  1. Daniel and his friends grew up knowing that the body is the temple of the Lord so they could not risk by defiling their bodies with the kings food and wine. The Babylonians believed that the gods of the land were the ones who provided them with the food and by eating the food they will be defiling their bodies because they believed God as the only provider. Daniel's faith in God could not be shaken even when it was tested. He stood his ground in his belief in God.
  2. Yes. Recently I have moved from the Province where I was born and grew up and was working. I have to move with my wife and the three children that God has blessed us with. We moved to another Province which has got mixed cultures. Upon arriving I reaalised that these other cultures does not worship God the way we know. These people believe in their own cultural beliefs and for them to attend church does not mean anything because they can attend church while beliving in the sangomas, false prophets and idol worship. But it did not affect the way we used to worship God.
  3. Change of Culture, Names and Status. In Jerusalem they were from noble and royal families. In Babylon they were taken as slaves who will serve in the kings palace. Their names were in relation to their believe in the one triune God. So in Babylon they changed their names to that of their idol gods belonging to the land in order for them to convert them from their faithin God. It was not their choice to be eunuchs, They were forced by the change that they were experiencing. No they did not make any compromises but they stood firm in their believe in God although they were ready to serve in the kings palace.
