Jesus, God the Son, never was created. He has always existed. He has no beginning or end. He is God. He and the Father are One (John 10:30). Scripture teaches that there is one God and that there are three Persons in the Godhead - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three of these Persons are God. Everything was created by Jesus, everything in heaven and on earth, everything seen and unseen, including all forces and powers, and all rulers and authorities. All things were created by our Lord Jesus, and everything was made for Him. He was before all else, and by Him everything is held together. He is the head of His body, which is the church. He is the very beginning, the first to be raised from death, so that He would be above all others (Col 1:16-18). Jesus took on human flesh at a particular point in human history (John 1:14). Theologically referred to as the Incarnation. This was so that He could die for our sins (Gal 4:4-5). From the Incarnation onward, the eternal, uncreated Son is both truly God and truly man. But there was never a time when the Son did not exist. He was never created. Jesus always was and will forever remain “our great God and Saviour” (Titus 2:13). The only way any of us can enter into a relationship with God is because of His grace toward us. “For by grace are you saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves” (Eph 2:8). And the only way we can come to the Father is through our Lord Jesus. “Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). This lovely verse makes it clear that the Lord Jesus Christ is Himself the way to heaven. He does not merely show the way; He is the way. He is the only Way. No one comes to the Father except through Him. We put our trust in Jesus for the Lord is the truth. He is not just One who teaches the truth; He is the truth. He is the embodiment of Truth. Those who have Christ have the Truth. It is not found anywhere else. Christ Jesus is the life. He is the source of life, both spiritual and eternal. Those who receive Him have eternal life because He is the Life.
Merry Christmas and a blessed year ahead.

Q1. Jesus was with God in the beginningv2. Jesus is God and has always been with God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. God has always been He had no beginning and no end.

Q2.Jesus is Fully God and therefore Divine. Jesus became a man for thirty three years but He was fully man and fully God.

Q3. The Incarnation is the Theological term for Jesus becoming man.

Q4.We are unworthy of having anything to do with God, but because of God’s Grace and favor to us we are made worthy. God did this for us by sending Jesus to earth to die upon the cross for us. Jesus is our Redeemer, He paid the price for us . We were so unworthy and only Jesus was acceptable to God because He is without sin.
Q5.We must accept the truth about God and this truth will set us free. This happens when we accept Jesus into our lives and we realise that only God’s way is the right way. This means turning from sin and making God the focus of our lives.
Happy and Holy Christmas to everyone.

Jesus, being the very essence of God that humans can see, was always one with the Father, from the very existence of time. He is divine because “the Word was God”.

Incarnation is the word used to describe His being born in the flesh.

Jesus brings us grace and favor from God when we trust Him as our Lord and Savior. There is nothing in us or nothing we can do to gain that favor. It is only by acknowledging our inability to make ourselves acceptable to God and trusting that Jesus death on the cross accomplishes our redemption and brings us peace with God.

Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. We must come to that place where we make the decision to believe these words or not. It is the dividing line for every human being that determines where we spend eternity.

May everyone in this Bible Study group have a blessed Christmas Day.

According to John 1:1-2, when did Jesus first appear on the scene?

He was always around so there isn't a "first appearance" unless you consider the incarnation His beginning. He was "with God at the beginning," and since God is eternal, Christ, too, is eternal.

How divine is he? What is the theological term describing Jesus becoming a human being? (verse 14).

The term is incarnation -- to be made human or take on a human body.  Jesus was fully human as well as fully divine.  All God ... all human.

In what way does he bring us grace and favor from God?

Jesus is full of grace and truth. His favour toward us is His grace which is unilateral -- from God to humans -- or unidirectional. We don't deserve or can merit His grace.

In what way does he demand that we acknowledge his truth?

He demands that we give up our pretensions of knowing anything apart from Him, and simply submit to what He has done, accepting His grace.

1.  a. Jesus was in the beginning.  He was the Word.

    b.  He is God.

    c.  Incarnation - He became flesh.

    d.  By dying on the cross for us, taking our place and paying for our sins.

    e.  We acknowledge His truth by accepting that he died for us, paid for our sins and we are set free and can now have fellowship with God. If we reject Him and don't receive His love we will not spend eternity with Him and will go to hell.

Christmas Day. (John 1:1-14) According to John 1:1-2, when did Jesus first appear on the scene?

He was there right from the beginning

How divine is he?

He is 100% Divine. He is God

What is the theological term describing Jesus becoming a human being? (verse 14).

The Word became flesh (became human)

In what way does he bring us grace and favor from God?

He is full of grace and favour. We are undeserving and do not merit the gift of salvation. He then graciously accepted us and granted us favour to become worthy of God’s gift of eternal life.

In what way does he demand that we acknowledge his truth?

See following text: “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free." (John 8:31b-32)

Jesus first appeared on the scene from the beginning. Jesus is God.

God is divine to the utmost.

Jesus becoming a human being is He became flesh. A man on earth.

He gives us grace and favor when we fully accept and follow his words. All we need to do is have faith in his words.

John 8:31-32, you are truly his disciples when leaning on God's teaching. You will know the truth which will set you free.

Christmas Day. (John 1:1-14) According to John 1:1-2, when did Jesus first appear on the scene?

He was there right in the beginning of creation and was Creator.

How divine is he?

Jesus is fully divine. He is God.

What is the theological term describing Jesus becoming a human being? (verse 14).

I think the word is incarnation.

In what way does he bring us grace and favor from God?

We were sinners destined for condemnation but He became man and took sin and nailed them on the cross as our sacrificial lamb thereby reconciling us to God. This was by grace as we did not deserve it.

In what way does he demand that we acknowledge his truth?

He is the Truth and wants us to know him as such and believe in him being the truth that sets us free from sin and death.

Jesus first appeared of the scene in the beginning of creation.  He was with God and was God.  Without  Him nothing was made that has been made.

He was totally divine even though He took on human form to dwell among us.

The word incarnation is used to describe His becoming  a human being.

He brings grace and favor from God by shinning light on our sins.  The truth, the truth teller brings us good new and exposes  the lies of the world that we are accustom to and have been clinging to.  When we reject these lies and accept  His truths we find our way to the Father and  become children of God.

He demands that we accept these truth by walking  in the light as He is in the light.

Christmas Day. (John 1:1-14)

  • According to John 1:1-2, when did Jesus first appear on the scene?
    • Jesus has always been there
  • How divine is he?
    • His nature is identical to that of God which makes Him super devine
  • What is the theological term describing Jesus becoming a human being? (verse 14).
    • Incarnation
  • In what way does he bring us grace and favor from God?
    • Jesus took our sins upon him to make us worthy. The favour is not based on our worthiness, because we are not worthy. we are made worthy by Grace aand favour
  • In what way does he demand that we acknowledge his truth?
    • We acknowledge his truth by holding on to His teaching, being his true disciples. He further emphacises this further down in John 14:6 when he says "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
