  1. Q3. We humans need a physical sign. Could it be that it was a wind or a breeze that descended on Jesus filling him with the Holy spirit? Every one heard the voice of God. And God wanted all to know that Jesus was his son. It could also be the dove encircled Jesus as he came out of the water. We will not know till we get to heaven. But we do know that God was pleased with his son.
  2. Question 3. By giving to those in need. At my church several things have come about since covid has hit. 1. We do a brown bag meal for those who need it and live around the church. 2. A blessing box in front of the church with non perishable food stocked in it. 3. Wednesday night take out meal. For members who want a break from cooking. These are ways we are serving those in need during these trying times.
  3. Question 1. Why do you think God chose John to be the forerunner to Jesus? I think it was because John knew what he was destined for. Go back to when Elizabeth was pregnant with John and Mary came to stay with her. Both babies leapt in their wombs. Being cousins John knew Jesus was destined to become the Savior of the world. John was preparing the people for Jesus.
  4. Question 1. I think God used John to shed light on the coming of Jesus. They were cousins after all. John knew what Jesus would become.
  5. Well my first attempt didnt work so will try again. I will answer question 1. I believe Luke wrote his gospel from the many eyewitnesses that had been around Jesus when he was on earth. Luke would have been very much into giving detail about his writings. He also had Marks gospel to fall back on.
  6. Hi all. My answer to question one is: that Luke wrote his gospel from many eyewitnesses. He had Marks gospel. Being a doctor he would be very much into detail. I also think je probably thought long and hard about how he would convey his message.

  7. Question 1. Because we are tied to Christ. He hurts when we hurt. Paul was hurting Christians and Christ. So God wanted him to see what he was doing. Goads: God has been persistant with me with goads. Helping with the youth. Being an Elder. He prods and prods till we say yes.
  8. Q2. God enabled His spirit the Holy Spirit on the 70 Elders. He took it from Moses and put it on the Elders. Helping Moses out. What happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon them? They prophesied but they did not do it again. Why does Moses long for the Spirit to come upon all God's people? Moses was not jealous he wanted the Holy Spirit to come upon the people. It only happened to a few. Moses wanted to happen to everyone.
  9. Hi my name is Sally and I too live in Florida. On the lovely Gulf of Mexico side. Where a year ago today we were all hunkered down awaiting Hurricane Irma. Was not a fun week and am praying for those in the Carolinas. I am active in my church sing in the choir. Work with the youth. I also like to craft and have discovered the new craze of diamond painting. Haven't done one yet but I will.
  10. They are anointed by God with the oil. The Holy Spirit filled them and came to reside in them.mEven though we are not anointed with oil we are still filled with the Holy Spirit and He resides in us.
  11. I think they don't realize there is a heavenly homeland. That when they die they will go to that home in heaven. They have definitely forgotten who they are and whose they are. Not relying on God is not good. Yes I did do this and sometimes I catch myself doing it, and have to remind myself that I need to rely on God more.
