  1. Q5. (Romans 5:1-2) What does it mean to be in a state of grace? According to the text, what is the role of faith in this? What is the opposite of "peace with God"? 5.1 What does it mean to be in a state of grace? To be in a state of grace means to live in the effect of justification enjoyed by faith. This "justification" is impossible by works because we are imperfect beings This means not to have to do anything but fully loved by God through his son Jesus Christ. Knowing that nor matter what I go through is temporary and my God is with me and will walk with through and by faith I will conquer. State of grace is believing everything is possible with God 5.2 What is the role of faith in this? According to Hebrews 11:1 "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of thing not seen". Central feature of faith you can see is confidence or trust, and the object of faith is God and his promises. Faith expresses itself in our everyday life. James. 2:17, wrotes that, "Faith by itself apart from works is dead". The role of faith is to show that we have a relationship with God. It is how we receive the benefits of what Jesus has done for us. 5..3 What is the opposite of "peace with God"? Col 3:15 says, "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful". The opposite of peace is not war, but fear. if you find yourself robbed of God's peace, embattled internally or externally, ask what it is that you fear, or fears, that we might be healed and ruled by God's peace. we have joy in the hopeof what is to come and the glory in the present affliction
  2. Q4. (Hosea 1-3) Why does Yahweh tell his prophet to marry a girl of ill repute? This is the way God shows His relationship with the people of Israel who have been unfaithful to Him by practicing idolatory. God wanted people of Israel to see the extent of their sin. What does the story of Hosea and Gomer teach us? How does the story illustrate God’s relationship with Israel? The story of Hosea and Gomer God illustrates his relationship with Israel by the redemption of Gomer through her husband 's forgiveness. What does it teach about grace? Regardless the shame, embarrassment Gomer caused Hosea, he still loved and forgave her, such is what our heavenly father does to us. Nor matter how we go astray and sin He is merciful and gracious. when we repent of our sins, he wipe them clean.
  3. Q3. (Exodus 34:7) What sins will Yahweh forgive those who repent? God forgives all sins of those who repent and turn away from their crooked ways. God forgives and yet does not leave sin unpunished. Forgiveness is the flow of God's love to all those who accept his son Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour and the welcoming them back to His favour. How might the sin of rebellion find its way into a believer’s life? Rebellion is disobedience to God and it is likened to spirit of divination. Divination is a parallel where pagans practice as a way of communicating with spirits. God is our source and divination is forbidden, hence rebellion is established on pride which says you can do things your own way and don't need guidance of God. you will start thinking you can solve your own problems and influence others and all glory goes to you not God. It is very dangerous to proud, rebellious, disobeying authority. Rebellion started in heaven with Lucifer and it kills. Why doesn’t God forgive those who refuse to repent and surrender to him? God loves sinners and calls them to salvation, however if they remain guilty and do not repent they will face the consequences of their unrepentant hearts. Peter puts it clearly in Act 2:38 that those who repent and baptised their sins are forgiven and receive the Hoy Spirit.
  4. In this passage we learn of the nature and attributes of God. In chapter 33: 18 Moses pleaded with God to show him his glory and God chose to grant Moses his request in 34:6. Moses went up the pinnacle of Mount Sinai and God descended on the cloud and stood there with him. God proclaimed a message to Moses about who He is " The Lord, the Lord, God- this name-Yahweh the same name for God that Abraham, Isaak and Jacob knew. God presented himself as eternal, omnipotent and unchangeable, he is the same yesterday, today and forever. After repeating his name twice, God reveals his glorious attributed to Moses. He is merciful and gracious - God is full of compassion, he lavishes us with undeserved free gift of his love. Long suffering - our God is slow to anger, he not short tempered and is patient with us nor matter how many times we fall in sin, he forgives us. That is grace. Abounding in goodness and truth- God has abundance of love, he is faithful and just.
  5. Grace differs from earning wages in that grace is an unmerited gift of love God gives us not because of our status, good behaviour or hard work. we do not have to do anything, God give it anyway while wages is earned for work done. Grace is undeserved favor given by God to sinners.
