  1. During tests and trials we only have comfort in the hope of our salvation. During these trials is when we grow closer to God. That is when we feel His presence more than any other time.
  2. Our part is to have faith. The Lord secures our faith, when we, in our battle with our flesh, wander and stumble. This represents a great comfort to me. To know that a powerful God is securing my salvation, even when I am not strong enough is awesome!
  3. We are saved by grace, the sprinkling of Jesus blood gave us forgiveness. As a believer in Jeus redemptive work, we are endowed with His Spirit. If His Spirit lives in you, you want to be obedient. If you have no desire for obedience, then I would have to question if you are really endowed with His Spirit, which would also make me question if you are really saved.
  4. I believe we are all guilty of having earthly desires. It's our sinful flesh which takes control if we let it. The one and only way to combat this is to be in the Word and prayer, followed by surrounding ourselves with believers that will encourgae us and hold us accountable. I find that at times I have to stop and think about how this is all temporary here on earth. I have to ask the Lord to help me see my life in the light of eternity.
  5. These verses show us the deity of Jesus Christ. He was with the Father in the beginning, and He is with the Father today, and He will be forever. The Trinity, the Father and Son and Holy Spirit is one.
  6. It is important that Jesus Christ himself is the witness. This gives believers complete assurance that these events will occur. We are encouraged to remain faithful because we know He is coming back for us. Jesus is God, He cannot lie. We can look to the future with hope and confidence that He will come back for His church, because He said so.. There is more and more persecution of Christ followers around the world. We hear about it here in the US, how Islamic terrorists are beheading people because of their faith in Jesus Christ. I think as believers and followers of Christ we are not surprised that these things are happening. It says in the Bible that these things will happen. Praise God for the assurance that Jesus has overcome the world and He will be back to take us home.
  7. It must have been immensely important for Joshua to know that God was with him. Without the mighty hand and miraculous events by God he would not have defeated his enemies. Even when the requests seemed impossible, like to ask that the sun stand still, he knew the Lord was with him. He was able to be courageous and confident because he knew the Lord went before him, and the victory was already his. Even when we fail, just like the Israelites failed, He does not forsake us.
  8. God wanted to see Joshua's faith through his actions. The Lord wants to see us step out in faith, not just wait for a "sign". James 2:20 Faith without works is dead.
