  1. Pastor Ralph, I am going to finish the lessons later. We have had a funeral and moving to do this past week. I am behind on my lessons. I hope to finish later. Please send me the rest of the class lessons. Thanks so much. I've enjoyed it and learned a lot. Sincerely, Suzzanne
  2. 1. Mixing in with non-Christians sins gives them the "proof" that you aren't any better than they are. 2. We don't want to be picked on as "holier than thou", or a "goody goody" person and we don't want them to think we are judging their actions. 3. If we live our life in sin, the Bible is quite clear that we will have to give an accounting to God for our actions and we will be judged for those unforgiven sins.
  3. 1. When we think of all that Christ suffered on the cross for all our sins.....that is what keeps me focused on living for Christ to be free from sin....have nothing more to do with sinful thoughts and actions. 2. To live the rest of our earthly lives according to the will of God.
  4. Yes, I have pledged my faith in following Jesus Christ. It is a continual renewing of my vows to Him. I am trying to be aware of things He wants me to do and say so I will be a more effective follower. I was sprinkle dedicated when I was a baby. When I was in the Holy Land I wanted to renew my pledge to follow Christ so I was immersed and brought up out of the waters of the Jordan River. That was very meaningful to me and a pledge I will honor all my life.
  5. My sins, my unrighteousness and reconciliation with God all work together. That God would take away my sins and grant me eternal life in His Kingdom is the most awesome. What a Saviour we have! PTL!
  6. Q.2. 3:15-16 1. Our "human" nature wants to focus on "getting even" rather than keeping our focus on Christ. 2. To repay evil with evil rather than with goodness. 3. Be ready to give an answer....to be looking and listening for what God the Holy Spirit gives me to say, and then to say what is given me.
  7. This is answers to Question1. (3:8-9) I put Question 2 Answers in for Q. 1. Sorry. Was working ahead and got questions mixed up. I'm just learning!!! 1. Affection toward one another. 2. Humility I think is one thing we need to work on. 3. Live in Harmony, and be sympathetic and compassionate, as well as humble. 4. Do not repay evil with evil, or insult with insult...but repay with blessings.
  8. 1. Our "human" nature wants to focus on "getting even" rather than keeping our focus on Christ. 2. To repay evil with evil rather than with goodness. 3. Be ready to give an answer....to be looking and listening for what God the Holy Spirit gives me to say, and then to say what is given me.
  9. 1. We have to be in a "right" relationship with God, before He will hear our prayers. So, if a spouse is mistreated by the other, God will not honor their prayers. That works for either partner, or single persons.
  10. 1. The wife is the weaker partner and so that nothing will hinder the husband's prayers. 2. God will judge them if they misbehave toward their wife. 3. To show they are boss. 4. They want to be boss. 5. Causes conflict of interests. 6. We are to have the "servant" nature toward one another.
  11. 1. By showing respect, by being faithful to your vows, by being humble, considerate, and knowing who you are as a person; knowing when to keep silent and when to speak. 2. By letting the Holy Spirit guide you in everyday decisions. By being "at home" with His presence. 3. Because a life that is dedicated to doing right things is pleasing to God. 4. Living the way God wants us to live, is a shining example for a husband to see and experience. When the husband sees his wife's good works and righteous living, he can't help but want to do the same.
  12. 1. It reflects back to my husband and my God. 2. When too much is centered on "looks" we become short-sighted. 3. By yielding tothe Holy Spirit and letting that Spirit reign in our lives.
  13. 1. Giving up our personal "control" over to someone else and trusting their judgment or handling of the situation is sometimes difficult, and at other times it is a great relief. 2. Submission does not require you to be silent, but to abide by the other person's judgment. 3. Submission is wrong if you knowingly submit to something you already know is the wrong thing to do.
  14. 1. Because Satin is still here on earth and we are still in human form. 2. We must die to sin and live for righteousness. 3. By being on guard at all times to the lurings/temptations of evil of any kind. 4. By doing what is right, and live my life that is pleasing to God and lifts Him up rather than myself. He must increase and I must decrease.
  15. 1. When I go before my God for the final judgment, Jesus will step forward and pay the ultimate cost for all my sins. I have been purchased with His Blood. PTL AMEN!
  16. 1. A sacrifice is to be Holy - pure - without blemish. Jesus, the Messiah is the only one who could pay the ultimate price for my redemption. 2. Jesus suffered my sins from the very beginning when He began to sweat blood in Gethsemane ( oil press) and from then on until He gave His last drop of blood on the cross. He suffered all this time. 3. Only through His great Love for mankind.
  17. 1. Jesus suffered for my sins personally, physically and spiritually by taking my place on that cross and dying in my place at Judgment, even tho' He was without sin. PTL He Lives and I shall live also. PTL !!!
  18. 1. I have learned that when trouble, illness, or adverse situations arise, God may not take them away, but He will always be with me "thru' it all", and again, He may take the problems away. 2. I'm learning to lean on Him, I'm learning to trust Him in every situation, and once I have given over to His will....I am learning to LEAVE it with Him...not keep "taking it back" and re-hashing the situation.
  19. If I saw injustice in my work place, I hope I would be willing to stick my neck out and try to get the injustice corrected. God wants fairness in all situations. However, we are to be submissive to those in authority. 2. I don't think a sincere Christian will want to complain. 3. Because we are so full of gratitude for all God has done for us and is still doing for us. 4. If I was being treated unfairly, I would pray about the situation. I would hope that God would bring about change in me or change in the situation.
  20. 1. Whatever we do, we are to do it as unto the Lord. 2. God gave His all for us, we can do no less for Him in whatever we do.
  21. 1. God's glory is dependant on us living our life in such a way that others, and those who do not know the Lord, will be influenced to want to know God to the fullest. 2. God is sad when we do not submit to His way, nevertheless He never leaves us.
  22. 1. When others (non Christians) observe that we are doing "good deeds" openly as Christians, they will be influenced to change their ways. That will bring praise to God. 2. We are to be "separate" "called apart" to follow Christ's example....not to "blend in" with worldliness.
  23. (I am late getting this question answered. I got sidetracked yesterday reading the book of Jeremiah.) 1. Peter reminds us we are just passing thru' this world with all it's "trappings" and temptations. But, we are not to be lured by worldly possessions and ways. 2. We have a greater calling to follow in Jesus' footsteps . Looking unto Jesus.....
  24. Being chosen to be a child of God is so humbling, and inspires me to make Him known more and more and myself less and less. To live my life that is pleasing to Him. To think on Him continually with "todah" (thanksgiving). Praise God, Praise God!!!
  25. I should be offering praise to God by living my life as closely as I can to the way He would want me to be: obedience, doing good works, giving thanks to Him for all He does of me and my family as well as others. Praising Him at all times. Worship and adoration.
