Holy to Him and that wheather He leaves us here or takes us to be with Him He will be pleased with us and all we have done.

To do good, to communicate, and to live our lives for Him.

That we do as the Father has done.That we be equipped to do His will and that He may work in us and through us.
That we not forget to do good and share with others the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our only goal should be to please God either here or there, because we must all face judgement for what we have done or not done while here on earth.

The requests being made of God in the subject verses are for Christians to do good works to all people. Lest we forget, those who are well off need help spiritually as well as the poor need help spiritually and materially. We also need to keep God on our lips continually in praise and in our conversation. He truly takes great pleasure in this.
Those who are Christians should live to please God and they should know why they must.

God is being asked..(as our creator, who through His peace and the blood of His eternal covenant, brought our Lord Jesus, our Shepherd, back from the dead).. that He will give us, who love Him, everything we need to do His will, so that He can complete His will in us and be pleased -- all being done through Jesus Christ to whom be glory for ever.
God is asked to bring peace to us and show us how to seek that peace with Him - through the blood of Jesus (His eternal covenant to us), through His wonderous resurrection, and who earned His place at God's right hand as our great high priest - - all - - on behalf of every one of us.
God is pleased by seeing His will manifested in our lives. We should aim to please Him so that we can be resident in the City of God that is yet to come, and abide with Him eternally.

God is requesting us to thank Him for His Son Jesus Christ Who died on the cross for our sins.

1) We are requested to do everything good for doing his will, so that God can work in us and make sure that everyone can see your good deeds and continuallly praise God.
2) We should make it our aim to please God no matter where we are or what we are doing, because he loves us and has done so much for us and deserves all of the honor and the glory.

The actual request of God from the writer are two things: 1) The readers be equipped with everything needed for doing God's will. 2) That the work God sets us to do is pleasing to him.
So what is the will of God. Check it out, the will of God is found in John 3:16. And the result in our llives will be found in John 3:21.

In this passage, the writer of Hebrews is asking God to equip the saints with everything good for doing His will and may that work be pleasing to Him. What pleases God is delighting in Him; loving Him; praising Him and serving others with love, compassion, mercy in the name of Jesus Christ.

The actual requests being made by God in this benediction are that He wants our light to shine before men in order that they may see our good deeds and thus give God praise. He also requests that we do His will in order that He might work in us.
We should make it our aim to please God because He sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and gave us eternal life that we might be with Him forever.

The requests being made of God are that he equip you with everything good for doing his will and that he work in us what is pleasing to him. It pleases God when we do good and share with others. It should be our aim to please Him because he has made the ultimate sacrifice - his son for our sins.
