  1. The Holy Spirit's presence is neccessary in our ministry because without it we will have a natural led ministry. Also, we need the power of the Holy Spirit to complete the work of God, without out it we have no power. Will power will never get the work of the Lord anywhere. The Lord's work is Spiritual and we can not do Spiritual things with worldly will-power. The two don't mix.
  2. Q2. (1 John 1:5-7) What is the result when a Christian walks in darkness, that is, continues willfully to do what he or she knows to be wrong? How does this involve self-deception? What is the result, according to verse 7, when we walk in the light? How do we get back into the light if we sin? Q-What is the result when a Christian walks in darkness, that is, continues willfully to do what he or she knows to be wrong? A-The result is sin. The Christian is walking in
  3. James has always spoke on works motivated by faith. So "pure religion" had to be more than just "quiet time or worship." There would have to be some action to it. If we are able to tame the tongue that would put us in a state of humility. When we become humble, God can do something with us and we will be motivated to want to go out and serve, not be served. The test here is to see if the Christian would humble themselves and follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
  4. The "perfect law" is the law of love. Loving God and loving one's neighbor sums up the law. My definition of the "perfect law" is when we learn how to first love ourselves through the forgiveness of our Lord Jesus Christ. Once we can forgive ourselves, then we can move on to love ourselves and soon after love others as we love ourselves. I also learned that the gospel is the law and God's word is perfect. That's the law that can set us free. The "royal law" is very much similar to the "perfect law" in that it tells us to "love our neighbor as we love ourselves." These scriptures are there to give us liberty, whereas the law of the Old Testament keep us in bondage.
  5. I believe that we think that by listening to the Word of God, that we will naturally live out or lives according to His Word. But the Bible tells in James 1:22 that we need to be doers of the Word, not just hears. We need to do the Word so that we learn to live that "righteous" life that the Bible talks about. It takes practice to get the Word active in our lives along with help from the Holy Spirit.
  6. The Bible Say's in James 1:18 that "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth." The Word of truth is what not only saves us but it washes us clean of all sin. The Bible state that Jesus is the Word of truth. Spiritual life has allot to do with the Word. How can one say he is spiritual if the Word is not in him. We as Christians are to be lead by God's Word everyday.
  7. The promise is that God will gives us wisdom. The condition is that we ask. Something we as Christians need to ask more of including myself. Trials help us receive God's wisdom because hopefully we will ask God how to withstand the trail, or what to do in the midst of this trail. Then God will give us the wisdom to overcome. We walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7)
  8. When you're in a trail you have two choices, either to choose to look at God's Word for the answer or continue to do it your way. When you choose God's Word you become a person who is lead by His Word. So then you no longer have to choose from your own point, just His. The Bible teaches us that we should be led by the Word of God, in that case our mind should be the same mind that is in Christ Jesus, not a doubleminedness person. As far as trails go, each trail should increase our faith cause we have just experienced something that on our own we have not been able to do. But God gives us an increase of faith to continue through the trial. We look back at the trail we just went through and see how God got us through and the next time we face a trail we will have more faith.
  9. I believe that people "blame God" for evil because first off, I don't think they truly understand who God is. You see, some think that God who has created"everything" must have also created evil. Which we know is not true. The God that we serve is a "good" God. He doesn't create evil, nor does He tempt us with evil. In (Ps.5:4) the Bible say's "For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You." God is not the author of evil. Throughout the Bible we can find scripture after scripture where man has chosen to do evil without the help of God. God don't tempt sinful people with evil, if anything He shows them mercy. God from the beginning has allowed people to chose, to serve Him or to serve the devil. Sin is a choice. The question of why does God allow evil to exist at all, that's a good one. First of all, it is possible that God has reasons for allowing evil to exist that we simply cannot understand. In this the Christian can have confidence in God knowing that His ways are above our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). As the Bible says, the just shall live by faith (Hab. 2:4). Second, God may be letting evil run its course in order to prove that evil is evil and that suffering, which is the unfortunate product of evil, is further proof that anything contrary to God
  10. Trails have had much value in my life because they have shown me the love that God has for me. Trails have made me be a better person, Christan and Pastor. Satan has not destroyed me through trails. I have been saved for sometime now and have learned that the trails that I face on a daily basis help me to mature in my faith and can be used later in life to help others. God has indeed refined me through the trails I've faced. I believe that I have changed through the trails in my life, but it's all been for the Glory of God.
