  1. Q4. Have you ever felt you were of no worth or of no value? - Never. I know my worth in Christ. What does 1 Peter 1:18-19 say about your worth? What does it say about God's love for you? - My worth is the value of the blood of the Lamb. When God redeemed me with Christ's blood that means He loves me more than I'll ever know, a love that cannot be measured nor comprehend. What does it indicate about the long-term value of your balance sheet and financial assets? - That means I'm eternally wealthy in Christ, for in Him I'm an equal heir of the kingdom of God. What are your true long-term investments? Why? - My true long term investments are things pertaining to my soul because those are the worthy investments, where moths and rust can't destroy and thieves can't steal.
  2. Q3. Why are people in our culture so upset when they sense they are being judged by someone else? - Because people are naturally self righteous. How do you reconcile final judgment with God's love for the world? - God's love is what saves the world from God's wrath in the final judgment. Unfortunately, not everyone received His love. Why must final judgment be at the core of the Good News of Jesus Christ? - Because the good news of Jesus Christ is what saves us from the wrath of God in the judgment day. What happens to the Gospel when final judgment is left out or ignored? - If those who didn't receive Christ as their Savior will not face the judgment of God, it will make the suffering of Christ on the cross insignificant.
  3. - What about Christ's coming should get our undivided attention? Why should it inspire hope? Why should it inspire self-control and soberness? Christ's second coming is a hope believers are eagerly waiting for. This is the moment when he will reveal his grace to us, as he promised. It should inspire us to live a life pleasing before the Lord. Not only to be a part of the glorious appearing, but because we love him that we want to please him. - What happens in our lives when we don't really expect Christ to come soon? When we don't expect Christ to come soon we tend to plan and work pertaining to this world, as if we belong here.
  4. - According to 1 Peter 1:8-9, what is the basis of Christian joy that is "inexpressible and glorious"? The salvation of our souls. - How does this joy interplay with human emotions? Is it essentially emotional? No, it doesn't interplay with emotions. It is not about emotions. - How does it differ from what is generally regarded as the pursuit of "happiness"? Joy is eternal. Happiness is temporal and depended on the happenings. - Extra Credit: How can you tell the genuine article of joy from the counterfeit? When joy tends to falter it is counterfeit. The Lord put his joy in every believers' hearts and souls. It is placed intact and cannot be affected in any situation.
  5. - What is God's part in securing your salvation? God's part is to preserve and sustain me according to His plan. - What is your part? My part is to love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength, and everything will 'fall into place'.
  6. - Why do forgiveness (sprinkling) and obedience come together as a package? Because a forgiven individual is a new creation in Christ Jesus. He doesn't live on his own, but in the will of the Lord. - Why is it deceptive to think you can have one without the other? Because you might think you are saved, but may not be. - Extra credit: If true faith requires obedience, how can we say that we are saved by grace rather than works? Because it is those who do the will of the Father that are truly His children.
