  1. Q2. What was the purpose of the Passover meal for future generations? Why was it to be repeated? What was to be remembered? What would have happened if the Jews had stopped remembering the Exodus?

    The purpose was as Jesus said, "In rememberance of Me". He did not want us to forget that his sacrifice of his life was for US. That it was a sacrifice and God had intervened to put and end to the law with a supreme sacrifice of love, His only Son. The dispensation of the Law was over, a new dispensation of Love was now instituted.

  2. Q2. How can an extreme symbolic interpretation cause a person to have too little respect for the Lord's Supper and its elements? Where is the balance, do you think?

    I think a lot that relates to one's attitude at the time of participating is how communion is introduced each time. If it's considered an act like the "offering", then I think it can become too meaningless. I also think that if the servers allow the recepient time to mediatate and do not encourage them to "lets get this overwith" such as having communion cup holders and asking people to hold and meditate would help believers to understand the significance of what we are doing and observing
