The Glory of God, has always appeared to me to be a depiction of His Majesty and Power. It is in Him that we understand these concepts to be fully and best portrayed. The Glory of God is pure and holy. And though not put on display in this dispensation as it was in the OT, we have a glimpse of His Glory when we look at Christ. And when we allow Him to enable us to purity and holiness.

Similar to the previous question, the concept of God being high and lofty, lifted above the earth and all in it, is challenging to fully comprehend. However, His position causes awe in my mind, reverence in my life, and holiness in my action.

The Augustness of his highness should cause me to be reverent and purposeful in my service to Him. So I consider what He desires, to be more important than anything else in life.Especially in worship. I'm reminded of Paul's exhortation to do all things decently and in order. I learn from God's exalted position that He is pleased with order, and intentional devotion and worship. Devotion in my personal life which equates to holy and pure living, and worship as He has prescribed in our assemblies.

Abraham as well as Melchizedek both believed in one God, who is the creator of the heavens and the earth.

I do not believe that Abraham was expecting to do anything else than to give Isaac as an offering. Abraham we are told by the inspired writer of Hebrews expected God to raise him from the dead. I think further as he pondered what was to be said to Sarah, he soothed his conscience by reminding himself that "Jehovah will see to it". No doubt he wondered what his acquaintances in the land would say when they found out that he had sacrificed Isaac, and again concluded "Jehovah will see to it". I have often been suprised unexpected gifts, or circumstances that have worked out to good for me. But God's providence is not always so clear immediately.
