  1. The idea of God being "first" and "last" tells me that there was nothing before Him and will be nothing after Him. "I AM THAT I AM" and the ALPHA and the OMEGA mean that God is eternal. He is the start and He will be the end. He is who He is and there is no other.
  2. I think that inhabiting eternity would be like existing in a space that goes on forever. There are no words to describe what it would be like to be in the heavenlies with the Eternal God and Christ Jesus. This is like unspeakable joy!
  3. The name Yahweh reveals God as ever present. He is, was and will always be. He is mighty. He is the beginning and the end. He is the living God. The Egyptians had many gods that they worshipped which are not real. Our God is the only God and is living
  4. The staff or rod that Moses held was like a rallying point for Israel. When his arms were lifted high the Isralite army rallied and were victorious. In our battles when we remember that the battle belongs to the Lord we feel more confident.
  5. Jesus didn't call on the armies of heaven to help him in the Garden of Gethsemane because He had to go through this alone to fulfill scripture. When He does call on the heavenly hosts, they follow Him into battle.
  6. Elisha's servant was afraid because he saw with the natural eye the armies surrounding them. Elisha could see the armies of the Lord surrounding King Arams army. He had spiritual eyes and his servant did not which was why he prayed that his servant be given "eyes to see." I think that when things are overwhelming we need to see with eyes of faith. Most of the time things are going fairly good for us and we don't think about faith. But, when something happens we need to be able to see God in the midst of it. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. When you realize that Christ is in you, you know that He has overcome whatever or whomever is bothering you. I know from experience that when I was having a difficult time and wondering what to do this scripture came to mind and a peace came over me because I knew it was true.
  7. The Commander said that He was on neither side because Joshua should be on His side. As Commander of the Armies of the Lord, He leads, not follows. Joshua felt humbled by this experience and worshipped Him. After this encounter he felt victorious, on top of the world!
  8. That God was the Creator of heaven and earth
