  1. It says in the gospel were all equal men, women, salve, or free person. Paul is condoning salvery in this passage so that Gods name and the teachings don't get slandered. I feel Pauls motive here was to teach the slaves to be this way to show the non-christian masters God's truth, and teachings.
  2. paul says don't be hasty because he didn't want Timothy to get new converts, or people that little was known about, if there was hastyness they could share in there sins. Paul said they must first be tested, and then if there is nothing against them let them serve and this is how the dangers were lessened.
  3. It was necessary to try false teachers because those who did wrong were to be rebuked publicly so others would take notice. the temptations to compremise were because the person was rich or he was a very influential person, and that is also why it is hard to exercise church discipline in todays church. Justice is important to God and must be exercised in the church.
  4. Elders should be compensated if the affairs of the church are directed well. The Scriptural support for this is Luck 10:7 the worker deserves his wages.
  5. As believers we are expected to provide for are aging family members, if we do not provide for our relatives especially, then we denied our faith. This is repayment because they took care of us in our time of need.

  7. It makes people feel they are doing what is required, and this produces self-righteousness. i feel the emphasis puts importance on works not faith.
  8. Paul is reminding Timothy of the predictions so he won't be surprised by the chaos he sees in the church. I feel that this should make Timothy's ministry grow i feel it should cause the church to to want to know the truth and the truth is the word we shouldn't abandon the truth or be led away by false teachings.
  9. Elders are leaders, teachers of the church. Deacons are assistants of the church their jobs are caring for the church bussiness.
  10. I feel the nature of these things in church leaders can affect the way of ones thinking, and decision making. If you don't consider these things it can cause harm and hurt to people and the church. ( Disgrace )
  11. I feel that leaders should be observed because you don't want to put a new person to the lord as a leader, pride will take him or her down and the devil will take over. We should be looking for people that are spirtualy matured. ( Purity )
  12. I feel Paul is telling us with that phrase ( husband of one wife ) is a man with morals. If the pastors family is obedient to God and him then this will give him the ability to provide an effective leadership.
  13. This is my view I don't feel this is applicable to our time. Ifeel that Christian menistry should glorify God,and bring the message of salvation. There are Christian women today with powerful ministeries that do that.
  14. It would cause a divide among the rich and poor most of the women back then were slaves. We don't apply this in the twenty-first century church this must be applied on a basis of principle not law.
  15. Men were going through the motions of prayer but they had anger in their hearts they were not worshipping with purity in there hearts and mouths.
  16. God wants all men to be saved and to know the truth. the evangelism in the Ephesus church got lost, do to the false teachings the had lost focus on salvation for the Gentiles.
  17. Paul emasizes these roles to show us what Jesus is about, Jesus died for our sins ( paying the price for our release) and by doing so we were reconciled with god.
  18. God wamts all men to be saved and to know the truth. The evangelism in the Ephesus church got lost, do to the false teachings they had lost focus on salvation for the Gentiles.
  19. Paul is reminding Timothy of the prophecies so he can fight the good fight. By keeping his faith and good conscience, and not rejecting this so him and the church don't shipwreck their faith.
  20. What I learned here in this Doxology of God is he is King Eternal, immortal, invisible the only God and we know this by faith. I've haven't tried speaking out a doxology but I will start by doing so I'm blessed and he is honored.
  21. Paul was showing Timothy and the church the way he use to be a blasphermer a violent man. He is sharing this with them telling telling them even though he was like that the Lord showed mercy and gave him grace, faith, and love. By sharing this he was showing the church that the same would happen to them.
  22. It caused controversy it was not of sincere faith which caused people to wander and teachers to teach things in which they didn't know what they were talking about.
