BY ACCEPTING THESE GIFTS, MELCHIZEDEK WAS SHOWING ABRAHAM THAT HE WORSHIPPED THE SAME GOD AND GAVE GOD THE CREDIT FOR THE VICTORY. TITHING TODAY REPRESENTS THE SAME KIND OF WORSHIP. THANKING GOD FOR THE VICTORIES THAT WE HAVE. GIVING BACK TO GOD JUST ONE-TENTH IS A SURE WAY TO HAVE THE OTHER NINETY-PERCENT BLESSED. TITHING ON THE GROSS HAS A TWOFOLD BLESSING, ONE NOW AND THEN AT THE END OF THE YEAR WHEN THE TAXES COME DUE, GOD BLESSES THEM TOO. WHAT A GRACIOUS GOD WE SERVE!!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER PAY BILLS BEFORE TITHING. TITHE FIRST AND THOSE OTHER DOLLARS WILL SOMEHOW GET STRETCHED TO PAY THE OTHER NECESSARY THINGS..

ABRAHAM KNEW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE GOD TOLD HIM. ABRAHAM WAS ALWAYS IN COMMUNE WITH GOD THROUGH PRAYER. IT WAS HIS DUTY TO RESCUE LOT BECAUSE HE WAS A BLOOD RELATIVE. ABRAHAM HAD AN ARMY ALREADY TRAINED TO PROVIDE MILITARY ASSISTANCE. HE KNEW TO ATTACK AT NIGHT AND TO DIVIDE HIS FORCES FOR ATTACK SO AS TO SCARE THE SOLDIERS INTO FLEEING. ABRAHAM ONLY WANTED WHAT WAS HIS THAT THEY SEIZED. HE WAS VERY CONVINCING TO HIS NEIGHBORS, HAD A TREATY OR AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE NATIONS TO PROTECT THE AREA SO THEY JOINED HIM. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBORS AS IF THEY WERE FAMILY.

SOMETIMES IT IS PURE GREED. PHYSICAL POVERTY IS NOT A CURSE OF GOD. THESE PEOPLE WANT TO BE RICH BUT FALL PREY TO TEMPTATION AND ARE TRAPPED.

GOD WANTED ABRAHAM TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT SARAH BEING HIS WIFE. HE WANTED ABRAHAM TO TRUST HIM AND TO BELIEVE ON THESE PROMISES SO HE COULD FULFILL THEM FOR HIM. WITHOUT TRUST AND BELIEF THEY WOULD MEAN NOTHING.

ABRAHAM JUST WANTED TO SURVIVE SO HE WOULD DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING. LYING WS NOT THE WAY TO GO ABOUT IT THO. SARAH WAS A SUBMISSIVE WIFE AND WENT ALONG WITH HIM. IN THEIR TIME, IT PROBABLY WASN'T MORALLY WRONG BECAUSE THE TEN COMMANDMENTS WEREN'T SPOKEN. I THINK THEY HAD LACK OF FAITH THAT GOD WOULD BLESS THEM MIGHTILY AS HE PROMISED. WE SHOULD LEARN TO TRUST AND BELIEVE GOD WITH ALL HIS PROMISES.

GOD MADE WOMAN FOR ONE MAN, SO BEING MARRIED AND COMMITTING ADULTERY WITH ANOTHER IS VERY SERIOUS TO GOD. IT IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH AS A SIN AGAINST GOD HIMSELF. ALL SINS CAN BE FORGIVEN SO LONG AS REPENTANCE COMES FROM THE HEART. WE HAVE A MERCIFUL GOD THAT IS QUICK TO FORGIVE. IT GRIEVES GOD SO MUCH WHEN WE SIN, HE IS JUST WAITING FOR US TO ASK FOR FORGIVENESS..

BECAUSE HE (PHAROAH) TOOK SARAH AS HIS WIFE, HE AND HIS HOUSEHOLD BECAME SICK WITH DISEASES. SO PHAROAH SENT ABRAHAM & SARAH OUT OF EGYPT TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES. GOD WAS JUDGING PHAROAH FOR TAKING ANOTHER MAN'S WIFE.

THE DANGERS THAT FACED ABRAHAM & HIS FAMILY WERE : BEING VULNERABLE TO ATTACK BY EVIL PEOPLE, GANGS SEEKING TO RAPE BOTH SEXES OF SOJOURNERS. THEY ALSO FACED FAMINE. CERTAIN ETHNIC GROUPS HAVE MOVED TO OUR AREA BECAUSE AMERICA IS FREEDOM. FREEDOM IS NOT WHAT SOME COUNTRIES HAVE. SOMETIMES NOT SPEAKING OUR LANGUAGE THEY ARE SHUNNED IN THE COMMUNITY. WE SHOULD TRY HARDER TO COMMUNICATE AND SHOW GOD'S LOVE TO THEM. NOT ALL CRIME IS RELATED TO ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE SO WE SHOULDN'T JUDGE THEM. LEAVE THE JUDGING TO GOD!!

BECAUSE ABRAHAM NEEDED HELP AND GUIDANCE , HE CALLED ON THE LORD. THE CULTURE AROUND HIM CALLED ON OTHER GODS AND DIETIES. A BELIEVER OF THE ONE TRUE GOD-YAHWEH. WE MUST NOT HAVE IDOLS TODAY EITHER,WHICH CAN BE MANY THINGS RANGING FROM A-Z, OR ANYTHING THAT KEEPS US FROM THE ONE TRUE GOD. SO, LET US STUDY AND SHOW OURSELVES APPROVED.

BECAUSE OF THE UNKNOWN, IT TAKES GREAT FAITH TO STEP OUT AND DO SOMETHING NOT KNOWING WHAT THE OUTCOME WILL BE. IF GOD TAKES YOU TO IT HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH IT, SO LONG AS IT IS OF GOD AND NOT FLESH. WE SERVE AN ALL KNOWING GOD!

EVERYTIME SOMEONE COMES TO SALVATION WE CONTINUE TO BE BLESSED BY BEING ADDED TO HIS KINGDOM. ABRAHAM WAS GIVEN SUCCESS, PROSPERITY, LONGEVITY AND FAVOR IN GOD'S EYES BECAUSE OF HIS OBEDIENCE.

IT HAS HELPED ME TO LEARN THAT IT IS THE SIN THAT WE SHOULD HATE- BUT TO SHOW LOVE TO THE SINNER. TO SHOW LOVE TO OTHERS AS CHRIST SHOWS HIS LOVE TO ME. WE MUST DEFEND AND PROPAGATE THE FAITH AND RESIST FALSE TEACHINGS. THIS REQUIRES US TO STUDY GOD'S WORD AND TO KNOW THE TRUTH AND TEACHINGS OF SCRIPTURE. BY LISTENING TO, MEDITATING ON, AND PRACTIGING THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST. FOR ME TO BE BUILT UP BETTER, I MUST TURN A DEAF EAR ON FALSE TEACHERS BY KNOWING THE WRITTEN SCRIPTURES AND LIVING A GODLY LIFE.

CALLED; BECAUSE I KNOW THAT JESUS CHRIST LOVES ME AND KEEPS ME. I AM CALLED TO SPEAK THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS WORD, AND IF IN DOUBT, ASKING THROUGH PRAYER FOR THE WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE THAT I NEED. I KNOW HE LOVES ME AND WANTS ME TO BE SUCCESSFUL THROUGH THE PROMPTING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. IT IS A GREAT ENCOURAGEMENT TO KNOW THAT HE CARES ABOUT SUCH MINUTE THINGS.

Christ will return , though no one knows the hour or day, for His family. We need to live holy and godly lives so we will be judged accordingly. We must not become attached to worldly things as we are not of this world. Our goal should be the hope of a new heaven and a new earth. The Church should commit to missions throughout the whole world and to world evangelism. We need to emphasis the return of Christ as if it could happen in the very next hour and it could. So come Lord Jesus!

Not wanting to admit that we are sinners and doing wrong. There can not be salvation without first admitting that we need a savior. We must repent and God will cleanse us from the inside out. If it doesn't line up with God's Word then it is sin. Because of our prideful nature it is difficult to ask for forgiveness. The Lord is a God of compassion for sinners who sincerely repent. God doesn't want any to die in their sins. Believers should share in this desire. I repent of anything that the Holy Spirit convicts me of. It is always difficult because sometimes I don't realize it as sin. Thank God for His Saving Grace!!

The delay of Christ's return is related to the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world. Then the end will come. Christ believes that all He predicted can be accomplished in their generation. We must live in a tension between the imminency of Christ's coming and the fact that Christ has commanded us to keep on spreading the gospel around the world. This does not mean that all will be saved, because if a person rejects God's grace and salvation, then they will remain lost.

As I understand the word perish, it means to die, be destroyed or ruined. God does not want any to perish that do not know Him. God's perfect will is for all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Under God's permissive will, He will permit many to refuse to come to Christ and receive salvation. This saddens Him greatly!! It is not preached enough in our churches today. Afraid of hurting membership levels and offending someone. Well, Jesus said that if you have offended someone go to that person and ask to be forgiven, whomever is in the pulpit at that time can do it. The TRUE WORD of God needs to be preached in the pulpit even if some are uneasy with it, so long as it lines up with Biblical information. People need to know there is a hell and that it is real. We need to tell all that we come in contact with how much we are" Blessed" everyday.

Being a Senior citizen, I need daily reminders in all things! I think without reminders, we would very easily fall prey to Satan and his cohorts. Certain things in our lives remind us of good times and not so good times, that's when we should turn to God for His Promises. He said HE would be with us always and would not forsake us. So if He lives in me, all I have to do is speak as though things are and they will be. His Book is FULL of promises and He fulfills those promises through His Grace and Mercy daily. To remind others, we can show love, and go that extra mile to help in some way. Show the JESUS that lives in us....
