  1. Q3. In what ways is God a Rock in the above verses. What functions does a rock perform in Palestine?

God is the refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble ( I can go to Him and He will uphold me). He is there for me to go to for protection, strength and salvation.

He is my hiding place, a place of shelter and protection.

  2. Q2. (Psalm 3:3) In what ways is God a shield? In what ways is he our glory? In what ways is he "the lifter up of my head"? What does this teach us about God? About ourselves?

God is my unseen shield protecting me from satans firey darts. He gives victory over sin and restores me so that I may regain respectability. He is my shield and defender. Without Him I am helpless.

  3. Q1. (Psalm 91) What is the protected one required to do in times of danger (verses 1-2, 9). What metaphors are used of God's protection in this psalm?

I am to dwell in the shelter of the Most High, rest in the Almighty shadow, say that the Lord is my refuge and fortress. I am to make my dwelling in the Most High. I can only do this through faith and trust in my Lord my God to do what He says He will do and be.

Shelter, shadow, refuge, fortress, shield rampart and dwelling.

  4. Q4. What is the significance of the confession "Jesus is Lord"? Why is this necessary for salvation, according to Romans 10:9?

Confess Jesus is Lord is affirmation that He is God. We are told to confess to others that He is Lord, share what He has done for us and for all who will believe in Him and His sacrifice for us. Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saves.

  5. Q3. What are the implications for governments that Yahweh is the King of kings and Lord of lords? What are the implications of removing God" from a nation's currency and pledges, and ardently secularizing national life? Where does that put a nation with regard to God the King?

Blessings! Loss of blessings and becoming enslaved. It puts that nation in great peril for suffering and loss their power. I pray that we as a nation would only heed Gods word and repent and turn back to the Lord before it is to late.

  6. Q2. What are the personal implications of Yahweh being your King and of Jesus being the Messiah sent from God? What are the advantages of being the subject of Yahweh as King? What does it mean for you to submit to the King on an everyday basis? How does a person reject Yahweh from being King over him or her?

The King is the object of all my love and worship, to Him I owe obedience to His Word and to serve Him in reverance. I am a part of His kingdom and share all He has. On a daily basis I give over my day and will to my Father and King. I reject my Lord God, King of Kings when I go against His word and will for my life and choose to follow after my own desires or feelings. I need to pray for the Holy Spirits guidance on a daily basis.

  7. Q1. Read 1 Samuel 8:15 and Malachi 3:8-10. How did tithing relate to a person's acceptance of God being their King in the Old Testament? How about for those of us who live under the New Covenant? What place does tithing have for us?

Tithing is an act of obedience, it was their responsibility to tithe, it is an act of worship. When tithes are withheld they (we) are robbing God. In doing so, they (we) are rejecting God the King od Kings command. I believe that just as in the Old Testament giving the tithe was following God' command to honoring Him with the fruits of our labors we are to do likewise. Luke 6:38 tells us to give and receive. I believe that when given is done with a joyful hear, God blesses us. I know I lack nothing for giving at least 10% and more. I honor God in doing so.
