  1. Q3. (Daniel 1:8-10) Why do you think Daniel took a stand concerning being defiled by the king's food and wine? How do you think eating the king's food would cause defilement to Daniel's conscience? What does this tell you about Daniel? I believe that the king's diet included eating unclean animals because it seems obvious that it was sure to defile. Strictly observing jewish dietary rules meant not accepting the type of food. Daniel was brought up knowing that it was sin to eat any food that was forbidden by the jewish law. This simply means that Daniel was devoted to God and strictly stood for what he believed.
  2. Q2. (Daniel 1:1-7) What changes did Daniel and his friends experience? What was their status in Jerusalem? In Babylon? What do you think was the effect of changing their names to Babylonian names? What impact might it have on them to be made eunuchs? Did they make compromises? If so, why? Daniel and his friends were taken as slaves into a foreign nation. In Jerusalem they were from a royal family. In babylon they served the king in the palace. Change of names meant a change of their identity. Being made eunuchs means they would not have offsprings to continue their generations. They didn't compromise because they were devoted to God.
  3. Yes, in a village in my own country that was dominated by a believe in witchcraft. The cultures and taboos of the people influenced the way christians practised salvation. withstanding some evils in the society put me on a collision course with fellow believers. I chose not to compromise. This meant standing alone in most instances.
