  1. Yes, I have had a nudge giving me insight into the spiritual state of those around me. When feeling those nudges I feel we should be asking God how we can be used In that situation. Is it to speak a special word to the person? Or a gesture of kindness? Or simply to listen and show care and concern? Several occasions I have received a nudge that I believe has resulted in helping people. One thing I learned from some of these situations is that people will appreciate and be watching your actions and often receive them as a blessing. (My hope is that they see HIM/Jesus through the action.) (It sometimes has lead to follow up with more inquiries, or friendships or a future opportunity to relate with this person.)
  2. Q1. (Acts 8:26-40; 16:6-10) Are promptings from the Holy Spirit clear enough when we're seeking God for direction? Why is "no" just as important an answer as "yes"? Have you ever felt God's promptings to take some action? If you followed through, what happened? 1. I find that promptings of the Holy Spirit are not always clear. Often, I find it a struggle to feel confident and what I am hearing from God. Sometimes wondering if it is my own feelings, over the true direction of the Lord. 2. Hey “no” is very important. Though depending on our own desires may be difficult to hear and abide by. “No” can protect us from many things that we may not even realize. 3. I have felt God‘s prompting to take action. I have followed through in doing so. One time in particular stands out is when I was prompted to give my double stroller that i was using at that very moment with my own 2 kids in it. I encountered a very needy family with 4-5 small children struggling to get where they were heading. I felt the Lord lead me to give them my stroller, and tell them how much Jesus loves them. The family was very thankful. I felt a sense of contentment feeling the presence of God leading me.
  3. Q3. (Acts 19:21; 20:22-24; 21:12-14) What would have happened if Paul hadn't been sure of his instructions from the Holy Spirit to go to Jerusalem? Being “unclear-unsure” of a direction given to us by God will lead to a life of uncertainty. Always questioning decision making, feeling of being uncertain or uneasy/unsettled in our spirit. Would you have tried to dissuade him? I most likely would have spoke about the reality of the dangers within the journey, and leaned towards safety of not going. But over the years i have strongly developed the belief, (as many probably do) if we follow what we believe is Gods “voice” what’s meant to be will be. (Good or bad in the eyes of a believer.) It's comforting to receive encouraging words. What level of maturity does it take to receive a direction that might lead us into hardship and danger? I believe it requires a certain level of maturity, and definetly would create growth as a Christian. What happens when we choose the easy way, when God leads us on a difficult path? Choosing the easier path may lead to an uneasiness that will keep you searching and possibly never content with clearly hearing the voice of God.
