  1. Hi, I'm Dianleigh from the "country" of Texas, Cowtown to be exact. For those of you who don't know, that's in the middle of the USA. I've taken 2 other courses from this site and enjoyed them. I'm looking forward to a good study of Philipians.
  2. I've enjoyed this study as well as the other study on Gideon. I especially liked the audio recap. I can always use a review in any study of God's word. Thanks a bunch.
  3. We do nothing about open sin because the devil has us running scared. In this open society of ours, we are told by the media, govenment, teachers, etc, that the greatest sin of all is intolerence. We have become more afraid to be called intolerant than to lose our souls. This is a form of persecution, if we are criticized for speaking against sin. We need to recall the words of our Lord in John 15:20, speak out and prepare to be persecuted.
  4. God knew Gideon would be a great instrument for accomplishing His purpose, but Gideon thought of himself as useless. When Gideon or ourselves can't see our value, we limit what we can do and worse, we limit God to our level. We must remember that "With God all things are possible." and that means being able to use our talents that we don't even see in ourselves.
  5. God hadn't abandoned the Isrealites as Gideon seemed to think, they had left Him. They were unfaithful to him by going to false gods. They broke His commandment after His warning of the trouble it would cause. We fo the same thing today. In John 14:15 Jesus tells us that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. When we don't obey Him we are turning our back on our Redeemer. He has never turned against us. Our disobedience causes problems for us and we have the nerve at times to blame God as Gideon did.
