Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

Who He was:

Mary would give birth 'to a son' and she should call him 'Jesus' (v.31)

Who He will be:

He will 'be great', will be called 'the Son of the Most High', (v.32)

God will give him he 'throne of his father David' - so as a direct decendent, a 'son' of King David, he will become a dynastic King and will 'reign over the house of Jacab forever' (v.33)

But he was also the 'Holy One' the 'Son of God' so he will be king due to His divinity not just His lineage. (v.35)

oh and His Kingdom will have no end!!!

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

The angel's announcement said that Mary's child should be named Jesus and that He would be known as the Son of the Most High God. He would inherit the throne of His father David and rule over the house of Jacob forever; thus fulfilling the promise that was spoken to king David in the book of 2 Samuel 7:16.

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?

The Angel told Mary that His name would be called Jesus, the Son of the Most High God, that He would be given the throne of His forefather David. (more over....) the Angel also established that Jesus is the Messiah (Isaiah 9:6,7).

~ His name would be Jesus, that in itself an indication of His role here on earth

~He would be great--a Son of the Most High

~He would reign over Israel as the promised Son of David, the Messiah, with an eternal kingdom

Imagine how Mary must have felt. In her childhood as a Jewish person, she would have undoubtedly been taught of the coming Messiah and waited with expectancy for Him, and then to find that she would be the one throught which the Messiah would be born. What a humbling and overwhelming thing this must have been for her.

His name will be Jesus.

He will be great, having a high position and being a person of importance.

He will be the son of the most high or God's son.

The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. He is the long awaited King of the Jews, here to reign over God's kingdom.

And his kingdom will never end. He will reign forever

Gabriel told Mary that the child she was that she was to bear was to be the Son of the Most High God, El'Elyon. And, by naming Him Yeshua (the equivalent of Jesus in Hebrew) she was also told that He would be God's salvation as Yeshua means "Yahweh saves". He would become great, inherit the throne of His forefather David and rule the house of Jacob eternally.
