  1. It demands us to set ourselves apart from the world and continually sanctify ourselves. For He is holy and he expects it from us. He longs for us to keep his commands as well. We need to be willing to do the work of the Lord when God asks to do it no matter what the cost. He also would want us to live in peace with all men and make things right with everyone. The characteristic that made the goats what they were was there lack of following Christ’s decrees and helping the least of the least these. The same went for the sheep only they chose to do it.
  2. The statements say that Jesus is who say He is. It confirms that He is God in the flesh come down to earth to save us from our sins and do God’s will. I am The Resurrection and the Life because it speaks to me about how I will see my loved ones again in heaven.
  3. I would say because we must be willig to do what He says no matter what the cost is. No because then we are making a mockery out of Him and the cross. My food addiction and shopping addiction I am constantly submitting to it since they are constant struggle for me.
  4. It is such an exalted one because of the fact that He is God Himself! He is God incarnate or God in the flesh. That says a lot about Jesus. It states the very fact that Jesus is equal with God and should be exalted in all areas of a person’s life. It tells us that His Divinity was a complete and total thing. There was no area left untouched by it.
  5. This states that God and Jesus were one in all senses of the term. They were one in divinity because from the beginning of time they were in existence. For when the world was created Jesus was there. He is able to do things that only someone with the ability of divine power could do. It differs from us because Jesus was the only child born of Mary and God to be God’s Son and do die on the cross. It speaks of how important it was for Jesus to be born and die on the cross. It speaks on how awesome God truly is. It was very costly since only the blood of Jesus could quench the wrath of God and restore us to a right relationship with God.
  6. From what the Bible states God’s love is nothing like a human parent’s love at all. He chose to give up His only Son because He loved us so much that He didn’t want to be separated from us anymore. He chose to do it out of love and that love was so strong that nothing but the death of Jesus, His Son would suffice the atonement of sin for our sins. It tells us that God’s love for us is great and deep.
  7. The title Son of God gives equality to Jesus because it verifies that He was born of God. It also tells us that God’s son will reign be the one in the end. It speaks of the connection Jesus had with His Father because of the fact He was the first born of many sons. He was to be the one who would die for the world. He is equal with the Father in the fact that He had the ability to forgive sins just like the Father did as well. He had the ability to heal the sick and raise the dead back to life. He had the ability to do things that only the Messiah could do because He was directly connected with the Father and could only do the will of the Father. He had the ability to mute the demons and make them quiet. Yes because they are one. Yes I do for I am saved by the Lord. Yes but not as much as I should.
  8. It means to heed Him when He tells to do something or not do something. It also means listening to Him as you pray and not rushing off as you pray and not waiting for an answer. I spend time in His Word, in recovery for an eating disorder with a Christian sponsor and doing weekly meetings and answer questions to all my loops for my recovery and pray daily as well as do devotions. I need to spend more time waiting for answers to prayer and be more obedient to my mom as well.
  9. The title “Branch” came from either Jesse David’s father or David himself. It is a family tree term. It also refers to the Lord’s role as High Priest as well. It also describes Him as the Suffering Servant in Isaiah. A branch is a stem or extension from the axis of a tree. The branch will be beautiful and glorious according to Isaiah. The root is the source of life for the tree.
  10. The chief priests were so angry about the children referring to Jesus as Son of David because they were under the rule of the Roman government and what they were expecting for a Messiah was not someone who healed the sick and the lame and gave sight to the blind and raised the dead but someone who would usurp the Roman government and take over David’s throne. It signify that He comes in the name of the Most High but also is part of the lineage of David as well.
  11. According to the Amplified Bible Version Peter believed Jesus to be the Christ, The Messiah, The Anointed, and the Son of the Living God. The Lord replies that he is blessed, happy, spiritually secure and favored by God since flesh and blood (mortal man) did not reveal it to him but by His Father who is in heaven. I believe He commanded them to not to tell to avoid publicity when it came to His ministry and mission in His life. That way He would not bring glory to Himself but to His Father instead.
  12. Isaiah 53 is my favorite Messainic prophecy because it speaks of Christ's sacrifice and how He chose to die for us and take the penalty of our sins upon Himself. Why since it constantly reminds me that I need a Savior and Redeemer for my sins daily who can atone for them since I cannot possibly do it myself. My favorite title is My Beloved. Because He is mine and I am His when I pray I know He will answer me and hear my prayer when I am faithful to Him.
  13. The meaning of the two names is anointed one. It also means to smear with oil as well. Jesus was set apart to do the Father’s work here on earth which was to die on the cross and save us from our sins. The anointing of the Holy Spirit that the Lord received after His baptism was significant because it showed the world that He was the promised Messiah and the Son Of David they were looking for. He was to be the King that would bring peace to the world but what they did not realize how He would bring it would be through His word and His death and they didn’t understand that at all. His type of peace was not going to come easily for them. He would talk in parables to them in order to tell them that they did not understand Him or His purpose on Earth. The Davidic Covenant greatly influences the expectation of a Messiah in his day. They were expecting a Messiah who would deliver them from the oppressive reign of the Roman government at the time. They were looking for a king who would come in and take over the reign of king and bring peace to Jerusalem and all of Israel. But what they did not know is that peace would not come until Christ’s second coming.
  14. Jesus is the Only one fit for the job because He himself took our sins upon Himself at the cross. He intercedes for us on our behalf when the enemy Satan accuses us of wrongdoing aka sin. We are voiding it out by choosing to let the minister/saint to do the work of Jesus Christ instead which is not right. Jesus is the legal assistant advocate for our lives and sins that makes us right before God when Satan comes before God to accuse us of sins. For Christ is righteous enough to be our advocate and come before God and make us righteous in God’s eyes. I hate to say it but I am not an advocate for the powerless in my community since I am homebound. I am a lay counselor and server as one in a ministry position and love doing it.
  15. He is acquainted with sorrows because He went through grief Himself. Also the very fact He spent so much time with His Father every morning to center Himself on His one true mission in life which was the cross to begin with. He chose not to rely on His own strength but on the Father’s instead. He went through even when it came to the time for His departure from here. He was in such turmoil that he cried tears of blood. We can be acquainted with it by learning to feel our emotions naturally and then accepting them as part of the healing process. However we can also learn to pray to the Lord for help when things get hectic and things get out of control.
  16. It means that i must do everything in my spiritual life to obey Him and worship Him. It also means that I must obey Him as I recover from my addiction to food as an idol and materialism as an idol. That means working the 12 steps faithfully according to the Bible that I have and doing what it says no matter how hard it is. That means daily giving God control of all my situations and letting him take the wheel and have control and instead of me being control. Since I have made a complete mess out of my life as is. That means taking time out of my day to spend it with Him.
  17. The Son of Man will resemble a man. He comes on the clouds of heaven, perhaps denoting his heavenly origin. Approaches the Ancient of Days, a figure obviously representing God. Receives authority, glory, and sovereign power. Is worshipped by people of all nations and languages. Possesses an everlasting kingdom. Jesus spoke of himself as the Son of Man many times in the Bible. He referenced it several times as He spoke of Himself. He said that you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of God. Referencing Himself at the time about sitting next to God. The sanhedrin were incensed at the very idea of someone being equal with God.
  18. Jesus’ truth contrasts with the world’s in the fact that they believe that living together is okay. They also believe adultery is okay. They believe any sin is okay. They believe that Christians condemn sinners and sin both when that is not how it is. Jesus condemns the sin but loves the sinners. It also believes that love is when two people of the same sex marry. But that is not how Jesus sees it. For even Jesus sees that as sin because He hates what His Father hates. For He came from His father to begin with. Also the fact that the world believe that Jesus would let homosexuals love who they want to love! That is a lie from the pit of hell! That is not true. Jesus would not agree with that! God’s son does not allow for that at all. He also did not create them to be that way either! His wisdom is from heaven while the earthly wisdom is demonic. Also it says the opposite of God’s word and says the things that are contrary to it. Bible memorization and Being in a church where I was being taught.
  19. Jesus is called the true and faithful witness for many reasons. One of them being the fact that he testified of His Father and His Father’s Word. Everything He did was of His Father. He was sent from above meaning Heaven. God sent Him down here to die on a cross to save our souls. He witnessed to the truth of the Truth of God’s Word and what His word meant to the sinner. He was faithful to it by dying on the cross and not asking for another way out of it. He also did whatever the Father asked of Him no matter what the authorities thought. He did what the Father requested of Him no matter how hard it was. He did according to the Father’s will not His. Through Him He also testified of God’s power against Satan. Through His blood He testified of the power of the healing that God had over the world’s infirmities and all its diseases. He testified to the truth that He had the ability to raise the body from the dead when He Himself rose from the dead. He made it clear that He alone had the power to do what no other God could do! I have to admit that at times I have not been the best witness at all. I need to reach out to more people to make connections in order to start witnessing. It would look something like this: I would be bringing more people to Christ; and i would be glorifying Him through all of my actions as well
  20. Q2. (John 1:1-3, 14) In what sense is Jesus the Word of God? Why do you think he is called this? Why does John call him the Word of Life (1 John 1:1)? What does this say to us about the importance of hearing, meditating on, and internalizing Jesus' words? Jesus is God’s Word personified. He is the very Word because He is God in the flesh and speaks for Him. John calls him this because he knew from the Old Testament what it says about the Messiah and what signs and wonders he would do. He believed that Jesus was the Son of God, that He was divine. John calls him the Word of Life because He comes from the Father and that He speaks whatever the Father tells him. He is the Word incarnate and whatever He says is true because He and the Father are one. He cannot lie but always tells the truth and speaks words that came from God. He is the Word of Life because we can only have eternal life through Him. Jesus, the Father, and the Spirit all agree and are one together. So the Spirit confirms whatever He says because it is the truth. This tells us that in order to really know Jesus we must study the Word. We must spend time in prayer, bible study, and meditating and memorizing verses in order to draw closer to Him. The more time we spend in the Word and thinking about what He said the more like Him we will become.
  21. Jesus is the Word of God essentially because He came from God and spoke the Word and spoke only the truth. He is the Word because everything He said was verified by the Holy Spirit. He is the Word of God who satisfies the deepest longing in our souls as well. I believe He is called this because He spoke the truth and not lies and that He came heaven where His father was and did deeds that were considered to be acts of healings that were miracles that none had seen before. John calls Him the Word of Life because Jesus Himself declared that He was the Way the Truth and the Life! That means He had words that could bring the dead back to life. It also meant his life’s blood would bring life to a world of sinners. As Mark 4:24 states in the amplified classic the more time we spend in His word by studying, meditating and listening to it and internalizing it the more will come back to us.
  22. My relationship to Jesus as Rabbii is not as close as it should be right now. I have let other things come in between and have trouble trusting Him now. Right now I am not as teachable as I should be. I do not always listen to what He is trying to tell me through His Word. I feel distant from Him at times. I do not spend enough time with Him as I should. I read the Bible every day but often do not take the time to pray as I should. I find it hard to concentrate as I should when I do not have enough sleep.
  23. My relationship to Jesus or Yeshua as my Rabbi or Rabboni or Teacher is very close. I reach out to Him as I read the Scriptures and am willing to do what He says even if it means death or being ostracized. I am willing to do His mission because of His love for me knowing that He died for me. I go to Him for teaching daily by reading the Bible daily and praying as I read. I receive it willingly even when it corrects me. I am extremely teachable at this time. At one time I was teachable because of sin in my life.
  24. Question Three When you pray in Jesus name you are asking that His will be done. You are seeking to find out what He wants or desires you to do. You are not praying to fulfill your own desires or wishes. You are seeking to fulfill His wishes and to bring God’s kingdom here on earth. You are under Him so you must pray according to what is in His will not yours. Yes, I do when I am praying to God about things I know He wants for me. I try to line up my prayer according to what His will is for me. I pray in Jesus name because Jesus is our mediator and advocate with the Father. It is what we have been taught to do. When we pray in His name we are limited to pray for things that He prayed for and what things are listed in His Word. We are not to pray selfishly for worldly things; like to be wealthy, famous or well-known like others. We are to pray for forgiveness, salvation of others, unity in the church, sanctification of all believers and for everyone to be more like Him.
  25. Q2. In what ways does taking Jesus' name on ourselves, or identifying ourselves with him, open us to shame and persecution? Have you seen examples of this in your own experience? What actions might show that a Christian is ashamed of Jesus? What actions might show that a Christian is unashamed of Jesus? Q2. In what ways does taking Jesus' name on ourselves, or identifying ourselves with him, open us to shame and persecution? Have you seen examples of this in your own experience? What actions might show that a Christian is ashamed of Jesus? What actions might show that a Christian is unashamed of Jesus? When we take on the name of Jesus we open up ourselves to ridicule and scorn. Ridicule from people who do not believe in God and think it is only a crutch we use. We open up ourselves to being poked fun of and laughed at because we do not follow the crowd. We open up ourselves to questions about the Bible and its authenticity and to skeptics saying it is only a book of fables and that Jesus was just a mere man or prophet. We open up ourselves to others who think we are being narrow minded and that there is more than one way to get to heaven. We might open ourselves up to being blamed for the deaths of other people years ago by so called Christians. I have seen it in a place I worked at before where a supervisor was uncomfortable when I read a song I had written at a residents funeral in a nursing home. I seen it in someone else’s lifer when I was a teenager; when a guy in school was beaten up. A Christian shows they are not ashamed of Jesus by openly talking about how He has changed them. They show they are His by obeying His commandments even if they get laughed at or fired. They show they are not ashamed by loving the very ones who hate them and praying for them. A Christian shows they are ashamed by keeping quiet and not speaking about their faith or beliefs because they are afraid. They show they are ashamed by not witnessing or speaking out for those who cannot speak; like unborn babies. When they fail to show a difference in their speech or actions and let the world creep in and take over.
