Q4. (Luke 2:11) What are the three titles of Jesus given by the angels? What does each mean? What does this tell us about Jesus' true identity?
Savior=deliverer, Christ=Anointed, Lord=Master. The Savior delivers us from sin, The Christ, anointed by God, The Lord, Master of us all. All three=One God with us. He is Born this day in Bethlehem, Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas to all.

Q3. (Luke 2:7-8) Why do you think the message of Jesus' birth comes to shepherds, of all people? Why is Jesus born in a stable with a manger for a bed? This has to be intentional. What point is God making?
Shepherds were outcasts, poor, lonely and I believe in most cases humble people. They traveled around a good bit, so the message of the Messiah's birth would spread.
Jesus gave up everything that was his in heaven to become human on earth. The manager represents humility, servitude. He came into this world as poor as poor could get.
God is showing himself willing to be human. He sacrifices himself in Jesus.

Q2. Why do you think the journey to Bethlehem was difficult for Mary? Is pleasure an indication that we are in God's will or not? Any examples from your life? Extra Credit: Argue for or against this proposition: "Being a consistent Christian causes more hardships than just going with the flow."
At nine months, Mary was not really in any shape to travel. It was cold and aside from Joseph lonely. No comfort from familair sources, home and family.
Pleasure is not an indication that we are in God's will. Pleasure can come from wordly sources as well as spiritual ones.
I find pleasure in Praising God for all he does for me. I enjoy being in nature and also surrounded be children's laughter and fun.
Beingf a consistent Christian is hard. The more I do things for my Lord the more the Devil wants to steal, kill and destroy.

By pointing out the leaders of the time, it makes a verifible point in history. This shows that Jesus was real and walked the earth with us.

Q3. (Matthew 1:21) What is the significance of the name Jesus? Why do you think the angel gave the name to both Mary (Luke 1:31) and Joseph independently?
The significance was the meaning, "Yahweh saves." The name was given separately so neith would forget who he was, Yahweh's salvation in human form.

Mary had no options, her fate was stoning or to be shunned. Joseph was a righteous, honorable man who only wished to do the right thing quietly.

Q5. (Luke 1:42-43) In what sense are the titles "Blessed Virgin Mary" and "Mother of God" appropriate for Mary? Why are we sometimes hesitant to exalt her as "blessed among women"?
The titles for Mary come straight from Luke. As Jesus' earthly mother she was truly blessed. I think we are hesitant to exalt Mary because of a tendency to worship her instead of God.
