  1. Q5. (Hebrews 2:16-18) Why in God's plan did Jesus have to become human like us? How does his humanity provide encouragement and help to us when we are in trouble?

The qualification for kinsman redemption required Him to be made like His brethren. This gives experience in His high priestly office, compassion through His first-hand experience. Jesus experienced fear (although He was perfect in love) so that we have confidence when we fear... the we can go to Him in prater.

  2. Q4. (Hebrews 2:14-15) What was the purpose of Christ's death according to verses 14 and 15? In what sense is this mission accomplished? In what sense will it see its final completion in the future? What is the result in our lives from Christ's accomplishment?

To defeat the devil and take the keys (authority) of death. To render Satan with the basis of power in the life of the child of God. Thus... delivering them from fear.

  3. Q2. (Hebrews 2:9) In what way did Christ "taste death for everyone"? Why is this so dependent upon God's grace? If Christ died for your blackest and most stubborn sins, what are the implications for you?

By the cross the perfect eternal sacrifice satisfied the judgment of God against the believer. Jesus' death was substitutionary. He took our penalty. We trust Christ's righteousness and not our's. Because Jesus died for my worst.. i can go to heaven.

  4. Q1. (Hebrews 2:9) In what ways did Jesus suffer during his life and death? In what ways are we likely to suffer? Does suffering have any value? What happens when we live in such a way to avoid all suffering?

He suffered a physical death on the cross. His life .. He suffered rejection, grief, heart break, & isolation from the Father. Our suffer can be in any of these, but probably not to His extent. Suffering has value... in any way that we are associated with Christ our character grows. The seeks to avoid all suffering causes us to focus more on the temporal.

  5. Jesus was the Word Incarnate... Left heaven! Isiah stated that the Word would not return VOID... but would accomplish what It was sent to do. Jesus returned to the Father having completed the task He was sent to do. We know that Jesus had a Divine entrance (through Mary) and a Divine exit (through the ascension). The writer of Hebrews calls Jesus the EXPRESS IMAGE. Jesus was the revelation to this world of God's Nature, God's Love, God's desire for a restored fellowship. What I see through Jesus is God's image.
