Why is humbling (such as repentance and baptism in John's day) necessary to form disciples of Jesus? As I think about this, I realize how much I do to put on a front of perfection or a picture of superiority. People will form their opinion of me based on their experience of me...not based on how I want them to think. I pray to grow in genuine love and care for others. Humbling,repenting, turning from sin...all these are forming me to be Christ’s disciple, submitted to him—trusting Him to be the strength I lack.
