  1. I believe that Paul was saying that a man who is faithful and shows respect to his wife and brings his family up in a god fearing manner will be looked up to and respected. If his family conducts themselves in a way that is pleasing to God it shows that he taught them well. These are the qualities that would make a good leader. If a man has two wives which one does he put first?God gave Adam only one Eve not two and there is only one God and one way to salvation through Jesus Christ.
  2. I think that we need to look at this subject of women teaching in context, as a whole separate study in order to come to any meaningful conclusions. It needs to be treated relating to all mention of women teaching and or assisting to teach in scripture As Paul in this book is speaking of false teaching and problems in the church I am led to the conclusion that there might have been some problems with the women in Ephesus. So as not to detract further from the study at hand ,enough said for now.
  3. I believe that what Paul is saying here is that if a woman dresses herself in an unbecoming manner outsiders could perceive her to be of an unsavory personality. there were obviously women in Ephesus who were trying to attract the men by wearing revealing clothing. These women were more than likely members of occult sects or simply prostitutes. The lesson we can learn from this situation is that sometimes what one wears exposes what you feel or aspire to. When we look around us today prostitution is rife and these ladies and even men dress to expose what they believe is attractive to others. I urge all women to dress in a manner befitting to their hearts.( May I add praise the lord for all our "EVES" without them we would not cope)
  4. Paul was telling the church that Christ died that all might be saved and all men have the right to thank and praise the Lord.A lesson that we can learn from this verse is that when our prayers are going unanswered then it is time that we need to make sure that our hearts are right with God.Refocus our lives on the one and only savior and all else will fade into the distance and life get a new meaning .
  5. The reason that Paul emphasizes "Mediator" and "Ransom" is firstly to tell the church that there is only one way to be saved and that is through Jesus. He came to earth to pay the "ultimate ransom" by dying for us ,then He rose again from the dead and is seated at Gods right hand Where he became the "mediator" (Only through His blood are we saved ) for all men and not only the Jews as was the delusion of some in Ephesus.
  6. The subject of salvation for all mankind is bought to the fore to correct an issue of false teaching in the church at Ephesus. They have strayed from the truth and are leaning toward old Jewish traditions and laws. The focus of preaching the gospel has been lost and Paul is reminding them of the original calling.
  7. To encourage him in a time when the church was going through a crisis period. In practice terms to fight the good fight is the calling to believe and spread the gospel of the Lord as per 1 Timothy 6:p12 Paul is telling Timothy to remain steadfast in his belief and not be led astray by the false teachings.
