Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come?

The antichrist that John expects to come is the antichrist as described by the prophet Daniel and spoken of by Jesus. This antichrist will set up in the temple "an abomination that causes desolation" (Daniel 9:27); and causes the unbelievers to worship him (Rev. 13:8).

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to?

Both are adversaries of Christ and will lead people astray to worship Satan. The antichrist that they were experiencing was teaching false doctrine and promoting lawlessness even though the man of lawlessness was yet to be revealed his work already influenced the church.

In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day?

We see the spirit of antichrist in the world through the persistence of false doctrine that denied that Jesus is God and came to this world in the flesh and we see the temptation and yielding of believers to immoral behavior unbecoming of Christians.

Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come? I think that John is less concerned with the man of lawlessness, this unique man and his role in the end time drama than he is with the false teachers or actors that were on the stage in this day that we are studying. His concern is related to those who went out from them, but they were not of them because they denied that Yahshua was the Messiah and that He came in the flesh and body of a human being.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to?

The anti-christ is a certain man of lawlessness (son of perdition) that will one day stand in the temple and claim that He is God and in all reality, this man should not be standing in the temple at all. We have scriptures that warn us of his coming.

¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. (2nd Thes 2:3, Daniel 7:25, Eph 5:6)

Where the future antichrist is a certain and literal man, a particular personage or power, variously identified or explained, who is conceived of as appearing in the world as the principal antagonist of Christ., the difference is that anyone who does not believe that Yahushua came in the flesh is against the will of Yahowah and is considered anti-Christ; a disbeliever in Christ. A person who is influenced by the spirit of antichrist.

In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day? O my goodness, should we really need to answer this? I think the spirit of the soon to come anti-Christ started to rise on the day that America accepted the judgment of the Supreme Court when they announced their decision in Roe - vs- Wade. Then it was prayer out of schools, then the ten commandments out from the public eye and then popular entertainment personas coming out of the closet, then their in your face I want my rights as a homosexual, then I want to be married and now you have to change your law so that I can be and it has so escalated in the past two years that our heads are spinning with nausea.

But we are so often reminded that this too will pass and the kingdom of Yahowah will come and Yahshua will reign here on earth because the armies which were in heaven will follow Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

(Revelations 19:14-15, Zechariah 14:16 -21)

The antichrist John is referring to in 1John is the teaching that Jesus did not live as a man. He is referring to any teaching that deviates from the teaching that is from the biblical text or first (true) teachings of Christianity.

As I understand it, the antichrist in Daniel will actually be a man, a figure that will set himself up as a christ and decieve many.

The antichrist that John warns of here is "the one who denies the Father and the Son ". This spirit of rebellion was prophesied many years before the Son came to earth as Jesus the Christ and has been operating against Him since the Church was established. I believe John recognized that this spirit of rebellion, demonstrated in many, was the precursor for a specific one who is to appear on the scene during a specific time in human history. He twice warned is verse 18 that "it is the last hour". I think this means that on the overall timeline, the age of the Church is part of the time when the clock is ticking down, and at some point in these waning hours, this one antichrist will appear. This individual is clearly identified elsewhere with "the abomination that makes desolate" (Daniel 12:11, Matthew 24:15) of the great tribulation, as he comes against God's people in an unprecedented (and prophesied) way.

Just as in the earliest days of the Church, false doctrines and perversions of truth abound today. The deity of Christ and the sinfulness of humanity is denied. People are encouraged by smiling television preachers to seek what feels good and builds them up. Many sit in churches every week listening to powerless messages that are ashamed of the Gospel of Christ. False religions are drawing people like never before. Even people of faith are often overcome by the stench of decaying morality and integrity - just look at statistics on divorce, out-of-wedlock pregnancy, homosexuality, substance abuse, suicide, etc.etc. - within the church. Anything except the pure doctrine of eternal life from the Father through the Son is anti-Christ.

Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come?

I believe John had faith in the word that the Antichrist, the beast, the one he read about in Daniel 9:27, the one who will one day exalt himself above God, will one day come, and I believe he expected to see it come to pass.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to?

The Antichrist John writes about is the prince of the world, the evil one, or the devil. Whether we like it or not the time will come when Satan will set up his rule for a short time. How do I know, it is written in God's word. Rev. 20:1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit[a] and a heavy chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon

Q1. (1 John 2:18) What is this antichrist that John expects to come?

The world wide dictator who is empowered by Satan who makes war against Christians, and who will declare himself to be God and demand worship from unbelievers. He will enter the Holy of Holies in the temple which will be rebuilt and sacrifice a pig in order to desecrate the temple.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to?

Because Satan is among us and he is at war with God, he has been involved since the beginning trying to destroy. First working through Cain to kill the Messianic seed (Abel), killed Hebrew children at Goshen trying to kill the seed, was at work in the Jewish leaders who nailed Jesus the Messiah to the cross (though each of us died with Him that day), has been at work in individuals and leaders in the Church since that day, trying to pervert the Gospel, deny it's power to save, heal and deliver, destroy Pastors in order to destroy the flock they lead, promote the lie that Jesus is never coming back, was at work in the witches who came to infiltrate our congregation "to destroy the ministry". (When Pastor discerned who they were and asked them to leave and not come back, one returned to tell him they were a coven assigned to tear down this church by infiltrating all areas, and she asked for forgiveness, and told him part of their initiation was into lesbian relationships within the group. She thanked him for exposing them, and said she left the group.)

In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day?

We see persecution and martyrdom of Christians, situations like I mentioned above, deceivers who get on television and radio calling themselves Christians, but who preach a false gospel, or rather than preaching about sin and repentance and the cleansing Blood of Jesus, instead preach on how to get rich. One such pastor asked to preach at a large church but part of his deal was that in order to come he required $40,000.00 to pay for his private Jet's fuel. (He was denied and exposed)

One self proclaimed "messiah" took out a full page ad in the paper we subscribed to years ago, saying "I have come"...Cults of all kinds abound, denying the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and offering "salvation" through works of the flesh.

Until recent years, children were considered a gift from God, but the antichrist spirit has endeavored to slaughter nearly 60 million of these precious lives on the altar of Baal....or Planned Parenthood, etc. We've killed an entire generation of God's babies.

Jack Black, an actor/comedian recently asked the audience at an awards t.v. show to join him as he prayed to Satan. In Ca. we voted down gay marriage, but liberal judges are fighting to subvert the "will of the People and the laws of the land" in order to further tear down God's plan for marriage between a man and a woman. Political correctness, rampant immorality and the double standard and corruption in Washington are destroying that which our nation's fore Fathers shed their blood to give birth to( the Constitution), calling it now "a living document, subject to the whims of the current administration. I believe this is the set up for the true anti Christ world ruler who will appear after the stage is set completely for his arrival... people in complete bondage to the government rather than in dependence upon the loving, eternal, one true God and Father and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Antichrist John is writing about is the real deal. He will make peace with Israel for three and one half years. Then he will defile the temple that he let them rebuild, this is the abomination of desolation. The Israel will know that they have been deceived. The difference between the ones in the church now and the real deal is that anybody that is against Christ is Antichrist. This real antichrist will have the power of Lucifer and will deceive many. The spirit of antichrist is running rampage in our churches today because people are coming to church to get something that they have not earn. God has not changed. He will do what he says if we do what he says. Love the Lord God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself, with these two simple commandments all things will work out for the good.

I think the antichrist is an actual person who is a true adversary of Christ. The antichrists in the church are those who behave immorally and/or deny that Christ was God in the Flesh, that he was at once divine and a man.

We see the spirit of the antichrist at work in our day as it was in John's time, in our dark walk toward the end, where we slaughter each other, destroy the gifts that God has given us, the earth and each other. We live in a materialistic world where little thought or only lip service is given to Christ and His teachings.

We must strive daily and be humble about our strivings, and thankful, to accept the sacrifice Christ has given us and to feel Spirit and let it direct our paths. It seems that if we are not constantly striving, we can be swayed by the World, which is indeed Godless.

What is this antichrist that John expects to come?

the prince of hatred, the dark source of despair.

What is the difference between the antichrist and antichrists in the church John is writing to?

there is a huge difference, the antichrist is a pure nasty hatred.

I suspect these people simply had a different point of view.

In what ways do we see the spirit of antichrist at work in our day?

an unwillingness to understand others

an absence of love for others

a desire to be loved rather than to love

may all those in need find Peace and Love and Strength

He is anyone that speaks against the church and the love that Jesus requires us to show others. He is anyone that trys to cause believers to stumble and fall or be turned aways fromthe truth. The differance I see is that the one is a true desciple of satan and trying to destroy the church and the others are just unlearn people who fail to understand the truth of Jesus and His coming. We here in the US see it more and more latly when thing are changed to offend Jesus, when even the man elected president can stand and say that America in no longer a christian nation and then disallow the National Day of Prayer, yet in the same breath allow the prade of Musulms to have there way the antichrist is making heis presence known here.

John warns about an antichrist that will arise prior to the coming of Christ and pretend to be Christ. The antichrists John was referring to are the false teachers that were in the church during his time, and are in the church even today. These are false teachers who offer a false Jesus and a false gospel. He especially warns those who are young in the faith and have not developed a proper power of discernment, and who are therefore especially susceptible to lies. It is remarkable that the day in which we live is characterized by the existence of many Christ-denying cults, and these all bear testimony to the fact that the coming of the Saviour is near.

These are the people who are denying and twisting the truth that Jesus is

the Christ and they are in our church today. The very difference of the

antichrist and the antichrist in the church that John referring to is that

they don't have the power to perform miracles such as rising the dead.

We have a lot of different denomination with different teaching about Jesus

Christ.

Many people in history have acted in the spirit of the antichrist - just like christians have to act in the Holy Spirit.

Muhammad for example denied that Jesus is the Son and this is just one of the evil things an antichrist can do.

There are also false teachers within the church (the pope, respectfully) or people who deny there is a God (Richard Dawkins and many others).

In my country, 'ryki' is very popular now, in which you can study in order to get more and more supernatural powers.

In the last days, the ultimate antichrist will come, who is a servant of Satan (Revelations 13).

We do not know him yet but we will recognize him when he is there.
