Christian doctrine is antithetical to the mindset of the world. In a day where "power" seems to intoxicate the hearts and minds of many of our leaders, who lord their positions over the people they have otherwise sworn to serve, their abuse typifies the depravity which dwells in the heart of mankind lost. Wanting to be God is the root cause of all sin, and every human being since the fall is susceptible to that temptation.This is the underlying problem of fallen humankind. Whereas Jesus, being God incarnate, emptied himself and became obedient to His Father's will for the good of others. He humbled himself even to the point of death on the cross in order to accomplish redemption on the part of his people so that we might follow his example as well, by humbling ourselves for the good of others and for the glory of Christ. And in due time, God will exalt us if we do not weary and lose heart. The last will be first, and the first last...
