  1. The promises God made through Isaiah was that the prophecy would be fulfilled through the lineage of Jesse, referred to as a stem of Jesse and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The Holy Spirit would rest upon him (The Anointing) wisdom, understanding, the spirit of power, knowledge and the fear of the LORD . The Messiah. The prophesy was fulfilled, Jesus Christ who with righteousness would " smite the oppressors of the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked one". Judgement.
  2. What enables the 70 Elders to lead the people is the Holy Spirit. God again specifically ask for 70 elders. In Exodus 24;1, " And he said unto Moses, Come up unto the LORD thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel and worship ye afar". I would believe that the Elders were in leadership and were respected. God's Spirit goes upon whomever He chooses for His work and it was to assist Moses prophetically. Moses wanted the the Spirit of God to come down on all God's people, " The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them and you will be changed into a different person." 1 Samuel 10:6. The people needed to know the power of God.
  3. The primary purpose of God putting his Spirit upon selected individuals in the ., O.T is God is very specific about His assignments. He is Spirit and He knows and has a relationship with the spirit man. Bezalel, Moses, Gideon, Samson, David had a relationship with God in spirit. The effect the Spirit have upon their relationship is they believed and trusted God.

    Welcome

My name is Ida Atkinson and I live in a little town in South Carolina. I am one of the Sunday school teachers for the youth in our church and I love what I do for the Lord. I just want more and more of God. The relationship with God is so important, as I study I realize knowing God is great but what is most important is that He knows me. I'm always excited when God shows me something in the Word that even though I may have read it I'm excited when he reveals something new to me. I am looking forward to learning from Dr. Wilson.
