  1. Hi, I'm Dan from Souther California. I worship at Calvary Chapel Redlands with my wife Janya and our two children, Ben and Samantha. This study is quite timely for me as I am going through a time of disillusionment with my fellow Christians at church. Knowing that the problem lies with me, I'm certain that God will use this study to set me straight...He always does as I study His word :D God Bless you all.

  2. 3. Why is animal sacrifice repulsive to modern people? How much of this has to do with a city vs. a farming way of life? I can only guess that it is because most modern people view it as an old superstitious, and barbaric way to appease some angry god. I know that most people today have never even seen meat being dressed out from a dead animal, all they see is the clean, end result at the meat section of their grocery stores. I

  3. Q1. How do you know that John the Baptist's statement about the Lamb of God refers to sacrifice? (John 1:29).

Because the Jewish people had been using lambs as sacrifices for their sin, as per the commandment of God. So when John called Jesus the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, he knew exactly what he was saying.

How was the comprehensiveness of "sins of the world" so radical a concept? That He would take away the sins of the world would be radical to the Jewish people. Here they are, sacrifice an expensive and innocent lamb to make atonement for one personal sin. If I had to do this, the blood of lambs would run thick indeed! Yet, Jesus, one Person, one sacrifice, was going to take away all the sins of the world. And He did!

  4. Hi, I'm Danny, and I worship and fellowship at Calvary Chapel Redlands, CA. We are just finishing the Mens Bible Fellowship for the year, and will be taking a summer break. I've wanted to get into a study like this for some time, and am looking forward to a disciplined online study that stays on topic. I love the idea of this format. I am hoping to get my wife involved also. God Bless.
