Q1. Christ's Return

Recommended Posts

  • 2 months later...

When Christ returns, he will be coming on the clouds in the sky with power and great glory. People all over the  earth will see the Son of Man as he is. All those who crucified Christ, don't know him or don't serve him will be mourning. They will try to run and hide, but there is no where to hide from Christ great power and glory. Christ will have the angels gather up His elect people. The rapture will be visible for every to see. I serve Christ with everything I was created with my mind, soul and body belongs to Christ. I would rather go upstairs than downstairs to hell.

Daniel's prophecy in the Old Testament of the Son of Man in (Daniel 7:13-14), relates to the same as is written in the Gospels about the Son of Man coming on clouds. Also, in the Gospels talks about the teachings of Christ about the Kingdom of God (ancient of Days) and him sitting on the right hand of the Father. Daniel's prophecy was right on target with the New Testament.

Q1.
What does Matthew 24:30-31 tell us will happen when Christ returns?
How does this relate to Daniel's prophecy of the Son of Man?

All nations will see our Lord coming on the clouds of heaven with power and glory. When He descends, He will send His angels throughout the earth to gather together His elect people, from all the earth they will gather to greet their Messiah and to enjoy His glorious reign.
This same Jesus Christ is the “Son of Man” mentioned in Daniel’s prophecy.

Q1. What does Matthew 24:30-31 tell us will happen when Christ returns? How does this relate to Daniel's prophecy of the Son of Man?

The Son of Man appears in the sky with great power and glory coming on the clouds of heaven.  All nations will mourn (who have not believed in the only Name by which we can be saved), He will be visible to all.  He shall send forth His angels to gather His elect (remnant) from the four winds.  "distance of place shall keep none out of heaven if distance of affection does not". Matthew Henry

This is the same Jesus as spoken of in Daniel's prophecy coming on the clouds.

God Bless!

In the 2nd coming of Christ, His glorious presence will be observed by all.  It will not as before when His face could not be seen.  It will be a coming that will be manifested in final judgement of all the nations of the world where believers will rule and dwell with Him in His kingdom.

The Son of Man coming on clouds, being given dominion and glory in His kingdom was just as Daniel predicted.     This was also written about in the many books of the bible.

The Son of Man will come on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Daniel's prophecy is the same as stated in the Gospel of Matthew. Daniel 7:13  I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven.

Lesson 6 Q1.

a.     What does Matthew 24:30-31 tell us will happen when Christ returns?

Many have provided hypothetical responses with regards to the coming of the Son of Man. The vision of Daniel, I believe, gives us a better imagery of this future episode though it falls short of the ultimate reality and the “sign from Heaven” is, I think, more than just a visible emergence from the sky.

The mourning pitches us with prophecy of Zechariah, “…. They will look on me, the one they have pierced and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son." (Zech 12:10) Obviously in today's context, the mourners will be the unrepentant sinners. The Son of Man coming with power and glory will deliver His ultimate judgment, which will be the separation of goats from the sheep.

b.    How does this relate to Daniel's prophecy of the Son of Man?

It is basically a vision of a prophet of old retold by the Living Lord of Glory Himself while He walked the earth. "And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him.” Dan 7:14. It is with this power and glory that the Son of Man will destroy every enemy and erect His own everlasting dominion, which will not pass away. The destruction will include mourning unbelievers, who mourn and weep in endless horror and despair but repented sinners who look to Jesus Christ and those who sowed in tears will harvest and reap in great joy.

A. The Son of Man will appear in the sky and all the tribes of the earth will mourn and beat their breasts and lament in anguish and they will see the Son Of Man coming on the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory in brilliancy. (The Bride of Christ is in Heaven, having been taken up in the great catching away or Rapture of the Church,( I Thess 4:15-17), and are celebrating the Marriage Supper of the Lamb for 7 years) The mourners are those who rejected Jesus up to this point since, Matthew 24 is written to Israel who will go through the great Tribulation.

B. Daniel saw this prophetically, and described the 2nd Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ on the clouds in glory.

Q1. What does Matthew 24:30-31 tell us will happen when Christ returns? How does this relate to Daniel's prophecy of the Son of Man?

The nations of the earth will mourn because unbelievers will suddenly realize they have chosen the wrong side. Everything they have scoffed about will be happening, and it will be too late for them.

It is good that we don’t know exactly when Christ will return. If we knew the precise date, we might be tempted to be lazy in our work for Christ. Worse yet, we might plan to keep sinning and then turn to God right at the end. Heaven is not our only goal; we have work to do here. And we must keep on doing it until death or until we see the unmistakable return of our Savior.

Christ, at His return,  will appear in the heavens, coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. He will send out His angels with the blast of a trumpet and they will gather His chosen ones from the ends of the earth.

Daniel's prophecy also sees the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven.

In Daniel's prophecy the one “who looked like a man” is the Messiah. Jesus used this verse to refer to himself (Matthew 26:64; Luke 21:27; John 1:51). The clouds of heaven portray the Son of Man as divine; throughout the Bible, clouds represent his majesty and awesome presence. God’s glory appeared in a cloud in Exodus 16:10 and 19:9 at the giving of the law at Sinai.

When Jesus Christ returns the heavens will open and all the nations and every eye will see him descending from heaven on clouds with His mighty power accompanied by the heavenly angles, and they will separate the sheep and the goat, they will collect the holy people who have faithfully followed Christ from all the four corners of the earth.

In Daniel's prophecy also we see the son of man coming down from heavens on clouds, here the son of man  is non other then Jesus Christ and His second coming.

Matthew tells us that when Christ returns there will be a sign in the sky and that we will be able to see Jesus coming in the cloud in the sky. Then He will send forth the angels to gather His elect from all over the world. This is the person that Daniel’s prophecy of the Son of Man he is talking about.

Then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in Heaven.  Then all of the tribes of the earth mourn for they have refused Him.  They shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.  And He shall send His angels with the sound of a great trumpet, and they shall gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of Heaven to the other.  Daniels Son of man is synonymous with this glorious happening.   In the book of Daniel, he speaks of the Son of man coming in the clouds with power and great glory.

Matthew 24: 30-31 explains how the Son of Man will come and His coming will be a spectacular one in that a sign from Heaven will show Him coming and all the tribes will see Him.  The angels will blow the trumpets and all the elect will be gathered from all four corners of the earth. He will come in the clouds of heaven in power and great glory. This means that not a single person will miss His coming.

This relates to Daniel's prophecy as he also saw in his vision one like the Son of man coming in clouds of heaven and all the glory and dominion given to Him. This then indicates that the Son of Man will come and all who believed in Him will serve Him from everlasting to everlasting and His Kingdom will not be destroyed.
