Q1. (Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:20; Luke 3:21-22) In what ways is the Holy Spirit active in establishing Jesus’ core identity as Son of God as Jesus came to earth? How does the Holy Spirit establish your core identity as a disciple of Jesus?

The Holy Spirit continues to move through Ezekiel prophesy from the old testament and manifests himself in the gospel of Mathew and Luke establishing Jesus core identity as the son of God.

The Holy Spirit establishes myself as a disciple of Jesus after being baptised in the spirit.

Q4. (Joel 2:28-32; Ezekiel 36:26-27; 37:14; 39:29) What promises do we find in Joel and Ezekiel concerning the Holy Spirit? Who are the recipients of these promises?

God through Joel promises that he will pour out his Spirit on all people during this last days. Sons and daughters will prophesy, old men will dream dreams, young men will see visions and even his servants both men and women.

God through Ezekiel promises to give us a new heart and put a new spirit within us. He will remove from us our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. And God will put his Spirit in us and move us to follow his decrees and be careful to keep his laws.

All those that believe that Jesus is the way the truth and the life are the recipients of this promises.

Q3. (Isaiah 11:1-2; 42:1; 61:1-2) What promises does God make through Isaiah the prophet concerning the Holy Spirit and the Messiah? How were these fulfilled?

God promises and prophecise through Isaiah that he will put his 7 Spirit (Spirit of the Lord, spirit of wisdom and understanding, spirit of council and might, spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord) on the messiah, Jesus Christ.

This was fulfilled in the New Testament when the 7 Spirits of God was manifested and revealed through the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

I would like to go back further and interestingly note that the holy spirit in Genesis 1...."And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters," is the same spirit that prophesied through Isaiah and revealed himself in the New Testament through the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The holy spirit is the link and the operating agent between the old Testament and new Testament allowing God's will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
