  1. I'm seeing this Psalm from a personal perspective. I've been praying for a renewal of my relationship with GOD and a problem area that i have is with my cussing, and negative thoughts. My daily meditation seems to center on "let the fruit of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable unto Thee oh LORD" (paraphrased?). My thoughts and negative verbalization (?) of them are the bitter herbs and poison asps of my Spirit. My background is real shady and i would be counted amongst evil-doers. That was over 10 years ago before The LORD gave me new life. Now, going thru turmoil of backsliding, i reach out to The LORD for help, for guidance, for strength, for conviction, for real love in my heart.....
  2. A. Study one Psalm with Autumn. Maybe 1 each week or 1 each month? Really break it down WITH her. Try to get input from her. (Maybe before we go fishing or swimming-not long-maybe 5 or 10 mins to start with). B. In dwelling with someone that would mean having a close relationship with that Person (dwell/abide is more than just sharing a room with... its more being at home with). So then how do we have a close relationship with YAHWEH? By being a person of true integrity .Doing the next right thing. Always tell the truth. Doesnt talk (gossip) about others or plot against them or shame them (perhaps to lift ourselves up in anothers eyes).Hates sin and won't have anything to do with those who follow after it (not real fellowship anyway). Wants to be around those who know The LORD, YAHWEH. Those who keep their promises no matter what (Matt.5:37). Not so being concerned about money that its put in front of people (no taking advantage of people who are down or in need for personal gain). Not taking bribes (putting someone above another for personal gain) {can't have 2 masters}. Do these things and you will have a solid foundation that your relationship can be built upon.
  3. A. It's very easy to get caught up in the things of this world. We see the seemingly prosperous way of the 'sinner', those who chase after the 'almighty' dollar, or seem to gain thru illicit means. We have to be reminded of TRUE prosperity and the way to that end. B. 1:3 Reminds me of Isaiah 40:28-31. Wait upon, Trust in, Have confidence in. Just as father and son (child). The son listens ( little tots that is)intently to the father and mimics his every move- and if they have a good father they shall receive good instruction that will make their way successful. Of course tots grow up and start doing their own thing (usually for acceptance from peers {the world}.) Kind of an analogy of the newly born Christians -myself included- the initial zeal, hanging onto every word, and the temptation of regressing back into old behaviors and prioritizing matters according to world standards and not YAHWEHs' (Matt. 13:22, Mark 4:19)
  4. A. I have looked at this Psalm another way in times past. When David writes; i have interpreted the first part to mean our LORD's-YAHWEH's intimate knowledge of me/us. HIS going behind and before reminds me of Exodus ( guidance/protection), HIS knowledge and understanding and creation of us is awe-inspiring and 'too wonderful to me' and relation-ally, HIS care and love for us... (i cannot fathom). Even when we run away from HIM (rejecting HIS law and truth in favor of our own self-governance), HE is still with us no matter where we run or how far we go in trying to hide or get away from HIM ( in favor of living the way that we want to without conviction).- anyway this is just a personal interpretation for me and not etymologically correct. B. YAHWEH, help me to be more of the person YOU would have me to be. i'm not able to do it on my own. i need YOU to help me ant to pretty much take me by the hand because i have a real hard time in keeping on the path.
  5. Memorizing- The two vss that really stood out for me personally."Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight oh YAHWEH my Strength and my Redeemer". The tongue is a really hard thing for me to tame and i have a really hard time not to complain about things. And "Search me oh YAHWEH and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me and lead me in The Way everlasting" (Ps 139:23f). In trials let me refer back to 19:14.
  6. Q2. A parallelism. YAHWEH as we can see and experience HIM thru HIS awesome creation, then as we can come to know HIM thru HIS Word. Manifested. To be made known and to come to know. ginosko #1097 / epiginosko #1921. Go up into the mountains, camping where there is NO light around for miles and then gaze up into the wonder above. Psalm 119:18 ; "open thou mine eyes that i may behold the wonderous things out of Thy law" Humbly asking YAHWEH for help and guidance for doing those things that are pleasing to HIM.
  7. Can we put into words the greatness of GOD? i can only fathom that HE IS. HE has always been and will always be. HE is Creator. HE is Father. He is love. HE is Provider,Healer, ALL things to ALL people. All-Sufficient. HE is so much more than i can even think or imagine. HE is YAHWEH. And then to think that we could even be counted worthy of HIS attention. WOW!!
