  1. This is an important teaching. We say " in Jesus' name" at the end of our prayers because Jesus required us to do so, " Anything you ask in my name I will do that the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:14 In our church I think it is perceived as the "magic" phrase that makes the prayer acceptable. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The words appeal to Jesus authority and imply we ask this in accordance with the will of the Father. If Jesus were praying, in the flesh, with us, he would have asked for the same thing. So we can " stamp the prayer with His approval" as we submit it to a God. I will definitely revisit this for Bible study on Friday.
