  1. I believe that God ordered the slaughter of all the people in Jericho because they were too sinful, they have no regard for or belief in God By God's grace I am trying to devote myself to God by keeping my body pure and trying to live by His commands. Jesus and Paul teaches us that our bodies are temple of God, so we should keep it clean and pure.
  2. The seven days of marching with the ark meant that God is in their midst and He has given them the city. The ark represent 'the throne of Almighty God. ' The mechanism that God used to make the walls fall down is by causing an earthquake.
  3. When the Commander of God's Armies is with us, it signifies security, whether we see them or not. If He is to fight my battle, my job consist of being obedient and being fearless.
  4. Joshua challenged the unknown warrior by asking him if he was for them or whether he has come to fight them. The Commander was God Himself. God the Warrior. When we encounter Him, it is required of us to humble ourselves, because we know that God is for us. It is hard for us to submit ourselves to God because we like going our own way which we think is easy and sweet.
  5. The manna ceased because they have reached the promise land where they can cultivate. We experience times of manna to show how strong our faith in God is, and at times Godmade the manna to cease know if we rreally love and believe in Him.
  6. The men stack river boulders as a remembrance to tell generations to come what God did for them. Faith monument today helps us to know what happens in the past. There is also a danger of following what is wrong. Our church building has no monument.
  7. Joshua was able to announce tge miracle of the Jordan, because he fully believes in God. Our faith must always be on God, not on ourselves. Because of Joshua's faith, God made him to be respected by the people and God was always with him.
  8. The Israelites have to consecrate themselves so that they would be pure and clean for God to be in their midst. One way to reconsecrate myself is to pray and ask for forgiveness and live the way God wants me to live, and to even fast; the congregation would have to do the same.
  9. The Isrealites have to break camp because they have to be ready to take possession of the land of Jericho, they have to regain their fighting spirit. One of my daily routine is to pray in the morning and before going to bed. To make myself ready I have to steadfastly prepare myself.
  10. Yes, Rahab was honoured for lying to the king's men. Her lying was justified because it saves the lives of just men. Yes. With the wisdom of God to save just people.
  11. The prostitute was honoured because of her faith in the God of Israel. Prostitution is a sin in the sight of God and prostitutes are regarded as sinners. Jesus treats prostitutes with love; this shows that God hates sin but loves the sinner and wants them to repent and turn from their sins.
  12. By hiding the spies and kyi g to her own people indicates that Rahab had believed in Israel's God. She believed that the God of Israel is the God of heaven and earth and He has given Jericho to the Isrealites. Your faith must be so deep that you can do anything that is pleasing to God without thinking about anything detrimental to you, and you would be saved from eternal punishment.
  13. The spies were sent to spy the land of Jericho and its people to know their strength and weakness. They lodge in a prostitute house because it would be a safe place and they would be able to ask the prostitute to help them. I think their going to the prostitute is by divine providence.
  14. Meditate is to think on it, to ponder and set your mind on it, always thinking on it. Eastern meditation is not what God commands, so it is different from Christian meditation. When we study God's Word daily, and meditate on it, our minds are being renewed.
  15. Joshua would have feared the height and strength of the people in the land and also their fighting weapons. To be strong and courageous is not to fear at all and don't look at your own weaknesses. In Joshua's situation strength always overcome fear. If you are fearful you won't be courageous, only faith gives courage.
  16. Because without God he can do nothing. It is important to me fo the same reason. If God is with me I have no limitations.
  17. The promise is conditional. Faith born of philosophy is not good, ypu won't be able to achieve what God wants you to achieve. God has promise me not to fear, and I must press forward on that.
