The true shepherd lay down his life for the sheep, so that the sheep may have life and that they may have it more abundantly, that way the thief will be able to steal, kill and destroy, Jesus did this by dying for the disciples and us, the punishment we deserved for our sinful nature, he took it, through the cross and rising from the dead, Jesus showed them that the hireling, the one who do not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, so he shows that the hireling do not care about the sheep, examples where Christ's servants did that, Paul and Silas got arrested for preaching the good news, Stephanie was stoned to death for proclaiming Jesus,

What happens when we act independently of the Shepherd? We create issues with God’s perfect plan.
What causes sheep to stray? It is their nature. That grass looks better. Wonder if that might be tasty. Philip Kellers books on the sheep and the Good Sheperd are very instructive. Calling us His sheep was not a compliment but a truth that we needed constant care and the shepherds attention.

Knowing the Shepherd's voice and obeying it is so important because we wont be led astray, when we act independently of the Shepherd make us to lose our ways, because the Bible tells us that He goes before us, and calls us by our names. the sheep go stray when do not know the voice of strangers.

Q4. (Matthew 18:23-35) In the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant, where do you see justice? Where do you see grace? Where do you see greed? Where do you see unforgiveness? What lessons from this parable are disciples to incorporate into their lives?
i see justice where the Master made an evil servant to pay his debts also, for the Word of God says do unto people what will want to be done to you, i see grace where the Master forgives the huge debt, i see greed where an evil servant want to collect his credit after he had been forgiven of his, i see unforgiveness where the debtor pleads for mercy and an evil servant doesnt want to forgive i also see it in the Master, he didnt truly forgive the servant because when he learnt what he did, he resurrected the matter, lessons i learn from this parable is that love is gentle, and we should love others as we love ourselves, forgive those who have wronged us, have pity for others, just as God had pitied us, when we were deep in our sins and we couldnt do anything for ourselves, i also learn that we should carry others burden, the Master for a while he felt the burden that man had hence why he cleared the debt.

The sharp and tasty witness is important to light the world, and cannot be hidden. Bland witness is like the salt which has lost its flavor, we stay salty by becoming obedient to God's word, and do what is needed. People are tempted to hide their light when they live life's not pleasing to God, Jesus says witnesses not pleasing are good for nothing, but are to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
