  1. Q2. (Daniel9:3-4a) What is Daniel's demeanor as he prays? How does he prepare? Why is this so important in this case? In what ways might you and I prepare for intercession? Daniel believes God's promises for a return, he begins to pray in earnest for his people, that God would forgive their sin and enable this restoration to take place.Daniel's prayer was no casual thing, but a firm heart's resolve to seek God for his people until an answer came. 2.The seriousness of the prayer is expressed by the phrase, "in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes." 3.It was necessary for God to know that he was serious about getting an answer for his people. 4.We can repent, fast, pray, and read some scriptures in the bible pertaining to our situation.
  2. Q1. (Daniel 9:1-2) What encourages Daniel to seek God for the forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland? What practice on Daniel's part leads him to pray? 1. Daniel realizes that this 70 years is just about completed, that the prophecy is just about to be fulfilled. That was received from Jeremiah. 2. Daniel confessed his own sin when he prayed for the nation and pleaded that God would reveal his will.
  3. Q3. (Daniel 7:18, 22, 27) Three times the angel assures Daniel that "the saints of the Most High" will ultimately receive the kingdom and possess it forever (Daniel 7:18, 22, and 27). In what circumstances is this truth most precious to God's people? Though there may have been partial fulfillments, when do you expect the ultimate fulfillment? This will be after the rapture, Jesus comes to get his saints. 2. Yes, at that time I do.
  4. Q2. (Daniel 7:13-14) How do these verses describe "one like a son of man"? What makes us think he is a divine figure? What authority and glory does he receive? Why do you think Jesus called himself "the Son of Man"? These and other scriptures describe "one like a son of man?" 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. 2.By taking the title "Son of Man," Jesus is saying, "I am the Son of Man spoken of in Daniel's prophecy!" And he confirms this in his trial before the Sanhedrin (Matthew 26:64). Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.3. He was described as being devine, soverign, Ancient of days, having an everlasting dominion, and having glory.Just before his ascension, Jesus told his disciples: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 4. These are some scriptures and there are others that let us know Jesus called himself the son of man.The Son of Man came from heaven. "No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven -- the Son of Man." (John 3:12-13) "When [Judas] was gone, Jesus said, 'Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.'" (John 13:31-32) "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am [the one I claim to be] and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me." (John 8:28)
  5. Q1. (Daniel 7:1-2) What is the relationship of the Ancient of Days (God) to various beastly nations that rage against each other and against him and his people? What happens to these beast-nations? Why is it sometimes so difficult to believe that God is in charge of the world we live in? Now Daniel sees a vision of God in his heavenly courtroom. God is in control, and far above the beasts and powers of the earth and sea. “The other beasts had been stripped of their authority, but were allowed to live for a period of time." "But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet.... The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur." 3. There is so much sin and disobedience in the world.People rather serve Satan than God.
  6. Q5. (Daniel 4:34-35) What does Nebuchadnezzar's confession tell us about God? Have you ever given a public testimony of what you have learned about God through your trials? He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: 'What have you done?'" (4:34-35) 2.Yes 3. My son was getting out of prison and did not have anywhere to stay in Texas. He had to live where he got in trouble at. I live in Louisiana. His ex-wife’s cousin let him stay with her and just pay one bill. She helped him all she could and was nice to him. Thank God he had a place to stay.
  7. 1. The king refuses to believe that God has all authority and acts as if nothing will happen to him. He continuously accepts attention from others. He has pride: Pride in his achievements -- the self-made man complex. "Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?" (4:30) · Pride in his terrible power, that everyone feared him, and didn't dare to challenge him (5:19a). This isolated him from truth, and made him more vulnerable to believe that whatever he thought was right. · Pride in his absolute authority to condemn and execute, to promote, and to humble at his own whim (5:19b). · Pride that hardens his heart (5:20a). Pride distorts our perception of reality. 2. It will if I let it show up in my clothes and looking extra, extra nice. 3. For us, what does it mean to be kind to the poor? That was certainly within Nebuchadnezzar's ability to accomplish. Is it within your ability? In what way can God's decrees be conditional? 1. He must renounce his sins by doing what is right, and his wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. 2. I must do the same thing and read my bible faithfully, repent everyday, pray continuously, and express love to all. 3. We must expressly love by helping others, witnessing to them in a respectful way, and giving our last if it comes to that. Let them see us living the life of God. 4. To acknowledge the truth is that God is the one who lifts people up and puts them down, who "gives [the kingdoms of men]to anyone he wishes.” 2. It is hard for a king when a he has to lower himself, put down pride, and understand that it is not about him, but about God. 3. It is hard for us when we realize we will not be the center of attention and perhaps not use what we have to gain the attention of others. It is hard for us to drop our pride and become humble. 4. He made it plain to the king about what had happened and witness to him through his testimony. Danie said, ”My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you,O king.” 2. He probably would not have been humble and let his attitude cause trouble. 3. 25. The food probably was not clean and maybe he did not want to rely on the King for anything. Daniel did not want to lean toward accepting the King's gifts or favors because it would be harder to resist temptation. It tells me that Daniel had his mind made up to obey God only. That is what Christians do.
