Having humility and being obedient to Gods will gives us victory in that we are no longer subjected to satans strongholds and we are set in the right path with the holy spirits guidance. Jesus even said those who humble themselves shall be exalted and those who exalt themselves will be humbled. Jesus humbled himself by being obedient to Gods will to suffer and die to be resurrected in order to fulfill prophecy and to allow the holy spirit to dwell with us on earth. He allowed the suffering. As a lion he could have stopped it instead he humbled himself , fought through earthly temptation , did not sin and walked right into his death even praying for his persecutors till the very end of the crucifixion.
