Solomon took over the throne while he was young and naïve. When a person is in leadership pride comes in and he starts glorifying himself instead of giving the glory to God. He start doing thing without the council of God. This is what David was warning Solomon about. We always look for easy ways to sort problems which in the long run makes us portray us as fraud or liars. We should be bold enough to accept our short comings and deal with issues directly

King Solomon doesn't act quickly to finish his enemies because He wanted to establish himself as King first then act.

The government is an institution but we have individual using principle, wisdom and knowledge to govern. I believe the principle can be applied in the performance of duty in government and judiciary. When delivering service to the public you must put the interest of the less fortunate at heart and show compassion to them. While making a ruling in the judiciary must be fair to all parties and show no favoritism

God promises the children of Israel peace i.e. He will give the rest David had the intention of building the temple but God thought it otherwise and told him a person from his linage will build the temple The Lord promised David that His throne is established forever and will not miss a person from his linage on the throne The Lord will discipline those who disobey His commandments
