The whole process is valuable to me. It's a time when I search my heart for sins I need to confess; when I concentrate on what has been done for someone as undeserving as myself; when I truly open my heart to allow the Holy Spirit to enter...it's wonderful!

The words "given", "broken for", "poured out", and "forgiveness" should make us all think of the sacrifice that Jesus made so we can have the forgiveness of our sins and be able to go to heaven. Jesus specifically tells us to do this in REMEMBRANCE of Him.

In my opinion, extreme symbolic interpretation causes us to forget all the meaning behind it. I think it's best to concentrate on the meaning of the love, mercy, and sacrifice that's in it.

I've always looked at it in a figurative fashion. No matter what I say here, I could never say it as beautifully as Pickledilly did.

With more praise and worship. Forget ourselves and concentrate on God.
By not waiting for others to initiate things. Work harder at letting others see Christ in me.

Personal note...thank all of you who have e-mailed me regarding some of my first comments during this forum, and offering your prayers. I had said that in turning to God and getting my life back on track and doing what I knew was right, I was losing everything. God works in mysterious and wonderful ways. During the remainder of this forum, I have found a church with wonderful brother and sisters who have taken me in their hearts. One of the main things I was losing by following God, was the man I love very much. Praise God! We're now married, he's going to church with me, and owns his very first Bible! Again...thank you for your prayers. God bless you all!

No, I don't think I have.
I'd be praying that they allowed God to take up complete residence in their heart and that God would fill it with Himself, until all the bad things were knocked out because there was no more room for them.
It relates to the fact that the more Christ fills the heart, the closer we come to being perfect.

Because Paul wants everyone "to get it"...to fully understand Christ's love. Not just on the surface, but deeply. Understanding this love changes everything about a person. No, I don't believe there's an end to Christ's love.

It's the same thing as christ dwelling in our hearts. We have more control of our lives, when Christ is controlling it. We can pray exactly as Paul did. We need to pray this. Christ can't live in an evil heart...it needs to be clean. When Jesus lives in our heart, we become stronger and stronger.

It gives fuel for our faith.
I need to ask God more to open the eye of my own heart, so I can see it clearer and clearer all the time.
Ask the Holy Spirit to be in them and show them the way.

They won't work very hard at their faith or praying if they don't think there's much to hope for.
The glorious inheritance helps keep us motivated, know that there's something awesome at the end.

My Christian "hope" has kept me alive...literally! Not too long ago, I was suicidal. Now I have hope and excitement for the future. I would pray for others, by praying that they feel God's comforting hand in the midst of the storms in their lives.

He prays without ceasing, with thanks, and specifically. I believe people would still come to know God without Christians praying for them because other things can help lead people to Christ...the way a person lives, for example. But, that being said, the single, most important factor in leading others to Christ, is prayer.

No, He didn't get any special consideration. The same help is at our disposal.

I'm sure the Father was very pleased. He's not pleased when we aren't actively, caringly, and compassionately seeking for His will to be done. We must subit our true feelings to God and then become neutral about the outcome.

He didn't want to endure what He knew was facing Him. He didn't want to be searated from His Tather. The whole thing was going to be terrible and He knew it. He prayed it 3 times, because He didn't want to experience the wrath of God. He wasn't resisting His Father's will, but He did hope there was another way to accomplish His will.

He wanted His disciples to pray because He knew it would give them strength. Since He knew He'd soon be leaving them, they'd be facing all kinds of new temptations. He watned them to pray to not give in to temptations. No, they didn't pray...they fell asleep. "Lead us not into temptation". Jesus wanted to be alone so as not to be disturbed, plus, there are times in our lives, that we need to be alone...to be in pain alone, etc. Sometimes, there are things we can't share with others.

He could have been in danger of his life. At the very least, he could have been banished from the king. He asks one last time for help. I also think it's a way to try to keep himself in the right frame of mind prior to asking his favor! It relates to the four months of prayer, because he'd never quit. This was just the final prayer...or the end of a very long one.

They could have both been put to death for going to their king. People are placed in high positions to be able to "use" or call upon their status when doing the Lord's work. We have the responsibility to speak His word everywhere we're placed and to live according to the directions in the Bible. Sometimes this means standing on a ledge all alone. This has never happened to me...mostly because I wasn't standing firm and didn't see the opportunities. I guess I'd pray for strength to do God's will.

He sends back to God, promises that God Himself had previously made. He also appeals for God's servants. We learn that we can intercede for others if we're in the right frame of mind.

He's deeply affected by the news. He takes on their pain in a personal fashion...he takes it to heart. He fasts and mourns and weeps because it affects him so profoundly. It was customary to weep loudly. Weeping and mourning went along with fasting. For prayers to be effective, they must be made from a deep feeling and must be deeply sought after. I don't think this was excessive.

Daniel prayed for mercy. He prayed based on God's past mercy, His glory and righteousness, and God's personal indentificatoin with Jerusalem. God answered Daniel's prayer by sending Gabriel to tell him about Jesus and of the rebuilding of Jerusalem.

Daniel had to take on the sins of the nation personally. Even though he was righteous, he was praying for a sinful nation that he was part of. It was so similar to Jesus, because Jesus had to be born a human to become part of the "nation" that sinned. Then, He took all of our sins upon himself, to save the rest of us.

Daniel prepared by wearing sack cloth and ashes. His demeanor was one of complete humility. This is important in this cse, because the Israelites did not earn or deserve mercy...they'd been warned. When we intercede for others, we too should prepare by confessing our own sins, having an attitude of humility...the broken and contrite spirit.

I have completed a couple of Pastor Ralph's lessons. Each one has been a blessing to me, and I have been looking forward to beginning this one. I pray everyone enjoys it as much as I know I will.
