  1. Q4. How can prayer change God's mind without conflicting with the doctrine of the Immutability of God? Can God answer a prayer for something outside of the scope of his will? God is a compassionate loving God. If the prayer is earnest and loving and sincere I am sure God would answer it in the way that is good for us. Am I being really niave - I thought nothing was outside the scope of God's will. Whatever God willed - that was it! What do others think? I would be interested to know
  2. . What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers? Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God? What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? How does this help our prayers be within God's will? 1. We should have compassion for those we intercede for. 2. If God gives in to His anger it would diminish Him in the eyes of His people. Possibly break His promises to them. 3. Knowing the Bible helps us to know God's will for our life. Our prayers are then prayed with a proper direction
  3. The people had rejected God. Their impatience and distrust, lack of faith caused them to question God and why they were having to wait on Moses and possibly there would be jealousy there too. Aaron, could be Jealous of Moses why else would he react the way he did. Aaron should have encouraged the people to wait, tried to strengthen their faith, instead of secumbing to their whims. People forget very easily what God does for them. God had every right to be angry. I believe he would be sad too, disappointed, have a feeling of being let down, the people he loved had treated Him so shabbily. How do we react when a loved one treats us shabbily. We want to relatiate. Is this a characteristic of God since we are made in God's image? Not only is God a God of love but He is a God of justice. Should the people truly repent He will forgive them
  4. To continually ask forgiveness means that we must be in continual contact with God. Seeking his guidance, understanding, and direction for our lives. It would also remind us that we are to forgive those who 'sin' against us.
  5. Unforgiveness stops us from growing. Growing in love for one another, growing in love with God. Growing full stop. Unforgiveness fills us with bitterness and blocks everythingelse out. It is hard to forgive but it is so worthwhile. It is something we must really work at if we want to get on with our lives. It comes back to the earlier question why must we depend on God on a daily basis? When we do that and talk to God daily it helps with the process of healing
  6. Why do we seek to be independent of asking anyone for help? Why do we seek to be independent of God? Why should we ask God to "give" us daily bread so long as we can earn a living for ourselves? We don't like the feeling of inadequacy that asking for help from someonelse can give us. Or perhaps rejection, fearing that the person would not respond in a positive manner. Why do we seek to be indpendant from God? Stupidity?! I think we do not like to feel dependant on someone to the extent of providing for us on a daily basis. But when we talk about our 'daily bread' what do we mean. Is it food to nourish our bodies or is it food to nourish our souls? Therefore by talking to God on a daily basis, we will get both - Praise the Lord
  7. We look around at this sad world and see all the depravity, greed, murder etc. going on. The only answer to its problems is that God comes into the hearts and minds of the people to change their lives and therefore live the way God wants us to live. In that way His Kingdom will come and His will be done.
  8. By our words and actions we should hallow God's name. In other words our behaviour and speech should tell people that we are 'different' from them. How we react to situations and what type of conversation we will listen to or take part in. This would identify us as part of the Family of God. God our Father would want us to listen to his guidance in all things.
