  1. Q1. (Matthew 7:1-2) What do the words "ask," "seek," and "knock" have in common? What distinguishes them from each other? Does one word convey more intensity than another? What is the significance of the present, continuous, imperative tense of these verbs?

Ask is to question , seek is to have a earnest desire to get an answer . Knock means to to request for an entrance into Gods throne of grace for a favour

  2. Q4. (Matthew 7:6) In Jesus' day, what did dogs and pigs have in common? What would holy food and pearls have in common? Read Matthew 10:14; Acts 13:44-51; 18:5-6; and 28:17-28. In what kinds of circumstances did believers turn away from a continued sharing of the gospel? To what kinds of people did they continue their witness?

Dogs and pigs are unclean animals . Holy Food and pearls are precious and just the opposite

We should turn away from sharing the gospel if a peron is argumentative for arguments sake

  3. Q5. (Matthew 5:27-30) The spirit of our age is very accepting and approving of lus+ According to Jesus' words, how seriously are we to take lus+? How does agape love help us combat lus+?

We have to take very seroiusly the question of lus+ . It is all around us in todays society - in billboards - in magazines - in televisoon - in internet visits - it is so subtle and suggestive that we can just be drawn immediately if we are not on guard - refer Jon 31.1 - we need to make a covenany with our own EYES !!!

Agape love help us to combay lus+ by remembering the two comandments -a) LOVE the LORD your GOD B) LOVE your neigbour as yourself

God who is of purer eyes - to behold evil - will definately help us if we are true in heart and sincere to ward off lus+

  4. Q4. (Matthew 5:28) Sex is very closely tied to our core sense of person. This means that as we are healed in our view towards sex, it goes a long way toward making us whole inside. How would you counsel a brother who shared with you that he had trouble with pornogr*phy? How can you protect yourself against temptation over the Internet? At the beach or poolside? With your TV?

First we have to counsel ourselves and then counsel another brother who has had trouble with pornogr*phy

Cut all means of triggers which draws us into such desires

Come to a firm conviction which says NO to such desire

Throw away all pronogr*phy materials in possesion

Never be alone - use time effectively - be busy in seeking for creative things . medidate on Gods word and /or His faithfulness

Run away from sin instead of being drawn into it as JOSEPH did in Egypt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask phone co to block all 900 call - as Pastor Ralf has mentioned in the Bible study . Also install an adult filter for yourself - not for children !!!!!!!!!

  5. Q3. (Matthew 5:28) What is wrong with pornogr*phy? What is wrong with going to prostitutes? Who are the victims of this "victimless" activity?

*********** helps us break Gods commandment - because it makes us look at a woman with a sexually wrong motive . Going to a prostitute is wrong - it helps support oragnised crime - it takes wrong advantage of women who against their will are raped , assualted , abused , children neglected , homes destroyed , naive teens lured into this job purely iniatially with a promise of big money and lavish extravagant lifestyles and ends up in a web of crime supported syndicate from which they cannot escape !!!! And so aon and so forth !!! How could our conscience permit this ? The question to us is : Will Jesus support or approve of such a behaviour , or else , putting it in another way , will Jesus come with us to such places or into such internet cafes and be our companion . We cannot deceive our heartbeats !!!

  6. Q2. God purposely created us with a good and natural sexual desire. How do we distinguish between that God-given sexual desire and forbidden lus+?

Using our sexual desire with the strict marriage boundaries is Ok . marraige is honourable in all - and the bed undefiled -

Forbidden **** always breaks the tenth commandment . It means to aspire something which the heart forbids - and leads to stolen fruit which may taste sweet but - at the end of such a journey is deceit , lies and hypocrisy and double standards . God is very clear - no relationship outside marraige

  7. Q1. (Matthew 5:27-30; Exodus 20:17) What is the point of similarity between adultery and lus+? What is the difference? How does lus+ break the Tenth Commandment?

**** is the beginning . Adultery is the end - the ultimate . **** is a means to the end . Proverbs 20 verse 9 , no one can say that he or she is free from sin . We need to carry the cross DAILY luke 9.23 . as paul says - I die daily !!!!

**** breaks the tenth commandment because it desires something which is prohibited by God - Our own heart will condemn us and our conscience ****** us !!! If we sear our consceience with a hot iron - then only God can save us from going down and away from His presence !!!!

  8. Q3. (Matthew 5:28) What is wrong with pornogr*phy? What is wrong with going to prostitutes? Who are the victims of this "victimless" activity?

Pronogr*phy is sin . It is an addiction or a wave that drives us away from God . Would Jesus ever enter into such a heart filled with such sensous desires ? , is the question . We can go on justifying ourselves , but we cannot escape the wrath of God , who has created us as good, wholesome , beautiful human beings - but the way society is mis=treating and exploiting certain individuals is wrong

Even those who watch these things are to be blamed - it means our walk with God is not close enough - thats why Satan decives us with such temptations - and comes in between and creates thuis void or an illusion of self gratification albeit for some temporary moments

Our body is the temple of the Living God - how then can we go to pros*titues ?

The victims are all there all around us to see !!!!

  9. Q1. (Matthew 5:27-30; Exodus 20:17) What is the point of similarity between adultery and lus+? What is the difference? How does lus+ break the Tenth Commandment?

Lus+ is the mental act . Adultery is the physical act of sex outside of marriage which breaks the tenth commandment

Thou shall not covet thy neighbous wife . The thoughts of our heart need to be holy and pure , it is a dailly battle with the world, flesh and the devil

  10. Q1. (Matthew 5:3-11) Each Beatitude consists of two parts. What are these parts? Why do you think Jesus made each Beatitude a paradox? What is the relationship of the Beatitudes to the Fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)?

By comparing spiritual things with the material - there is a paradoz , coupled with a riddle-puzzle - in order that we understand the deper meaning

We should mirror our character in the light of the beau-attitudes and strive for the friuts of the spirit revealed in gal 5.22 - more easier said than done !!!!!

  11. Q2. (Matthew 5:3-4) Why is it necessary to be aware of your spiritual poverty before you can become a Christian? What kind of mourning is necessary for a person to become a Christian? What kind of mourning is a common experience of Christians? (See Isaiah 61:2-3; Ezekiel 9:4.)

Unless we admit that we are "lost " or "spirtitually poor "we cannot accept the need for a Savoiur !!!!

Mourning from within , crying out to God is required - for all of us

  12. Q4. Which of Abraham's achievements inspires you the most? As you reflect on his life, what stands out for you?

Abraham was a father of faith . He was also called by God as a " friend " This quality stands out - tall and clear - in Abraham's Life

he accepted God 's challenge to move out of his country , not knowing where he was going - He also accepted God's challenge to sacrifice his ONLy son Isaaac !!!!!

  13. Q1. Take some time to review Sarah's life and legacy. What were her strengths? Her weaknesses? Where did she show faith? Where did she lack faith?

Sarah's life is no worse than ours !! It is easy to be judegmental on others than ourselves . It ws natural for her to be jealous , and over pushy ahead of Gods time . She also faced the difficult test of trusting God for a child at 90 years of age . It is true she laughed - so did Abraham . We would not have been better off either , if faced with a similar situation like Sarah and Abraham

  14. Q2 (23:3-20) What is the significance of Abraham's faith in God's promises at the same time as he pays dearly for this small property? What does this tell us about faith?

Abraham never entered or inherited the promised land , except for the token deal of buying the Cave of machpelah , even though for the limited purpose of buril space and rights . His Faith in God was much more stronger, higher and deeper than the small/big price for the cave !!!!!!

  15. Q3 (24:12-14) What do you think of the servant's prayer and test of God? Did the servant find the right girl on the basis of his hasty prayer? If not, then how?

I dont think it was a hasty prayer - at least it would have ben better than no prayer . Definately the servant was taught by Abraham , as all his hired 118 servants , to commiit everything to God , in prayer . He started the journey with prayer and extended the prayer request once again to God

God definately responded to this act of trust and faith since he found the right girl for Isaac - out of many girls coming to the well at that time !!!!

  16. Q3. (22:14) How have you learned to trust God to provide for you? How has he provided for you in the past? What are you facing right now that will require God to be your Provider, your Jehovah-Jireh?

i have learned to trust God over the years and he has provided abundantly to me and as the Bible says - I have never reached the stage where I have to beg - bcoz God provides abundantly more than I can ask or think - since He is God who does not sleep nor slumber

Jesus Christ , the same yesterday , today and tommorow and forever

  18. Q1. What effect does Satan want trials to have in our life? What effect does God want them to have? The effect really depends upon how we respond to the trial. Have you ever been through a trial that strengthens and invigorates you at the end? Have any of your trials inspired others or have you been inspired by another's trial?

This is a roller coaster ride - satan tries to destroy /weaken our faith through all such testing circumstances , wheras we need to Increase our faith (as the disciples prayed ) and confront /resist satan and draw nearer to God . I have been through the midst of such storms in my life as in my 45 years of pilgrimage on this earth i have faced such situations in my church life as well as office life . I have also been inspired by Ruth Graham and her life as a vital support to Billy Graham

  19. Q3. (Matthew 2:11b) Why was it appropriate for the Magi bring gifts to the Christ-child? How does the extravagance of their gifts reflect their heart attitude? What kinds of gifts are appropriate for us to bring?

It was appropraite to bring gifts to the KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS .The extravagance of the gifts shows how true and honest they were in their respect and gratitude to meet the LORD JESUS after such a long journey

  20. Q2. (Matthew 2:11a) What do we learn from seeing the Magi prostrating themselves before the child Jesus? What was the significance of this for them? How can we emulate this kind of worship?

We see the single minded devotion , piety , respect and glory given to the SAVOUR of the world , they travelled so many miles just to complete this worship

It is a challenge to us in todays clutterred lifestlye that we should take time to be alone with God
