Q5. (Luke 1:42-43) In what sense are the titles "Blessed Virgin Mary" and "Mother of God" appropriate for Mary? Why are we sometimes hesitant to exalt her as "blessed among women"
These titles are appropriate in their
description of who Mary was and what her
function was Mother to the child who was
Son of the Most High God.
We are sometimes hesitant to exalt her as
" blessed among women " because we know
that praise belongs to God alone. And yes
she did a great service to God and the World by bearing Jesus and putting up with
alot of criticism and living a life on the
go to avoide danger to the Child Jesus.
But worship belongs to Jesus and God and
the Holy Slpirit.

Q4. (Luke 1:38) What is the essence of Mary's positive response to the angel? What can we learn from her response for our own lives? In what sense was Mary's response an "informed consent"? When we respond to God, what do we consent to?
The Essence or make up of Mary's positive
response was this is the way God wants it
this is the way it will happen I will fully
comply to God's wishes.
We can learn that when we say yes it must
be to what God wishes not what we have in
mind to do for him. We must ask God what we
can do to fulfill the wishes he has and wants to happen today and do it without our
changing anything . Just Yes Lord and do
it.
Mary's yes was an informed consent it that
She had asked why , what will happen to me
to make this happen then She said Yes.
and allowed that to happen without saying
what will be the effect on me or what will
people think. or that will be to hard to bear.
When we respond to God, we consent to do
what we think or feel is His will for us
but... we always have a but... if it's
to hard or involves to much time etc
perhaps we won't fully comply. Our response is conditional Mary's was unconditional.

The fact that the conception by the
virgin Mary is thru the overshadowing of
the Holy spirit leads us to believe that
physically Jesus had a human body but his
spirit and Soul were of the same substance
and nature of God. fully human body fully
God in the soul and spirit nature . This
doctrine is the heart of the christian
message of the gospel. For the great ness
of Jesus is that he being fully human and
fully god was a person whom could die and
take on our punishment for sin to take care
of God's conscience of being just in his
declaration of sin being covered for.Jesus
could not be (somewhat like God's nature )
and have God accept his death he had to be
fully God's nature in fully Human form.

Q2. (Luke 1:34) In what way does Mary's "How?" question (1:34) to the angel's declaration differ from Zechariah's "How?" question (1:18)? Why was Mary rewarded and Zechariah disciplined?
Mary's why was simple, she did not understand what was going to happen to her
since she did not (know) in other words
was not involved with a man yet intimately.
she was cruious as to how it would happen
like a child innocent in not knowing how
God could bring this about.
Zachariah's question was another matter
he was almost scoffing God . Saying you
really think I can believe you that this
child will be born to us. We are an old
man and an old woman. You's got to be
off your rocker to think I would believe
you . Sort of denying God could do such a
thing.

Q1. (Luke 1:31-34) What did the angel's announcement say about who Mary's Child was and who he was to become?
answer
The angel's announcement made it clear that Mary's child whoul be God's Son.
as the angle said" He will be the son of the most High." And when God revealed
Himself to Abraham , God called himself " The Most High God " therefore If Jesus was
the son of the Most High He was Son of the Most High God. Also before this the Angel
announced " He will become A great Person." That Mary's son would inherrit the throne
of His Father David so he would be counted among the Decendents of King David. and
also announced that Jesus's Kingdom would be forever , unending , eternal.

I would say that the I is adam or all souls of men. Paul at this time was a mature believer and is aware of the
fact that only thru giving self over to the Holy Spirits controll can we live a good christian life and do what is
good and godly. If it were only for the Jews I feel he would have made that more plain. It is teaching so it does
not seem to be an auto biography of his early days of conversion.

Q4. (Jeremiah 17:9; Matthew 15:18-20; Romans 7:24) What is the doctrine of "total depravity"? Put it in your own words. Does it mean that none of God's original goodness shows through? Then what does it mean? Why does modern man tend to believe that man is basically good? How does this differ from what the Bible teaches?
The doctrine of "totla depravity " is the doctrine that teaches there is on good in humanity of the human heart.
no part of our thinking or actions is good we are basically evil inside and out.
The only part of God's goodness that shows thru is that we were originally made in god's image and likeness so
yes some good does show thru at times.
We as modern humans wish to think that basically man is good with evil mixed in . but it iis not true our nature
is bascally evil and we underestimate the evil ness of the flesh.
The bible deaches that we are basically sinfull and evil and need redeaming saveing.

Q3. (Romans 7:12; 8:3) What does the law do well? What does it do poorly? Why is the law (knowing right and wrong) powerless to save us? What is the problem here?
The law points our right and wrong well. It shows well what we should and should not do and what God
expecs. it reveals what is right and what is wrong. Tells people what to do and how to do it.
What the law cannot do is deal with the human heart and emotions . Only God thru his son Jesus's deathcould take and deal with our sinfull hearts.
The law could not save us and is powerless to save us because of human nature. it was weakened by our
sinfull nature.
the problem is the deceit and evil ness of our human hearts
-
Q2. (Romans 7:7-8) The law reveals sin for what it is. Why wouldn't we be better off just not knowing that we should not covet, for example? Why does the flesh respond to being told "Do not covet" by coveting all the more?
The flesh is in itself evil and by having the law and knowing what is wrong we can see that it is not in our ability to
fight our sinfull nature. that only by dying to sin thru Christ's death can we be sure of success in our christian life
We cannot couquer sin even when we know it is wrong because we are fleshly weak and only God is good enough
to attone for sin . We are basically evil inside and will sin over and over again knowing it is wrong. because we
cannot controll our self /flesh.
-
Q1. (Romans 7:5) Paul uses the word "flesh" (or NIV "sinful nature") many times in chapters 7 and 8. In your own words, what does Paul mean by "flesh" in these verses?
I feel that paul is presenting as the flesh all thoughts emotions acts that we do and have that are
under the controll of our sinfull selfish controll. Areas in us that are not given by us to be under
the influence of the Holy Spirit.
-
Q5. (Romans 6:18-22) In Paul's analogy in these verses, is there a place of independent freedom apart from "slavery" to sin or to Christ? Why do we long for this kind of independent freedom? Why do we hesitate to firmly take sides and make our allegiance clear to all?
There is not independent ground you are either a slave to God or a slave to satan and evil.
I believe we long for this independent freedom because in us we have an area where our self sinfull self
wants controll as does sin. We must remit our controll to that of God to be slaves of God to be able to
win and follow god and goodness.
We I believe hesitate to take sides because of the sinfull nature in us. We have a small area that does not
want to be fully controlled by God or by evil a place where we want some choice. and so we fight to be
fully slaves to God.
-
Q4. (Romans 6:17b) How does good doctrine affect the way we live? Why should we honor good doctrine? If we shouldn't look down on doctrine itself, what kind of teaching should we be avoiding?
Good doctrine or teaching lets us know what is righteous and what is evil and how we should enhance the
good in our lives . It is alos a tool for teaching others the good that can effect their lives. Good doctrine
gives us a good pattern to follow in being christ like.
We should honor good doctrine beca use it is the tool by which christ's teachings were handed on to us and
it is the tool thru which we will be able to pass on the message of the Gospel in our times. it was handed
on to us we must hand it down to others it is the way the message will be passed thru the enerations.
We should avoid teaching that is watered down doctrine that does not give the strong christian message
or doctrine that has been changed to reflect political correctness or someones personal view that is in
direct opposition to the true message of christ.

Q3. (Romans 6:15-18). What does obedience have to do with slavery? In what way does doing acts of righteousness demonstrate your slavery to God? In what ways does doing bad things demonstrate a slavery to sin? How is such a slavery or bondage broken? What part does obedience have in breaking this bondage? In what areas is God speaking to you about a fresh obedience in your life?
a. We are a slave to anything we obey . if sin we are a slave to sin ,,,, if satan and evil we are a slave to satan or evil.
b.If we are doing good godly righteous things we are obeying God are in slavery to God
c. if we are doing sinful , fleshly and awfull things evil things we are in slavery to Satan and evil.
d to change our bondage we to change our mindset if evil we need to repent and determine we are going to obey God and good and righetousness. We need to know what is good and godly to do and this takes good fellowship and teaching and reading and studying god's ways and then
a conscious act of making a choice each time we do an action or say something that we will say
and do righetous thing.
Today god is speaking to me in the area of not " going up the miff tree. I have in the past gotten angry and miffed about things I was doing. if doing a ministry in church a person angered me I
would decide I quit and leave the post and pastor would be left to find a replcement. This year
I am working on what pastor and I have agreed on going to him and talking it out uhen I get e
upset. He gave me back some responsibilities and before as he says " You go up the miff tree"
come talk. So far it is working out fine

Q2. (Romans 6:13) In what ways do you "offer the members of your body" to either sin or God multiple times in a day? Why is it that we can sin unconsciously? How can we begin to offer our members deliberately to God? What changes will it take in our daily life to do this?
we offer the members of our body whatever we use as tools hands feet mouth etc to God or satan in that we use our members to work for that cause
when we choose to listen to God and use our mouth to speak for God we use our members for God. If I choose to use my mouth to work for satan I
say what he would have me say or what my sinfull self would say. We have to choose which to yeald our members to work for.
I believe we cannot sin unconsiously. we must choose and decide which side to work and yield our members to stand for.
If we wish to offer our members deliberately to God . All we have to do is choose God, keep our minds on how he would want things doneg
be aware of the righteous way to do a task or answer a question etc. It is a choice we must make a new each time we do anything all the time.
to do this we must know and study what the righteous thing to do is , fill our mind with god's word the bible, pray and keep fellowship with others
who are doing the same.

Q1. (Romans 6:12) What does obedience have to do with the "reign" of sin?
whatever we are obedient to is what reigns over us . so if we are obedient to sin then it is sin that reign's in
our lives. Obedience allows sin to reign.
-
A. to reckon, consider or count on means to- depend or relie upon, or expectation of.
B. This does not mean talking ourselves into something that isn't true , it is expecting something
that is is not seen physically but is true to be so.
C. The effect in our lives if we really consider this true should be that we for the most part
live a life that is close to what jesus expects us to live and are able to thwart temptation
to sin frequently. we will fail but we should not fail hugely or frequently in the same areas
there will be a growth in our lives. and we will quickly repent when we do sin.
-
Q4. (Romans 6:6-7) In what way has our "body of sin," our "flesh," our old nature been made powerless because of our crucifixion with Christ? In what way have we been freed from slavery? What difference does this understanding make in our struggles against temptation?
When Christ died sin that he took upon his body ( all sin from past and future ) was laid upon him. When he died
that sun was done away with . His death was payment for it all. and he threw it as far as the east is from the west
away not to xist any longer.
We when we choose to be baptised do so to show that we are dieing to sin . we experience a physical baptism
but it is a spiritual reality. that we understand that when we were saved we submitted to the fact that
we believe deep inside our being that Christ died in our place. our old self is gone and our new self can live
we essentially died when Christ did and rose when he did and must live that way with the Grace God offers us.
Sin no longer has effect on us and we are not a slave to it. So we should know and rely on the fact that the
power is existing in Christ to help us thru any temptation. If we fail it is not bcause we don't have the strength
and power to resist temptation. it is because we do not ask God's help or we reject his help and try to do it in
our own strength.
This should make a grave diffrence in our struggles for we have help in our struggles and if we do things
in God's strength we will resist and win. if we do it in our strength we will not win we loose ground.
we have the key to win and we need to obey submit and use it.

Q3. (Romans 6:1-7) Is Paul referring to a figurative "death" to sin, or to a kind of historical, actual death? Whose death is he talking about? How does this death become our own? To what degree is this just theological mumbo-jumbo or does it have some basis in reality?
In these verses 1-7 Paul is referring to a spiritual death. in us . and to the actural physical death
of Christ in past history. Our spiritual death is talked about in figurative terms but it is a reality in the
spiritual realm . our spirit old man dies and our spirit new man comes to life. and we must consider
this a reality in our spiritual life. It is our death and we must submit ourselves to christ and take on
the death of our old man and riseing of our new man to a new birth as a reality. it becomes our own
as we struggle to live our physical lives in a new way . and we can only do this by submitting and relying
on Christs help and God's help as that is where our strength to live this reality will come.
This is not just theological mumbo jumbo but is spiritual reality. and physical reality . God really did become
human while being devine. and he died for a purpose. and we are given a chance to join Him in this reality
but it takes trust and submission and spiritual understanding.

Q2. (Romans 6:3-4) In Paul's reference to baptism in 6:3-4, what does "buried" (6:4a) correspond to in the act of baptism? What does "Christ was raised from the dead" (6:4b) correspond to in baptism?
In the act of baptism the burried corresponds to being submurged under the water .
Christ was raised from the dead corresponds to our comeing up out of the submurged position
under water and standing above the waters breathing and living .
-
Q1. (Romans 6:3-5) In what sense does baptism bring about our union with Christ? In what sense does baptism symbolize our union with Christ?
baptism brings about our union with Christ in that in our baptism we choose to subit to Christ
all the sin of our old man and in doing this die with him in his death humble ourselves even
humiliate ourselves make a public statement that we now have put off our old sinfull self and
are joining Christ in his death and in his resurrection to new life. We must in scriputral words
consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in ( united with - submitted to ) Christ Jesus.
our old man died when he died . Our new life is due to our submitting to Christ we cannot live
it on our own but only in so much as we will submit our selves to live as he gives us the strength
to live for God. We try things on our own and we will fail badly.
Baptism symbolizes our union with christ because in our being submurged we act our dying and
in comeing up we act out riseing. Thus we publically act out what is happening in us spiritually.
-
Q4. (Romans 6:2-5) According to this passage, at what point do we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ? Is there anything we must do to bring about this change in headship? What are the implications of us having died with Christ?
We move from being under the headship of Adam to being under the Headship of Christ when we dmit that we are sinners and that we believe in Christs
death on the cross and reserrection being for me/us. and this is at the time of our salvation.
Besides having faith in the fact that Jesus died for us we have to do nothing else but believe in faith.
The implications of having died with christ are that we are in Christ, unnder his headship. so we will also rise with him to heaven.we are part of his
body, which is the christian family.
-
Q3. (Romans 5:15-19) By what right does Adam represent all humankind? By what right does Christ become head of all who become his disciples? If Christ is not our "representative" or "head," how can his death for sins be effective for us?
What is throwing my mind off is the word " right " it has so many meanings.
as far as what right Adam has to represent all human kind , I feel he was the first man formed, so it wculd be by the right of genetic inheritance
he was our first ancestor. And he was the first spiritual being and our soul inherited the first original sin due to his disobedience.
Christ was not diso bedient to his heavenly father or earthly parents so i feel by the right of obedience he became the head
of all those who become his disciples thru faith. We are justified, because of his obedience.
That is as simple as I can make it.
If Christ is not our head or representative then it is not possable for his death for sins to be effective for us.
we must make him our head by believing in our heart , having faith in his death and resurrection being for us to save and redeam us.

Q2. (Romans 5:13, 20) What is Paul saying in these verses? Can there be sin without law? In what sense does the "trespass increase" (5:20) when the law is present?
Yes there could be sin without the law. Adam and Eve sinned, Cain killed able and ever since
then people were able to sin against God by being disobedient and against each other by eigher
doing something to upset another person something un loveing or stealing or lyine or harming
someone physically or their reputation.
Trespass increased in the sense that once the law was given to Moses, People knew what God
considered sin and which sins were the worst by their punishment the law put on the offense
so once there was a law to break then the person breaking Gods' law and those who were aware
of the sin to them the offense or sin was magnified . became more aware of even if no other
people knew a person sinned the sinner him/her self knew they had broken the law of God and
their conscience would be bothered . There was a line made clear this is sin and because a person
knew when they crossed the line, it was more evident that we were sinners and sinned .
It became more clear that mankind were sinners and needed help, saveing.
Q1. Son of a Carpenter
in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
Posted
As the son of a carpenter , I feel Jesus would first learn
to use the tools of a carpenter safely and correctly, He
would learn to use the materials used in building. At first
helping with small tasks and once responsible for them then'
learn to use other tools. He would observe His father in
the deals and ways he contracted work and what was a fair
pay for what work. thru his observation and trying his
hand at the tasks he would become an apprentice then become
skilled. He would learn hard work, furniture making and wood
work for homes and brick laying skills and how to make tools
that would include some black smithing skills .
This would have exposed Jesus to all the business people in
his area that needed furniture all the families that needed
skilled help in building onto their homes or homes for their
children. He would have been exposed to tax collectors and
merchants and people who had to barter for products and
furniture etc. it would be a rounded experience. Sharpening
tools and keeping them from rusting . and travel to places
to buy tools and materials and how to barter down prices.
