As a mother of three, I feel that I have been blessed too. But during this season of advent, I've been reflecting on what must have been going through Mary's mind. Every mother believes their newborn baby to be special , a blessing to their family. But Mary gave birth to the savior of the world. What an awesome feeling it must have been to be chosen to mother Him.

Mary has taken a leap of faith. She accepts the task that God has set before her without knowing exactly what will happen. I don't think you can call this an informed consent... it's really a faithful consent . She trusted in God and that was all she needed to know.

Mary's question came from a place of innocence. She was not questioning that God would make it happen, simply wondering "How?". Zechariah posed his question as a challenge. He wasn't coming from a position of faith.
