Doesn't this passage teach against cremation? If the angels return and reunite with their bodies, what happens if there is no body?

We who believe that when death comes to the body, our soul will be in the presence of the Lord; therefore we will not miss the glory of his second coming.

Each believer at the rapture and those who've died "in Christ" will rise (the dead first, then the living raptured will meet them in the air) and all will be given their new glorified bodies. After the marriage supper of the lamb in Heaven, we will return with Him to reign on earth for 1,000 years.

On that day, Christ brings with Him those who have died in Christ, their bodies will be resurrected and reunited with their spirits. All those who have died in Christ will rise first, being caught up in the air, and will be given their glorified bodies.

Believers who have died in him will be resurrected & given new bodies. Someone mentioned before about cremation--no body to resurrect. How about if they were in the ocean and a shark ate them? Same thing. I believe God, the creator will be able to put the bodies back together!

He will be accompanied by all those believers who died prior to that day and all his angels!! What a glorious celebration!

Q2. (1 Thessalonians 4:14)

How will Christ bring with him those believers who have previously died?

According to Matthew 25:31, who will also will accompany Christ when he returns?

Unlike unbelievers we have a revelation from God that gives us hope for a glorious future with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We know that when Jesus died, He was resurrected by our Heavenly Father, and in the same way we will be resurrected with Christ at His Second Coming. A trumpet blast will usher in the new heaven and earth and “in the the twinkling of an Eye” Christ will return. All believers will be going with Christ and will be transformed – those alive will receive new bodies and those already dead will be raised out of their graves also with new bodies. When the Lord comes to earth in glory with His angels and saints, there will be no opportunity for unbelievers then living to receive Him as Messiah. Accompanying and assisting the Lord at His appearing in glory and judgment will be the magnificent host of all His heavenly angels. At that time, Paul says, "the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus" (2 Thess. 1:7-8).

Jesus is going to bring with Him the believers who have already died in the faith because they have been with him since their physical death. Jesus did tell his disciples he was going to make a place for them in his Father's house. A place has been made for us in Heaven until the end of the age; judgment; and arrival of the New Jerusalem on earth.

According to Matthew 25:31, all of the angels will be coming with him at his second advent.

Q2. (1 Thessalonians 4:14) How will Christ bring with him those believers who have previously died?

Just exactly how Christ will do that we can only guess. Those who have previously died are with Jesus in Heaven and will be brought back with Him and their spirits will be reunited with their bodies.

Now I read another post here regarding cremation. Nothing is too hard for God. There wouldn't be much difference between cremation and, say, being eaten by a wild animal. The dead person would be digested and there wouldn't be much left of them. God won't repair the dead people's decaying bodies. The spirits of the dead will be clothed in a brand new one. So the state of the remains won't matter in the slightest.

The dead in Christ will be given an imperishable body and we who are alive at that time will be changed in the blink of an eye. We too will suddenly find ourselves in our brand new imperishable body. According to Scripture we'll see the dead raised and/or transformed, then we will be transformed.

According to Matthew 25:31, who will also will accompany Christ when he returns?

A vast army of angels will accompany Christ at His return. That puts paid to the teaching of one branch of Christendom that is telling their acolytes that Jesus has returned on the quiet and has been ruling the world since 1914. Two of them used to come and visit me regularly. They really believe that. My reply was that, without even looking at the Bible I could say that if I were Jesus and were given power and authority I wouldn't have let World War One happen for starters!
