One like the Son of man -( human being ) came with the clouds of heaven and brought to the Ancient of Days.

The Ancient of Days gave onto this Son of man dominion, glory and a kingdom.

That the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven and that The Ancient of Days gave him dominion, glory and power and that we are to serve Him and His Kingdom will reign forever and will never be destroyed.

Q1. (Daniel 7:13-14)
What are the elements of Daniel's prophecy of "one like a son of man"?
What is He given by the Ancient of Days?
What clues do you have to the divinity of "one like a son of man" in Daniel's prophecy?

In this vision Daniel saw the Son of Man approaching the Ancient of Days and given authority to establish a Kingdom.
The first element of this prophecy is that the Son of Man is Jesus Christ - Jesus often used this to refer to Himself.
Next, Jesus is brought into the presence of the Ancient of Days, our Heavenly Father, and is given all authority, glory, and sovereign power over all peoples, and nations.
Finally, Jesus Christ establishes an everlasting Kingdom that will not pass away, and will never be destroyed.

The Ancient of Days (our LORD) confers on Christ all authority, glory, and sovereign power over all peoples and nations, and men of every language.
This is in keeping with the Father’s promise to the Son in Psalm 2:6-9: “I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father. Ask of Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession. You will rule them with an iron sceptre; You will dash them to pieces like pottery" Psalm 2:7-9.
The Son of Man will establish an everlasting dominion or kingdom – a Kingdom will never be conquered by another.
And will be fulfilled at Christ’s Second Advent: "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, He will sit on His throne in heavenly glory” Matt 25:31.

We know that “one like a son of man” refers to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
The Son of Man is the One who is able to stand in the presence of God.
This is the One who is worthy to receive authority, glory, and power.
This is the One who came to earth and reflected the glory of God in His obedience to the Father.
This is the One who just before He was taken up in the clouds said “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matthew 28:18).
All this leaves in no doubt as to the identity of this “Son of Man”.
We must also remember that Jesus uses this title almost exclusively in referring to Himself.

Daniel sees one who looks human ("like a son of man") but is in fact the divine heir of the Kingdom of God.  Appears to be human, but is "coming with the clouds."

He was given authority, glory and sovereign power.

The Son of Man in Daniel's prophecy is a divine figure who reigns forever and ever.

  • Authority,
  • Glory,
  • Sovereign power

What clues do you have to the divinity of “one like a son of man” in Daniel’s prophecy?

The eternal nature of the kingdom by His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

What clues do you have to the divinity of “one like a son of man” in Daniel’s prophecy? Son of Man is given authority, honor, and royal rulership. The kingdom of God is in his hand. Also, the Son of Man is the object of worship of everyone on the earth. Only a deity is worthy of this kind of worship.

The phrase "son of man" takes on an exalted meaning in Daniel's prophecy.  He refers to the "son of man" coming in the clouds. No one else in the Bible "comes in the clouds" but Yahweh Himself.  This "son of man" now refers to deity

In Daniel the Ancient of Days clearly denotes Yahweh the King, seated in all His glory. The Son of Man appears before the Most High God and was given authority, honor and royal rulership.  The Kingdom of God is in His hands.

The clues given to His divinity is the eternal nature of His Kingdom. Everlasting, will not pass away, will never be destroyed.  This is the Kingdom spoken of in Daniel's interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's dream. (Daniel 2:44)

One element of Daniel’s prophesy is God’s Divinity. Although The Son of man has the appearance of  human form, He is a Divine Being.   He is the Messiah.  Another element is that His dominion is forever.  He will rule all the people of the world.  He is invincible and his kingdom will not end.

By the ancient days, the Son of Man is given authority to rule the world.   He has sovereign power over the world. “even the seas and the winds obey Him” Mark 4:35-41  The Son of Man is to be revered by all.  “Therefore God exalted him to the highest places and gave Him the name that is above every name that at His name every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under earth and every tongue should acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11.  There is no one higher in authority of power and yet He shows us His humility. He has a plan for us which He tries to reveal to us and urge us in that direction.  He has however given us the freedom to choose.

The son of Man is Omnipresent.  “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10  His spirit is always with us. He is omniscient and omnipotent.  His kingdom exists today and will continue for evermore.  He was tempted by Satan, He was persecuted and crucified for our sins but he lives.

1. He looks like a human.

2. He comes with the clouds of heaven (infers divinity)

3. He approaches the Ancient of Days and comes into His presence (infers divinity)

4. He is given authority, glory, and sovereignty (infers divinity)

5  He is worthy of worship by every tongue, tribe, and nation (infers divinity)

6. His dominion (kingdom) is an everlasting dominion (infers divinity)

It always amazes me how God condescends down to us.  We cannot even image His power and might, His holiness and purity and yet He condescends down to us.  He sets us where we are and walks with us through the details of life.

"Amazing love how can it be that thou my God hast died for me."

God Bless!

Q1. (Daniel 7:13-14) What are the elements of Daniel's prophecy of "one like a son of man"?

In the Lessons on Daniel, I came across the Aramaic (the language at the time of Jesus) phrase, “bar enasha” which literally means a “son of a human being.” I feel that Jesus drew His ideas from Daniel to express His identity as the “Son of Man” to His listeners.

What is he given by the Ancient of Days?

As written in the Book, the Son of Man “was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed."(Dan 7:14)

What clues do you have to the divinity of "one like a son of man" in Daniel's prophecy?

First, we need to know who else besides God can have dominion over God’s Kingdom – only a divine and eternal One, right ? As mentioned, in the Gospel of Mark Jesus asserts that He is the Messiah and the Son of God in answer to the high priest but in a quick turn of events amends the titles to His preferred terminology the “Son of Man.”

"I am," said Jesus. "And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." (Mk 14:62) I believe that this text clearly explains the divinity of Jesus.

The elements of Danial's prophecy of "One like a Son of Man" are he has come before the Ancient od Days, he is in human form. He rides on the clouds.

From the Ancient of Day's, he is given authority, glory and sovereign power.

one like a son of manwho was, coming with the clouds of heaven.

He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

firstly the term used to describe this one is " one like a son of man " which is the term which Jesus use to describe himself throughout the Gospels. As well this Ancient of Days was riding in the clouds which is a privilege which was the used and held only by God himself. Thirdly he is given Authority, power and Sovereign power. These are things that only God his and can I give to his son.

This one “who looked like a man” is the Messiah. Jesus used this verse to refer to himself (Matthew 26:64; Luke 21:27; John 1:51). The clouds of heaven portray the Son of Man as divine; throughout the Bible, clouds represent his majesty and awesome presence. God’s glory appeared in a cloud in Exodus 16:10 and 19:9 at the giving of the law at Sinai.

Jesus was born of man but he came from God.  He came to us as a human being, . He is given all authority, sovereignty and glory over all.  Jesus is everlasting and will never leave us.

Q1. (Daniel 7:13-14) What are the elements of Daniel's prophecy of "one like a son of man"? I'm not sure what this question is asking in regard to 'elements.'  I see much significance in it saying the 'son of man' instead of the Son of God.  Jesus became man to restore us, mankind,  to our position as Sons of God.  He comes on the clouds of heaven.    Hebrews 12 starts with talking about the great cloud of witnesses and ends with us needing to be thankful and worship God acceptably because we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.   "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great crowd of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.  And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith....  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." (Heb. 12)

What is he given by the Ancient of Days? Authority, glory and sovereign power.

What clues do you have to the divinity of "one like a son of man" in Daniel's prophecy?  He comes on the clouds.  This is also in reference to God.  He is taken before the Ancient of Days and was given authority, glory and sovereign power, which belong to God.
